First, I have to say that the macarons from Rocq are truly the best we have found. This is not about quality of product.
That being said, the service was terrible. Denise Rice was who I dealt with and due to her mistakes, I will never use ...or recommend this company to anyone.
We ordered over 250 macarons and paid for o/n shipping, Fri. delivery. I had a small window on Saturday a.m. for assembly of our favor. We had a mason jar, burlap, ribbons, special calligraphied tags, metal keys, etc. It was a labor-intensive package to prepare and we had to prepare almost 70 of them! The plan was to get our favors ready and then return to our hotel to get ready for our event.
Denise never sent them on the day we agreed on (Thurs). When our restaurant expressed their concern on Fri. afternoon (no macarons), I emailed Denise. She waited two hours and sent me this:
Hello Jamie
Your package was sent out tonight for arrival tomorrow before 9:30am. I'm sorry I did not communicate with you of the change but I felt it was better for you to receive the package as Fresh as possible. I want to ensure the quality is to your highest expectations. I also sent you an additional 24 Macarons just in case you receive broken ones you will not be left out with empty or incomplete gift boxes.
Thank you again for your business and support and please give us your feedback on your experience with Rocq.
Warm Regards
Denise Rice

We had already spoken regarding the freshness of the macarons and how they could be sent 2 day, next day, that as long as they stayed frozen after arrival, they would remain very fresh.
It seemed to everyone on our end that she just forgot to send them and instead of being honest, made up an alternate story. Even if this were true, it was never her decision to make.
So, we went to the venue early in the a.m. I was hopeful they would be there before 9:30. At 11:23 ,she finally called me to tell me they would not arrive AT ALL. My husband was very upset but I remained calm. I contacted Whole Foods and we ordered everything they had (only 1/2 of what we needed). The pastry chef at our restaurant said she could make coconut macaroons (totally different) but we decided we would alternate the favors and make it a cute play on the word macaroon (one french macaron and one southern macaroon). So, my husband stayed at the restaurant and made the favors so I could go back to the hotel to get ready. My hairdresser was expecting me to be showered with dry hair already and she had to wait for me to do this. This also backed up the makeup artist by an hour.
My husband spent an additional $300 on the macarons from Whole Foods and had to courier them from the store. He then prepared half of the favors. The chef at the restaurant got everything ready to prepare the coconut macaroons for the other favors.
Then, the Rocq macarons DID arrive after 2pm. So, now we have 150% of the macarons we need, another cookie being started at the restaurant, $300 spent we didn't need to spend, and a lot of stress and wasted time and energy (and money) due to Denise's mistake in not sending the macarons next day air as we paid for and expected all along.
She did not answer my many calls or return my email. Unbelievable. Horrible service. Do not deal with Denise.
