Twilight star Christian Serratos is getting married! The actress announced her engagement to her longtime boyfriend, singer David Boyd, on August 16, 2024. "I've been calling my boyfriend 'Husband' for ten years. ♥️ Now it's OFFICIAL ♥️," she captioned a slideshow of proposal photos on Instagram.
Included in the announcement was a close-up view of her custom 12-carat engagement ring from Brilliant Earth, which features a fancy-cut lab-grown center stone and a unique red setting—a look the actress says was "done to perfection."
We caught up with the couple amid their milestone, who say the engagement is just a formality to the bond they've already formed together. "I think we both feel our commitment to each other started ten years ago and was solidified when we decided to have [our daughter] Wolfie," Serratos exclusively tells us. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Serratos' non-traditional engagement jewelry gives a glimpse into what the couple's wedding day will look like. "We aren't very traditional people, but being officially married is something we've always talked about," Serratos says. "I lean very introverted so I imagine our wedding will be something very deconstructed. Perhaps even Camp."
Plus, she adds that she isn't shying away from having multiple celebrations: "We'll see in another ten years. Maybe [we'll have] a decades party!"
Inside Christian Serratos and David Boyd's Love Story
Marriage was always in the cards for Christian Serratos and David Boyd, who met ten years ago in Atlanta. "David was on tour with Paramore and Fallout Boy, and I was filming The Walking Dead at the time," Serratos recalls. "I watched his performance, and when I went backstage to say hi to a friend who was on the tour, I was introduced to him. We had our first date the next night and have been together ever since."
In 2017, three years after they began dating, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Wolfgang. Since then, the two have relished their journey into parenthood together. "I've love being a parent with David. We balance each other very well," she explains. "We mostly have the same style of parenting, but David's stamina with our very outdoorsy child is a match made in heaven. That's what we get for naming her Wolf, but our pack is great."
Although they've been together for a decade, Serratos says they both knew their connection was the real deal from the very beginning. "I realized very early on," she says, noting that they made the most of their relationship despite their demanding careers in the entertainment industry. "We were long distance for years and had the most fun navigating it, traveling to fun parts of the world or going back and forth from New York City to Atlanta. We were able to see what could have been very tricky as an adventure, which actually speaks more to David's personality than mine. It's a quality I love."
