The Best Celebrity Wedding Rings of All Time, According to The Knot Editors
As editors, social media managers, and content strategists for The Knot, we see plenty of diamonds and gemstones on the reg. It's rare that a day goes by where we aren't oohing and ahhing over Sofia Richie's engagement ring, or Hailey Bieber's dazzling wedding stack. We analyze celebrity wedding rings like it's our job—because, well, it kind of is. Since we've seen so many incredible sparklers over the years, we're qualified to present the ultimate roundup of the best celebrity wedding bands and engagement rings of all time.
Here, The Knot editors share their favorite diamond stacks worn by celebrities, royals and public figures throughout history. Discover our faves, and read up on the specs of the dazzling gems that stole our hearts.
Grace Kelly's Wedding Ring
The Knot's Executive Editor Lauren Kay once said that Grace Kelly's veil is her favorite celebrity headpiece—so it'll come as no surprise that she considers the princess's engagement ring to be her favorite in the jewelry department. "I adore the timelessness of this ring," she says. "The emerald shape gives it edge, quite literally with brilliant sparkle. It feels deco and classic all at once. I love it so much I may or may not have shown it to my now-husband before he went ring shopping."
Beyoncé's Wedding Ring
As The Knot team's biggest Beyoncé stan, Kimberly Brown's favorite celebrity wedding ring doesn't come as a surprise. "A ring fit for a Queen…Bey," our Influencer Specialist says of the singer's split-shank sparkler. "An emerald-cut diamond never goes out of style. Even though this ring is massive, what I love most about it is that it still feels very dainty because of the split-shank setting. I will always be crazy in love with this incredibly stunning ring."
Although the Lorraine Schwartz creation—which is estimated to be worth about $5 million—is certainly a showstopper, it rarely makes public appearances. In fact, Beyoncé has only been photographed wearing this ring a handful of times. Instead, she often swaps the bauble out for other styles, like a band or a marquise-cut ring. She and her husband Jay-Z also have matching tattoos of the Roman numeral IV on their ring fingers.
Taylor Hill's Wedding Ring
Plenty of celebrities have oval- and emerald-cut engagement rings, which is precisely why model Taylor Hill's unique diamond shape is Emily Platt's favorite. "As someone who thinks trillion diamonds deserve a bigger spotlight, this ring surprised me in the best way," explains our Senior Manager of Commerce Content Strategy. "The triangular side stones command attention while framing the classic center stone really gorgeously."
Sophie Turner's Wedding Ring
The Knot's Deputy Editor Esther Lee has covered countless celebrity engagements throughout her career, but that doesn't mean she had a hard time picking her favorite famous wedding ring. "If the couple name alone ("Jophie") doesn't make you want to cheer for Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, the engagement ring is a convincing case for why this celebrity couple deserves bonus points for originality and great taste," she says of the actress' nontraditional sparkler. "The Jonas Brother proposed with a solitaire pear-shaped diamond set on a double pave band for a modern, streamlined and unique engagement ring aesthetic."
Blake Lively's Wedding Ring
Of all the celebrity wedding rings throughout history, a select few have gone on to influence widespread jewelry trends—and Blake Lively's is one. "This ring combines a few of my favorite things: an oval-cut solitaire diamond, a pavé band, blush pink, and Blake Lively," says our Senior Content Strategist Emily Dumas. "I'm convinced this ring is single-handedly responsible for oval engagement rings becoming popular again." (Case in point: Emily notes that her own engagement ring is quite similar to this celebrity style.) "Blake's gorgeous 12-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring is timeless and classic, while also being a major statement piece."
Princess Diana and Kate Middleton's Wedding Ring
The Knot's Senior Editor Kim Forrest has been in the industry for over a decade, which means she's seen it all when it comes to memorable jewelry. Unsurprisingly, though, her favorite celebrity wedding ring is one of the most recognizable in the world. "The vast majority of engagement rings feature a diamond center stone, but this royal ring really makes the case for sapphires," she explains. "Kate Middleton's ring, which was inherited from her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, features a 12-carat oval sapphire surrounded by 14 round diamonds. It's really the epitome of timelessness, looking as jaw-droppingly gorgeous and enviable today as it was over 40 years ago."
Amal Clooney's Wedding Ring
As The Knot's go-to expert on all things Gen Z culture, our Social Media Coordinator Kerre Jo Lattanzio has a finger on the pulse of new and up-and-coming trends. But, interestingly enough, her favorite celebrity wedding ring is a timeless diamond worn by none other than Amal Clooney. "Emeralds are hot—so hot in fact, they never go out of style," she raves. "I love this ring for its timelessness and the subtle statement it makes. It says, 'I'm a modest bride who wants a little edge.'"
Hailey Bieber's Wedding Ring
After Blake Lively essentially started the oval-cut renaissance, plenty of celebs began wearing similar styles. But of all the other oval-cut celebrity wedding rings, there's one in particular that reigns supreme for Taylor Whitten. "When I say… the chokehold Hailey Bieber's oval cut diamond with a classic gold band has on me," says our Planning & Style Content Strategist. "The hidden halo and delicate details allow the diamond to shine as the center of attention. By going classic and timeless with the engagement ring, some fun can be had with the wedding band to branch out and add even more bling."
Fun, indeed. Hailey Bieber often changes up her wedding ring stack, switching between various bands with oval-cut diamonds, pavé diamonds, and more. Goals.
Sofia Richie's Wedding Ring
Of course, we can't round up the best celebrity wedding rings without mentioning Sofia Richie's—the latest it-girl of the bridal industry. "There's no doubt that Sofia Richie's wedding was *iconic* from beginning to end, starting with her engagement ring," notes Mina Garagozlo, The Knot's Senior Social Media Manager. "I absolutely love the look of an emerald-cut diamond paired with a dainty band. It's simple, chic, and modern while giving the stone its moment to shine—literally."
Paris Hilton's Wedding Ring
What's a fashion editor's favorite celebrity wedding ring? We asked Lauren Whalley, The Knot's Fashion Editor, Beauty & Inclusivity, and were pleased (although, not surprised) with her response. "I am sliving for Paris Hilton's 20-carat custom engagement ring designed by Cartier descendent, Jean Dousset," she says. "The emerald-cut diamond framed by two shield-cut diamonds was fittingly inspired by the structure of the Grand Palais in Paris. Now that's hot."
Ciara's Wedding Ring
Esther Lee couldn't pick just one celebrity wedding ring as her favorite. (TBH? Don't blame her.) "I have a soft spot for Cici and Russell Wilson—their love story is one of perfect timing, commitment and trust," she reflects. "The NFL player proposed during a trip to Seychelles with a 16-carat, cushion-cut engagement ring. (Now, how he stowed that away for the trip remains a mystery to us.)"
Lily Collins' Wedding Ring
The Knot's TikTok specialist Alli Kennon spends her time scouring up-and-coming trends on the internet, so it'll come as no surprise that her favorite celebrity wedding ring is a bit more avant-garde than others. "Lily Collins' ring is so TIMELESS while still being extremely unique and ahead of its time for 2021," she says of the rosy morganite gemstone the actress received from Charlie McDowell. "I love how the rose-cut gem has a bezel setting, allowing it to blend with her other jewelry seamlessly. This style is becoming super popular on TikTok as a more androgynous, heirloom jewelry look that'll last a lifetime."
Princess Eugenie's Wedding Ring
As The Knot's Assistant Commerce Updates Editor, Emily Rumsey's daily workflow consists of window shopping online—and she's already found a celebrity wedding band to inspire her own. "Princess Eugenie's engagement ring is saved on my Pinterest. Seriously! I'm not a fan of a solitaire diamond ring because it doesn't feel personal to me," she says of the royal's sentimental sparkler. "That's partially why I love Princess Eugenie's ring. Her now husband, Jack Brooksbank, swapped a traditional diamond center stone for a padparadscha sapphire (aka a rare pink and orange gemstone), saying its color-changing beauty reminds him of her. He paired it with a halo of small, round diamonds flanked by pear-shaped diamonds on a Welsh gold band."
She continues, "Despite all the detail—and sizable stones—the ring still feels dainty and elegant. It has a charming vintage look you could admire for hours. Plus, pink is my favorite color."
Beanie Feldstein's Wedding Ring
In October 2022, actress Beanie Feldstein got engaged to producer Bonnie Chance Roberts with a ring that was designed completely from scratch, which is why it's our Associate Director of Editorial Video Ash Tulett's favorite. "Nothing screams true love like designing your partner's engagement ring—and what a stunning design this is," he says of this celebrity wedding ring. "This beauty is a three-carat oval diamond that is set east-west, (rather than the typical north-south orientation) surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds and sits on a yellow gold band (a less common choice for engagement rings in recent years). The design is both modern and timeless and truly feels like a rare flower in bloom!"
Katy Perry's Wedding Ring
According to our Assistant Fashion Commerce Editor Sofia Deeb, the best engagement rings are the ones that show off the wearer's personality…like Katy Perry's botanical sparkler. "I love that this ring is totally unique, just like Katy! It's not every day that you see a bride rocking a deep pink-colored stone, especially one set in the shape of a flower," she explains. "While they may not be as common as other styles, I think cluster rings are absolutely timeless."
Julianne Hough's Wedding Ring
Although this celebrity wedding ring is no longer worn out in the universe, it's still one that Hannah Nowack considers to be the best of the best. "When Brooks Laich proposed to Julianne Hough in 2015, he did so with an epic Lorraine Schwartz oval diamond ring mounted on a thin platinum band with pavé diamonds," says The Knot's Senior Editor, Weddings. "The center stone was said to be between five and seven carats (with a price tag of around $350,000) and I cry a little bit each day that this sparkler is no longer on Hough's finger. It was the perfect balance of glamour and refinement."
Jacqueline Kennedy's Wedding Ring
Of course, we can't talk about iconic celebrity wedding rings without mentioning one of the most dazzling designs worn by a renowned political figure. "This dreamy ring combines so many of my favorite things when it comes to jewelry: emeralds, emerald-cut diamonds and an antique aesthetic," says The Knot's Commerce Editor Cathryn Haight of Jacqueline Kennedy's jaw-dropping ring. "Custom made by Van Cleef & Arpels, the ring features two center stones—one emerald and one diamond—that each clock in at just under three carats. And for even more sparkle, Jackie had the ring finished with 12 glimmering marquis diamonds that hug her finger like a swooping vine. It's serving a classic, more ornate take on the trendy toi et moi style of today. And if I had this ring, I would totally become a lefty."
Ariana Grande's Wedding Ring
Despite all the celebrity wedding rings she sees while running The Knot's Instagram account, there's no competition for Lucy Ferut's favorite bauble. "As an Ariana Grande stan, I would say I loved her engagement ring no matter what it looked like," she shares. "However, her diagonally-set diamond-and-pearl ring from Dalton Gomez gave me actual heart eyes."
Beyond its unique aesthetic, she says that it's the meaning behind the design that stands out to her. "I love oval diamonds to begin with, but the sentimental value of Ari's ring had me in tears," Lucy continues. "The pearl was pulled from her late grandfather's collection (and as any fan knows, she was very close to her grandfather). This subtle detail shows off the love she has for her family, and it also gives the ring a unique look to match her personality. It's perfect in my eyes and will forever live on my Pinterest board."
Meghan Markle's Wedding Ring
It's hard for me, The Knot's Entertainment and Celebrity Editor, to pick my favorite famous wedding ring because, frankly, I love every single sparkler on this list. But, all things considered, I do have a soft spot for Meghan Markle's wedding ring, notably because of its sentimentality. Prince Harry presented the Duchess of Sussex with a three-stone diamond set in yellow gold—and its center stone was sourced from Botswana, a place very close to the couple's heart.
That stone is nestled between two smaller round diamonds, pulled from his late mother Princess Diana's personal collection. In 2019, one year after the couple's royal wedding, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out with an updated wedding ring stack, which I'm so here for. She's since upgraded her royal engagement ring with a sparking pavé band, along with the addition of a new stacking band paired with her wedding rings. Proof that you can never have too much sparkle on your ring finger.
