Cyrus' engagement ring designer, Jacquie Aiche, confirmed the news in a press release shared with The Knot on December 2, 2025. Speculation about a potential engagement took off after the singer wore a diamond ring on her left hand while walking the red carpet for the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1. Aiche confirmed that the ultra-trendy cushion-shaped diamond is set on a 14K gold dome-shaped band in an east-west orientation (just like Zendaya's). While the modern setting is certainly having a moment, it's the cushion diamond that's predicted to be one of the top engagement ring trends of 2026.

Miley Cyrus' engagement ring is a cushion-shaped diamond in an east-west setting. Designed by LA-based jeweler Jacquie Aiche, she confirmed that the center stone rests on a 14K yellow gold band. With its domed, chunky appearance, the ring combines some of the top engagement ring trends of the moment. Not only does the sideways orientation mirror Zendaya's engagement ring, Cyrus is the latest celeb to debut a cushion-shaped diamond. (Other 2025 celebrity recipients include Taylor Swift, Becca Tilley, Claudia Sulewski and Gabriella Brooks.)

The Clear Cut founder Olivia Landau estimates that the center stone is between 3 to 4 carats with a "crushed ice" faceting pattern. "The diamond is set east-west in a chunky bombe-style bezel setting in yellow gold: a look that feels a little bit rock and roll, cool and modern, while still reading as very bridal," she says. Landau speculates that the price tag could fall between $75,000 and $150,000, while Blue Nile's VP of Merchandising Daniela Tarantino suggests it could be upwards of $300,000 to $450,000.

Miley Cyrus' fiancé Maxx Morando, 27, is also in the entertainment industry. He's currently the drummer for the band Liily. (Before that, he was the drummer for Regrettes from 2015 to 2018.) Maxx is also credited as a producer on "Handstand" and "Violet Chemistry," two songs from Miley Cyrus' 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation.
