**Since writing our original review, Diamonds Direct has contacted us and been more than willing to work with us to turn our experience around. They are doing everything in their power to make sure we are happy customers.
Let me begin by sa...ying, everyone we have ever dealt with at Diamonds Direct has been nothing but extremely nice and truly listened to our wants and needs. They, also, have the best selection. That being said, I will never recommend Diamonds Direct, nor will I ever spend another dollar at their store.
Over the last year, my fiancé and I have used Diamonds Direct for our engagement ring and his wedding band. If I was not going to be using a family ring for my wedding band, we would have probably ordered that through them too. But after everything that has happened, I am very thankful we didn’t.
My fiancé and I began looking at engagement rings March 2014. I fell in love with a ring that Diamonds Direct carried and could not get it out of my head. Unbeknownst to me, my fiancé ordered that ring the first week of April using his grandmother’s diamond as the center stone. Being that the center stone was his grandmother’s, he asked to hold on to the stone until the ring was made. Diamonds Direct explained that the ring designer needed the stone to make the ring, so he hesitantly handed the stone over to Diamonds Direct. He was told it would take between four and six weeks to get the ring. After five weeks of waiting, he called to check on the status of the ring and was told that the company he ordered the ring from had been giving Diamonds Direct problems. He was told that the company was switching computer systems and couldn’t find his order. After being given the runaround, the ring finally came in in June.
A month after he proposed, I was shopping for my bridesmaids’ dresses and looked down at my ring and realized I was looking at the profile of the center stone. The center piece had rotated 90 degrees, luckily not losing the family stone. When we went to Diamonds Direct, their first offer was to fix the ring. After going back and forth, they agreed to order a new custom ring to replace the broken one.
When it came time to order my fiancé’s wedding band, we reluctantly went to look at bands at Diamond’s Direct after not finding what he was looking for elsewhere. He fell in love with a ring and decided that the past was behind us and we would try again. After much deliberation, the salesperson said he was a size 9.5 and we ordered the ring.
A month later, we get a phone call that the ring is in. When we get there, handwritten on their copy of the paperwork, it says size 9.25. Knowing that doesn’t look right, he tries it on. It is clearly too small. When he finally wiggles the ring off his finger, they sized the ring to be an 8.75. Their first instinct is to offer to just resize it. My fiancé and I were both not happy with this option. We both don’t make a lot of money so to spend the amount of money we did on the ring, we want it made right from the get-go. The person helping us this time, sized his finger to make sure the right size is ordered the second time to find out his ring size is a 10.5. Where did the previous sales person come up with 9.5? We depended on them to be the experts and know what they were talking about. So, now, here we sit, hoping that they stay true to their word and order him a new one in the right size.
