After being blown away by the price of a quality diamond engagement ring we decided to pursue other options. Quality was always a must and we knew that we did not want a CZ. Eventually our search led us to discover Moissanite. We were drawn to this option because 1.) The hardness of Moissanite is second only to the diamond on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. 2.) I could have exactly what I wanted in a ring (ct size, 14k white gold band, side stone accents, etc) with the more cost effective moissanite. and 3.)Because it is made in a lab the gemstone is conflict free. After we decided on Moissanite we were surprised that we couldn't find it in stores which led our efforts into the online market. I was extremely nervous to purchase such an important ring online, however, the end result was worth the risk. Moissanite.com has a 30 day return policy but they ended up extending the return time because of the holidays. We ordered 2 rings and then decided between the two. I did have to pay to send back the ring. Customer service provided me a code to put on the outside and inside of the box and my return was processed within a few weeks without issue. I ended up with the classic moissanite which had a bit of a yellow tint in some lights, however, there offer other options such as Forever Brilliant if you want a whiter, brighter moissanite stone. We went with classic moissanite due to an extremely good sale in the clearance section. In most lights you can't see the yellowish tint and the brilliance is unbelievable. Moissanite.com also sent a free ring sizer in the mail ( You request the sizer through Customer service via online chat/phone) I considered many other Moissanite vendors but this vendor had the best sales which is why we ultimately ended up ordering from them. I'm so glad we did! With the money we saved on a moissanite vs. diamond ring we can put the money towards our new home together :)
