Katie is absolutely amazing!! When I began searching for wedding photographers I started on Instagram. Catherine Ann’s aesthetic caught me right away. It was so fun and happy and vibrant. It was exactly what I wanted my wedding photos to be. Katie is a direct reflection of that aesthetic. My fiance and I purchased one of her packages that included an engagement session. My fiance and I had never really done professional photos before and we are not “picture takers”. We are even pretty bad at Instagram. Katie made us feel so comfortable and eased us into it. It even started to rain during the shoot and Katie made it work! Our pictures were unbelievably beautiful. On the day of our wedding, Katie and Jay were rockstars. Taking pictures with them was so easy and so fun. We opted to do a first look and have all the posed photos done prior to the ceremony. So worth it!! Katie and Jay worked quickly, kept us on schedule, and even corralled our crazy families. Even my fiance, who despises taking pictures, afterward said, “Hey, that wasn’t so bad!!”. My fiance and I didn’t even realize Katie and Jay were taking photos during the cocktail hour and the reception. They’re awesome people, so we wouldn’t have minded if they were seen or heard, but they were neither seen nor heard (Lol!)!! Katie sent me sneak peek photos the day after the wedding and, oh my gosh. They are stunning. I am dying to get the full set back. On top of all of this, our wedding party, our family, and even our guests have told us how great the photographers were. When we were looking for a wedding photographer, we wanted someone who would take colorful, natural, and fun photos that made us smile every time we looked at them! We came across some of Katie and Jay's work and knew they would be perfect for us! My now husband is not a big fan of taking pictures (shocker), but Katie and Jay made us both feel so comfortable. Since they are a husband and wife duo, it took a lot of the awkwardness out. We did an engagement shoot with them and loved the photos so we knew we were going to be in good hands for the wedding. PLUS they love puppies and we are big time dog lovers. On the day of our wedding, Katie was able to capture photos of me with my girls and Jay took photos of the boys. Katie and Jay were absolutely amazing. From when we had our engagement photos taken through our wedding day, Katie and Jay were wonderful. For our engagement pictures, Katie provided helpful information on wardrobe selections and color choices. The day of our engagement picture session was a terribly hot summer day, and on top of that, we experienced “wardrobe malfunctions.” Katie was on top of it all and managed to get amazing pictures, even some with our fur baby. Katie made us feel extremely comfortable and her easy going manner showed through in our pictures – they were beautiful, natural and heart-rending Katie also prepared us well for the wedding day, giving the most perfect and detailed itinerary for pictures. On the wedding day, both Katie and Jay did an amazing job of taking photos of all aspects of the day. Yet, they were discreet and non-obtrusive to the wedding day festivities. After the wedding, Katie was quick in sending me a few a sneak peek pictures the day after the wedding! And then two days later, she sent the most perfect sneak peek slideshow video. I could not stop watching the video and everyone who saw it fell in love. Finally, Katie was extremely fast in getting us all of the wedding photos - less than 2 weeks after the wedding - and they were just as amazing as all her other work. When our wedding planner asked us which wedding vendor we thought would be the most important to us on our wedding day, I answered “photography!” straight away! People say that your wedding day is a whirlwind, and it’s so true! I knew I wanted to work with Katie from the minute I saw her work. Every single photo she takes is simply beautiful. Throughout the wedding planning process, Katie answered every question we had so quickly and was able to refer us to a few of the incredible vendors we ended up selecting. We were planning from out-of-state, so Katie’s suggestions for vendors and shooting locations were especially helpful! Katie is such a pro. She takes time to get to know her couples before the wedding with very specific questions and makes sure to be super prepared for the day-of by consulting with you on the shots that are important to you! She also provided us with a detailed timeline which made everything so easy going into the day! We were already so impressed with Katie before the wedding, but when our wedding day came, we were just blown away. I could not imagine having more incredible photographers than Katie and her husband, Jay. Katie did our engagement shoot and they were both there for the wedding. They are both really sweet and super fun to work with and the photos that we have seen so far have been BEAUTIFUL. Before we left the venue, Katie had printed little wallet-sized sneak peek photos for us to take home (I still have no idea when/how she did this in the midst of everything, but it was seriously impressive/a wonderful surprise). And then I woke up the next morning to an email from her with MORE sneak peek pictures. From the moment I met Katie, I knew that she was the Fairy God-photographer I never knew I needed. She is everything you could ever possibly want in a wedding photographer. We booked them initially for engagement photos since we wanted to do them at Disney and Katie had experience with that. They made the whole process fun and easy - it never felt artificial or posed. This review is nearly six months overdue and I'm ashamed that I've taken this long to write about how UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING Katie is! My husband and I got married at the Cedar Room and I was specifically looking for a photographer who worked well with natural light so that our photos would have a soft, romantic feel. If I could go back and do it all over again, I'd pick Katie every single time!! She is worth every penny and more! We were having a destination wedding which can cause a little extra anxiety with coordinating vendors, but throughout the entire process with Katie, communication was clear and easy, and any questions I had were answered nearly immediately! Although I may have had a million things to worry about, photography was NEVER one of them!! Not only did Katie's work and passion blow us away, but her fun personality and excessive use of smiley faces (just like me :P) made us feel completely at ease right away. We had never posed for photos before but from the moment we started our engagement session, she coached us every step of the way. It was like having an old friend snapping pictures of us! Come the wedding day, Katie & Jay captured every photo we dreamed of and more. We never once felt rushed and were guided at all the right times. I 200% recommend Katie for your big day! Remember, your wedding photos are something you will have to look back on and treasure for the rest of your life. Katie will not let you down!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Katie & Jay. From the moment we met Katie at our engagement shoot, we felt so comfortable. Katie and her husband John are incredible photographers and even better people! My husband and I have never really taken many pictures together and were a little apprehensive with our engagement session on Rainbow Row last Christmas. Katie and John made us feel so at ease and we had an absolute blast, we were so sad and wanted to do it again once it was over! Even a pose that may feel awkward came out incredible! Katie and her husband were so amazing and went above and beyond! We decided to do an elopement and they were so flexible and helpful with everything! My husband is in the military and we had to change the date a few times and she never once made me feel bad about it, she was so accommodating. Katie and Jay captured the special moments and details of our wedding so beautifully! They were incredibly professional yet so easy and comfortable to work with. Katie and Jay are AMAZING! They photographed my sister and her husbands wedding 2 years ago. We fell in love with the way my sisters photos came out. It is completely different then the way photographers photograph in New York. Katie and Jay's photos are bright, vibrant and soft instead of dark and mysterious. Where do I start? Amazing isn't even the word to describe Katie and Jay's work. Not only are they extremely talented, they are GREAT people. Firstly, just take a look at their gallery of wedding photos, it will speak for itself. Half of the pictures they took on our wedding day (i.e. all of the important moments between you & your spouse, family and friends) I didn't even know they took! Our couples shoot was beyond perfect. I told them the theme I was going for and Katie & Jay NAILED it. For the bridal party and family photos, they gave everyone such clear and great directions which made the pictures come out perfect. My husband and I can't even decide what pictures we want to print because we love ALL of them. It's a great problem to have I guess! :) Almost everyone at our wedding has been raving about how great our photos came out and how wonderful our photographers were. The both of them have amazing personalities which definitely helps when you are nervous and stressed on your wedding day. Every bride is! They took their time to get all of the pictures that we wanted. Katie is very detail-oriented, and she did a great job of keeping everyone on schedule. We won't receive our photos for a few more weeks, but I know the pictures will be incredible. The sneak peeks that we've seen so far are amazing! Katie and John are incredible! They are some of the nicest people who I have ever met, not to mention that they are ridiculously talented. And they're dog people! We had our dog in our engagement and wedding photos and they were so patient with us, whether standing out in the August heat or in the January cold. Wedding planning can be pretty overwhelming— especially picking a photographer in Charleston because there are so many to choose from! Photography was very important to us because we knew that it would be an investment, but also the only element of our budget that would be kept and cherished for generations to come. Choosing Catherine Ann Photography for our wedding and engagement photos was undoubtedly one of the best decision we made. If you’re looking, save yourself the time and stress and book Katie and Jay! We did a lot of research and decided we just loved the gorgeous natural feel of the photos on their website and their philosophy on photography. From the first time I met Katie I knew she was the perfect photographer for Ian and I! Her bubbly personality but ability to keep it professional was perfect. It also was great we both love Disney!! She even offered to take our engagement photos in Disney, which turned out amazing! Jay was just as awesome as Katie. I fell in love with Catherine Ann's photos from the moment I saw them. Katie was so helpful and kind and took the most amazing photos. We eloped in Charleston so we had many questions. Katie not only answered photography questions, but she even helped us with many other questions we had about the area, venue, bakery, florist, hotels, etc. Katie was extremely flexible as it was supposed to storm the day of the wedding and we left the time flexible depending on the weather. Katie took more photos than I expected and was so kind and accommodating to our family, even giving cooling off breaks from the 93 degree temps :) Katie's finance was just as amazing and friendly. Katie and Jay were literally incredible. They were so much fun and their passion for photography (and life!) shone through in all our sessions with them - we simply loved working with them from start to finish. Instead, Katie happily changed this for a rehearsal dinner shoot the day before, which was a fantastic way to capture all the excitement of the night before as well as getting some group shots that may have been harder to take on the day. Planning a wedding can be stressful! But when our planner narrowed down options for a photographer it was a no brainer that we wanted Catherine Ann Photography! I can't say enough good things about Catherine Ann Photography. She was AMAZING! From beginning to end, she was a delight to work with. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We were a bit nervous about the schedule for our wedding day since we did not hire a wedding planner, but Katie created a timeline for us and every so often she would give us a gentle reminder what we needed to do next. Her and her fiancé’s (they team up for the wedding day to photograph everything from different angles and perspectives) pictures are full of light and color, and captured the essence of every beautiful moment of our wedding day (and of our engagement shoot- which was really fun and a great way to get to know her!). All I can say is that Katie at Catherine Ann Photography is amazing! We booked her to do our one year anniversary pictures at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Once we booked our photography shoot with her she sent out a questionnaire to fill out so she can get to know us better and what type of pictures we were looking for, it was really helpful and a fantastic idea. I know that when I take pictures that I never think about how my feet are positioned so most of the time they are awkwardly posed I mentioned this to her and she made sure to tell me how my feet should be positioned for each shoot, I’m really grateful for that. You can really tell that she knows what she is doing because she really knows how to position you so the light hits you just right and the photos look natural and not so staged. She did a wonderful job of capturing all of the poses I asked for and all the shoots at different locations around the Magic Kingdom. We booked her for a two hour shoot and we got tons of pictures with the castle from multiple angles, Rapunzel’s tower, the Tea Cup ride, the carousal, and even on Main Street. My husband and I have always felt very awkward taking pictures because we are a bit camera shy so most of our pictures usually come out looking very rigid. Katie was extremely easy to talk to and she made us laugh and loosen up and we also got some really cute action shoots. Everyone I've showed my pictures too have just been blown away with how fantastic they are. Katie is very reasonably priced especially for the high quality service and photos she provides. She was prompt to respond to all of my emails and very professional. He fiancée was even kind enough to come to the shooting as well and helped as a backup shooter as well too also of carrying my bag so I wouldn’t have to worry about it during the shooting. I would book Katie again in a heartbeat and if I ever get the chance to go back to Orlando and take pictures! She's a great person to work with you won't regret choosing Catherine Ann Photography she'll be sure to catch every special moment!

Katie and Jay were absolutely amazing!!! I can’t say enough about the quality of service they offer and how wonderful they are as people. We got married in Disney World and photography was incredibly important to us. There was certain feel I wanted in our photos that was missing from Disney’s photography. I stumbled across Katie’s work by accident and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with her style. I hadn't done ANY research and wasn't sure what I was looking for but as soon as I started exploring Katie's page I knew I had to book her. I emailed her that day and she responded within a few hours just as excited to be a part of our wedding as we were to hire her! Katie and I exchanged several emails over the months leading to our wedding, some business related and some just for fun. She was always quick to respond and answer any questions we had. We found Catherine Ann Photography through our wedding planner Lindsay Bishop Events. We had no hesitations booking with them once I talked to Catherine I knew she would be perfect for us! Lindsay gave us the option of two photographers. We chose Catherine because her photos were so natural and fun and you could see the pure happiness in every couples photos she had done. Anyone loookibg for a great, fun, and natural photography session should choose Katie and Jay! My husband is not a fan of getting pictures taken at all and even he raved about how amazing Katie and jay were. And how comfortable they made him feel!

When searching through what seemed to be thousands of wedding photographers based in the Charleston, SC area, we found similar photos over and over.
