Full disclosure, I didn't end up going with the Cake Lady because I was so turned off by her attitude during the sampling process. She is really rude and condescending and I was not that impressed with her cake, fillings, or frosting either. ...The butter cream frosting was just blah. She explained the pricing per slice and indicated that the decorating was dependent on the design chosen. I wanted to get an idea on what the different designs cost so I asked her about the cost to decorate the cake designs displayed in her front window. Her response about the cakes in her window was, "I've never been asked that before." I thought she must have misunderstood me because I imagine that is why she have non-edible cakes in the window. So I asked again in a different way and she said, "um, I don't know, for x number of petals, maybe $1000" and then she changed her mind and said "maybe $500." I asked about other cakes and it was more of the same uncertain, rude remarks. I felt like she just wanted me to blindly select a design and then have me surprised when I get the bill. I also don't think her design are worth $500 - $1000 for something that will be consumed. I am annoyed enough that we paid $25 to have to deal with her & sample her mediocre cake.
