Emma Stone Reportedly Welcomes First Child with Husband Dave McCary—Here's What We Know
Mere months after Emma Stone and husband Dave McCary married in a top-secret wedding, the Oscar-winning actress and Saturday Night Live writer are now facing another life milestone amid COVID-19: parenthood. Multiple outlets report that Stone has given birth to their first child. While the news has yet to be confirmed by the couple, sources told TMZ the parents welcomed their baby on Saturday, March 13.
Photos of the pregnant actress circulated across the internet on January 4. "She seems very happy and very excited about becoming a mother," an insider told Us Weekly at the time. "She looks great, she looks healthy, she's glowing."
Emma Stone's Wedding and Postponement Details
Stone and McCary secretly wed amid COVID-19, according to People, whose source confirmed the nuptials in September 2020. Not much is still known about the couple's wedding details except that it occurred less than a year from when McCary proposed with an atypical engagement ring.
In March 2020, just as the coronavirus hit stateside, Page Six reported the lovebirds had postponed their wedding, much like other couples—many celebrities were impacted too. However, the pair decided to go ahead and make it official. Rumors of a wedding started circulating in May when Stone appeared in a video with Reese Witherspoon wearing a gold ring which seemingly replaced her engagement ring. In mid-September, the speculative marriage rumors continued to reach fever pitch after the couple was photographed wearing matching rings in L.A.
Emma Stone's Engagement Ring Details
While the La La Land star doesn't have a social media account, Stone and her husband announced their engagement via his Instagram page in December 2019. The post featured a loved up photo of the couple with Stone flashing her ring, a rose gold bauble with a vintage setting. The engagement ring itself included a sunken floral halo that included light pave diamond accents.
Stone and her future husband first met in December 2016, when the actress hosted SNL. (As known, McCary is both a writer and a segment director for the show.) Their first public appearance together came just six months later at the premiere of McCary's movie Brigsby Bear, with their comfort level for attending Hollywood events being cemented when they attended the 2019 Academy Awards show together.
"Two highly successful people in the entertainment business don't always give the other the space they need," an insider previously told People. "But he encourages her, and she loves that."
