This 'Game of Thrones' Bridal Shower Is Out of This Realm
Jen Balisi, food fanatic, bride-to-be and founder and president of Indulgent Eats, fully embraced the coming winter with a Game of Thrones bridal shower fit for a Khaleesi. Armed with a bespoke Daenerys Targaryen–inspired dress, dragon egg favors and the most epic hashtag (#KhaleesiBalisi—how amazing is that?), Balisi celebrated her upcoming nuptials to her fiancé Mike Profeta in style. The bride's sister and maid of honor, Josa Balisi, planned the Thrones-themed shower with every detail in mind—and you have to see the photos. Read on for all the inspo you'll ever need as a GoT fan yourself.
The Dress
Balisi's stunning white dress was custom made by FleurDeLys Couture and featured a regal cape and gorgeous gold neckline embellishment worthy of the Mother of Dragons herself. The to-be-weds also encouraged guests to come in Game of Thrones attire or medieval costumes.
On Point Décor
Dragon figurines, iron goblets and house banners made the Kolo Klub venue in Hoboken, New Jersey, look straight out of Westeros.
Themed Dessert Table
Jamm Event decked the dessert table in house banners and on-theme sweets: dragon egg cookies by MADE by Wendy, Sansa's lemon cakes, Red Wedding cakes (aka red velvet cake bites), fire and ice cupcakes, and Dire wolf claws (aka mini apple pies). And guests washed it all down with red sangria dubbed Red Witch's brew.
Dragon Egg Candle Favors
Speaking of dragon eggs, the couple sent their guests home with handmade gold dragon egg candles as the perfect shower favor.
Themed Shower Games
For shower games, they infused Game of Thrones references anywhere they could. One game testing guests' knowledge of the bride was called "You know nothing," as a nod to Jon Snow's character. They used a stuffed animal dragon to play a game of "Where Are My Dragons" (aka hot potato). And in their Thrones-ified version of He Said, She Said, the bride and groom raised either the stuffed dragon or a sword to show who was more likely to have said something.
