This modification was created during our planned tasting prior to the wedding, which we were grateful we were able to organize a few months before the wedding. The servers were wonderful and attentive, bringing us and the entire wedding party beverages after the ceremony, and checking in with us often during dinner to make sure our glasses were full, our meal was exceeding expectations, and making sure the personalized glasses and cake cutters gifted to us were used. We worked with Josh Kelly during the planning process, he was kind and very clear cut on what to expect the day of, and even provided a list for us on alcohol amounts for us to purchase at Costco to help keep the cost of everything within our budget. We're so grateful for how much Catering by Kelly's helped make our day perfect.

And we had so many unique requests and Dan was able to accommodate them was best as they could without increasing costs, and was honest about requests that did not seem feasible. During the tasting for example, we requested that they made changes to the salad dressing and they made those changes at the wedding. They were accommodating and displayed desserts that we brought from our favorite bakery. They served caviar that we brought in special for the wedding and served it with garnishes that we requested. They made very intricate signature cocktails. The servers and bartenders were amazing, and made sure that my husband and I had any food or drinks that we wanted at all times! I was blown away by this company and their food and service. Would recommend them again and again.

They really steered us in the right direction and elevated the food menu we were going for. LOVED working with them and will be sure to recommend to anyone in need of a 5 star catering service.

They don't collect the final remainder until the end of the night, so I gave a blank check to my wedding planner to pay them. They ended up charging me $2,000 more than what my contract said. When I called to discuss it, they explained that some of the prices had increased, which I completely understand, but we had 5+ phone calls in the weeks leading up to the wedding and they could have explained the increase at any point in time. They ultimately refunded me $800 but that wasn't until I was in tears.

great to work with. The food was full of flavor, fresh and was served hot! The servers did check on the two of us during our cocktail hour while we were taking pictures and made sure to set aside some appetizers as well as get us both a beverage which was much appreciated. The food was great, the staff was professional and they were great to work with!

While we appreciate the challenges of holding a wedding during Covid, and are so grateful to the many vendors who helped to make our daughter’s wedding day so special, unfortunately Catering by Kelly’s was not one of them. As one of the biggest expenditures on your wedding day, I would take your dollars elsewhere!

I had a different experience than many others who have posted reviews. I want to preface this review by acknowledging that we are in a nation-wide staffing shortage, so I appreciate the Catering by Kelly's staff members who are probably working double-time because of this. That being said, they seemed severely understaffed at our wedding and it made the service quite slow and frustrating. Water and wine glasses were only filled once during dinner (nearly 2 hours total). People started to get up from their tables in search of water and wine. There were only 2-3 servers passing out entrees to 170 guests - they were trying so hard to get the food out that one server actually tripped and fell down with a tray of food. None of these issues were the end of the world, but I found it especially frustrating because one of the reasons we chose Catering by Kelly's is because they expressed so much confidence in their ability to do a plated dinner at a large wedding. The communication leading up to the wedding was efficient - but slightly unpleasant. We felt rushed and somewhat unwelcome during our tasting. My questions were met with a condescending tone and over-confidence in the team's abilities. The food was solid (the beef tenderloin is actually delicious - need to give credit where credit is due). All in all, Catering by Kelly's did a fine job. They have very competitive prices and good food. The service was a bummer and the communication was cold.

credible job. The appetizer display was beautiful and the bruschetta was to die for. His staff went above and beyond and took appetizers to the dressing room for the bridal party to enjoy, without us asking. They thought of everything. Staff came out to bring drinks to my husband and I while were taking photos at the venue. They orchestrated the champagne toast perfectly. We used them for bar and catering. For the bar, we did specialty drinks which they made and were well stocked of. We did a plated dinner and they were so efficient with serving 170 people and making sure everyone was served at the same time. I have been to weddings where the first people to receive meals were already done eating before the final table received their meals. This was by far not the case with Kelly’s. They were incredible. Many guests told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had and we definitely agree. I have gone to two weddings they catered and the food is unsurpassed. We did a duet plate of tenderloin and chicken moutarde with Gouda potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Even the vegetarian risotto had rave reviews. There are not enough stars to explain how amazing they are.

y.” Dan had prepared four different chicken dishes, salmon, risotto, pasta and two different salads for us to try. We were so impressed! All the meals were excellent and he let us take home whatever food we couldn't finish. We chose three fantastic entrée options for our guests: chicken moutarde, grilled salmon and vegetable risotto. Smoked gouda redskin mashed potatoes and asparagus with fire-roasted sweet peppers were the delicious sides. The wonderful salad we chose had organic spring greens, a pear infused white balsamic vinaigrette and was topped with goat cheese, dried cherries and toasted almonds. During cocktail hour, five amazing hors d’oeuvres were served: 1) a chef’s display of cheeses, olives, fruits and crackers, 2) bruschetta with fresh pesto, tomatoes, capers, garlic relish, feta cheese and tapenade, 3) swedish meatballs, 4) baked vegetable stuffed mushrooms, and 5) assorted mini croissant sandwiches. As a late night snack, three different flat bread pizzas were served: traditional, pesto with tomato and mozzarella and wild mushroom with asiago cheese. Catering by Kelly’s knocked it out of the park! The food was outstanding, it was beautifully presented and the service was terrific. So many guests told us how much they loved the food and how impressed they were by the service. We were also very happy with the bartenders, the way they made our signature cocktails and the wine service they provided during dinner. Most importantly, all the food and drinks were served safely to a large group of people during this COVID pandemic. All the servers and bartenders wore masks and gloves and sneeze guards were put up at the appetizer table and bar. Catering by Kelly’s was so professional and we could tell they really love what they do. Thank you Dan Kelly and the rest of the Catering by Kelly’s team! Thank you for being such an important part of our big day. We are so happy we chose you as our wedding caterer! We highly recommend Catering by Kelly’s for your next catered event!

help us plan a unique, small wedding. They have clearly done a lot of weddings and are very good at what they do. They were even willing to travel out to Indian River for us, one of the few caterers in the area that was willing to do that. We unfortunately didn’t get to have our wedding due to COVID but Kelly’s was graceful in handling our cancellation and I would highly recommend you book them sooner than later since they are in high demand.

pecial ordered a specific item for our menu! Our tasting was spot on with the flavors we would taste on our big day! The day of the event was executed flawlessly. The Catering by Kelly's team on-site was a level of service i could only dream of. They were kind, quick, punctual and fun! We were assigned a personal server for just myself and my groom and she went out of her way to make our night special. Consistently checking on us to see if we needed a beverage, water, food and to make sure we were eating! I felt like royalty! The food displays and plated meals were all on time, generous portions and fresh. I would highly recommend Catering by Kelly's to anyone in the Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties looking for a caterer.

Also, we flew in cakes from Milk Bar in NYC and he gladly received them, stored then and brought them to the venue for us ... like I said, never was there a ? that caught him off guard or a request he couldn't handle with ease Food: we had the duet plate of prime rib and Parmesan encrusted fish with Gouda potatoes and season veggies in a tent. Guests could not believe how hot the food was and some folks even said it was some of the best food they’ve had at a wedding! Margie and I absolutely loved it and couldn’t have been more proud of what we served. Service: All of our guests mentioned how attentive and “in the moment” the servers and bartenders were for our event. Food was great but having people who were invested in the magic of a wedding day was amazing. Collaboration: this was another characteristic that I hadn’t taken into account enough until it rained our entire wedding day and we needed to call some serious audibles (ie serve alcohol as of 440pm instead of 630, having to run and grab more alcohol at 930). Given dan and Kris have such a good relationship ... they were able to tag team everything the whole day and everything went off perfectly!
