of our rental needs. Upon final payment all communication went out the window. From day one we received confirmation that all of our order would be delivered two days prior to our event. We made arrangements to be in town for the delivery of our tent and rental items (tables, chairs, etc.). The tent arrived and was set up by midafternoon on the day everything was scheduled to arrive. We proceeded to wait the remainder of the day for the rest of the order, which ultimately never arrived. We called numerous times throughout the day trying to figure out where our order was, and we got the run around every time, but they kept telling us they did see all of the communication and notes in our file stating that everything would be delivered the same day. We finally got a hold of the Manager who proceeded to tell us that the two parts of the order never get delivered on the same day, and that something that they didn't do. She also stated that she did not see any communication or notes stating same day delivery despite them seeing it in previous phone calls. After a long run around and a lot of arguing she ended up agreeing to refund us the delivery fee for our inconvenience and admitted to their mistake. She then told us we were the first delivery the next day but refused to give any other information about when the items would arrive. The next morning around 10:30 am the rest of our rental items arrived and the condition of the chairs when they finally arrived was horrendous. They were covered in a thick layer of dust and not ready to immediately host our guests. We ended up having to individually wipe down each of the 250 chairs so that they could be used. We pointed this out to the Manager in an email and she has yet to acknowledge the poor quality of their product even now a month removed. Two weeks post incident we still had not received a refund of the delivery fee and when I contacted her regarding it she refunded the improper amount, which eventually she corrected. It was a tremendous headache to an otherwise perfect day. We would advise anyone we know to not work with them. If anything, go to them for all of the planning and figure out what you want and then find another company to purchase it all from.

airs to use on the beach for her wedding at Pennfield Point in Fairfield, Ct. She made numerous telephone calls to confirm the chair rental and that we would pick them up and return them ourselves. The wedding was last Saturday, August 25 and since Durants closes Saturday, we were to pick up the chairs Friday, August 24 between their 9:00 am opening and 5:00 pm closing. As I drove to Durants Friday morning my daughter called to confirm I was on my way and was told the chairs had yet to be delivered from Durants Danbury location to the Ridgefield Location and therefore we could not come until after 1:00 pm but before 5:00 pm...their closing time. At 4:00 pm as I was on my way again to Ridgefield, she yet again called and was told by a Durants employee that the chairs had arrived but were in "terrible, unrentable condition" and she could therefore not rent them to us. Her suggestion was that I drive an hour to their Danbury store and pick them up there during the Friday evening weekend rush hour traffic as long as I arrived before 5:00 pm - closing time, and a virtual impossibility. My daughter suggested that because Durants had erred, they should deliver the chairs Saturday to the Pennfield Point wedding venue. The Durants employee said she would discuss that with her manager and contact my daughter before 5:00 pm. That was the last communication we had with Durants Party Rental. We had a beautiful wedding despite Durants incompetence and ineptitude although we had no chairs on the beach. We have yet to receive an apology, or any type of compensation from Durants, and would never recommend them to anyone. They are a perfect example of customer NO SERVICE and we advise anyone planning an event to work the the many other party rental companies available.

hem to send me an updated invoice, and one addition didn't make it to the wedding. We got 9 farm tables from them -- 1 was broken (a piece of wood on the side was literally split in half), and we had to tighten 3 other tables ourselves. The guys unloaded the truck and literally just had to screw the legs on, and somehow didn't notice that one was broken and didn't care to finish others. They also wouldn't carry them into the tent, so they put them together and then we had to carry them ourselves. They also delivered the wrong color chair, but at least gave us a big discount on that. They're conveniently located, but I'd look elsewhere.

was little disappointed with the communication. I felt like since I wasn't a huge account I didn't get the attention I might have gotten elsewhere. I work in Bridal Fashion Customer Service and I would be in big trouble if I was ever unresponsive! That being said, overall, I was happy with Durant's. I would use them again and recommend them, especially if you are using an event planner who can communicate on your behalf.
