So, I am not one to gush about things and not usually the type to write reviews. However, I can't really say enough about how wonderful my experience was here. This is a very high end store, but everyone I encountered was so nice, relaxed, an...d friendly. My first time in the store was my first day shopping for dresses. My Mom and I came in in the late afternoon and we were tired and overwhelmed. However, the store was so beautiful and quiet that I immediately felt less stressed. As I walked in, I saw a dress that was featured in the salon and knew that that was the dress that I wanted to wear for my wedding. It was the Sareh Nouri Neda gown and it was gorgeous.
I had come into the store to try on Amsale sample gowns, which the store was discontinuing. I tried some of these on. Then I saw that they also carry Vera Wang (and very few stores do), so I tried on some of those just to see and some other beautiful dresses as well.
I just had to try on that Neda gown, despite my determination to buy a less expensive sample. Until I tried on that dress, I was disappointed about wedding dress shopping. I am rather petite and I did not want a huge, heavy dress. I was determined to feel comfortable and wear the dress, rather than having it wear me. This gown was like nothing else I'd tried on. It was so light and ethereal and the fabric was amazing. It was also made in New Jersey and not overseas!!!
I loved it, but it was my first day shopping and this was a big decision. I went home and googled the designer. I was so shocked and impressed to read that this was her first collection... ever! At the time, this brand was only available in three stores in the country. I e-mailed the company and asked some questions and was told to call and "talk to Sareh." What? Talk to the designer? My Mom ended up calling and asking some questions and Sareh was really nice.
We then went to a bunch of other stores on other days, including a hugely famous one in Manhattan where they film a certain TV show. I knew after that that I wanted to go back to the low-key, no pressure store (Exquisite Bride!) where I saw the amazing and unique Neda gown! I went in and Sareh was there to help me try on dresses. In fact, it had been her who had helped me try on dresses the first time we were in the store too and I had no idea! She never mentioned to me that she had designed some of the dresses. I was so surprised and impressed by that. There was zero pressure to buy her dress or any dress, for that matter. I happily bought my beautiful dress!
They had great communication, sending me letters to update me on the status of my gown. Megan, who works at the front of the store, was super nice and responded to e-mails immediately. Laurinda, the seamstress, was also very sweet and so capable. The dress ended up being perfect and more than everything I'd hoped and dreamed. The experience was calm, smooth and professional.
I would recommend this salon to anyone and I will recommend it to everyone! Thanks to Sareh, Megan, and Laurinda- you are the best!
