I had been waiting with anticipation to get my wedding dress, and Karol and Lydia were so much help! Lydia knew exactly what to get that fit my personality and body type! They were the sweetest people and they helped us extremely! i got the wedding dress of my dreams and i would definitely recommend them!
I was so excited to support a local business in Starkville. They had the exact suit I wanted. But time & time again I was let down. They made my experience so bad. Initially I asked to be in the text thread for my groomsmen. Karol & Jacqueline assured me that they would handle it all & I have no need to worry with it. Well covid happens & our fittings cannot be done, & they tell me don’t worry there is no rush. Well lo & behold, I get a text saying “you are fully responsible for getting all measurements from your groomsmen” well if they would’ve put me in the text thread I would already know who to be getting in touch with. THEN as they list off the ones who did not send them in, almost all of them already had!!! They hemmed my suit cuffs by just folding them under. My pants did not fit at all. We ordered 14 suits & almost all didn’t fit. Every problem I had, it was so hard to get in touch with anyone. It had to come down to me sending Facebook messages angrily to the owner. But everytime I spoke to Karol, she loved to laugh at me & tell me her own sob story about things going wrong in hers & jacquelines life. That Jacqueline was so busy with her wedding & they are so busy because they are moving the store to a different location. NOT MY PROBLEM. I had my own problems & she wouldn’t even listen to them without cutting me off to tell me hers. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. Horrible experience.
After having my bridal appointment scheduled for two weeks in advanced(02/04) they call me less than an hr before yo let me know hey had over booked and could not see me. When I had booked I had informed them I would be driving from New Orleans and would be buying that weekend. Highly unprofessional would NOT recommend for out of town Brides!!!
I had just gotten engaged and had no idea what style dress I wanted. I went into It’s a Date to get an idea and found my dream dress! Everyone was super helpful especially because I was clueless. I would definitely recommend them in the future!
In a nutshell, we made sure everyone was accounted for and all tuxs ordered well before the actual date. They tried to charge me to order the groom another jacket when it did not fit after he traveled 2 hours before work so that they could order another one. The groom is the main person in the wedding! Now I have to find another tux for the groom two days before the wedding. The girl laughed in my face on the phone when we were trying to figure out what else to do. Thanks for failing me 2 days before our big day! The owner is nice but niceness doesn't fix my wedding day or my pictures.
They did my entire bridal party wrong. First they did not honor a advertisement that was on their website. Saying it was old...( If you Rent 12 tux's , you can get 2 free).
Second they lied like the bridesmaids dresses were made. They ordered the dresses and all of them were to BIG...
They overcharged for them $239 for a $50 dress due to the material was thin, then they come up with the bogus policy saying they will not release ANY DRESSES OR TUX'S until the entire bridal party paid... They did not alter any of them and they released the dresses 2 days before the wedding to where no one had time to go and get the dresses correctly. One of my bridesmaid dress was stitched up with a piece of fabric they took off on of my other bridesmaid dress that was not like the rest of them and they stitched it to the back of her dress. It was horrible. The dresses was dragging the floor and all of them were to big and they did not even say I'm Sorry or try to correct or give one of my bridesmaid her money back from that botched up dress they had stored on one of their hangers and then charged her more for it. I would not do business with ITS A DATE, and I am letting all my people know to go elsewhere. "Its a Color Thing"
I didn't know anything about getting a tux!! I honestly didn't know what style I even liked, but the owner, Karol, never broke a sweat. Everything she done was genuine. She made it her personal mission to make sure we get the best quality and satisfaction out of our experience. I literally spoke to every tux shop and they were more worried about when I would make my deposit instead of what would look best on me. I watched as our bridal party fell apart and people dropped in and out. I watched as people would pay late, and in expected to hear there was nothing they could do, but she refused to give up. I have had school teachers and friends that have never spent this kind of time on something that didn't personally involve them, but Ms.Karol told me do not stress, she will take care of them and for us to focus on the wedding. I walked in thinking I was buying a tux ,but she reminded me so much of my mom I felt like I got that in return. Someone could offer me a suit free whenever I wanted, but I would turn them down just so I could buy one from It's A Date!!! I can't speak for everyone else, but if ANYONE says they were anything less than satisfied with their experience, THEY'RE LYING!!! The wedding was beautiful, but the feeling I had when I seen my wife in that dress.....it came from It's A Date!!!
It's a Date is amazing. Karol, the owner, is so personal with each bride and can customize dresses to fit your needs and wants. She made me feel so special and comfortable during my appointment. I got my dream dress and had the best experience!!
Karol and her staff were wonderful to work with. I was, admittedly, an extremely indecisive bride and they handled it wonderfully. We ended up finding the dress of my dreams, which was the opposite of everything I thought I wanted.
They have alterations in house (her name is Katelyn) and she was great as well and extremely reasonable.
I highly recommend going to It's a Date if you are looking for a wonderful bridal experience.
