sold after the taste test that we didn’t even bother scheduling any other caterers. We invited a few friends to attend the taste test and they admitted that the wedding day food was even tastier than the taste test! On the wedding day, we’ve never heard so many compliments about wedding food, as the food aspect can get overlooked since there’s so much else going on during the day. It’s either no one talks about meals unless it’s really good or really bad (for example other weddings that we attended this year ran out of food at the buffet for the last tables, or it was just bad from food being mass cooked). This wasn’t the case though, as everything was delicious and warm. From the hor dourves (flatbread pizza cooked in OVE’s brick oven, and fresh oysters (!!!)), to the main entrees like tri tip, bbq chicken, penne pasta, and even down to the grilled veggies and cornbread. There was no bad item. We gave an accurate headcount and folks still had seconds but there were still trays of leftovers, which were greatly appreciated at the after party (still good even cold haha) and the following day.
Denise made the whole process so easy to work with, especially since meals is one of the most expensive wedding items to budget for. She helped narrow down our menu and her menu suggestions were on point. She sent us reminders of what’s needed next and coordinated directly with our other vendors too (Encore Events for rentals, Lisa Bravo for coordination, and OVE for venue). Her existing relationships with our other vendors really smoothed things out. For example, for Encore Events, once we finalized our rentals (tables, chairs, flatware, etc.), she was able to add that invoice to the total of the catering costs since those 2 companies have a long standing relationship. And when the rentals count looked off, she noticed it and double checked with us first. She also helped lower the counts on some of the rentals to help us save money since she knew realistically that we didn’t need that many extras of certain items. Another plus is that Lombardi’s allowed us to pay whenever we wanted so I called in monthly to make payments rather than paying off a huge chunk at once. We paid each time with a credit card so we got back a considerable amount of Chase points since it’s considered a restaurant expense.
Their attention to detail was unmatched and Denise made it was easily one of our favorite vendors we worked with. She was very responsive and was always ready to help or answer any questions we would have. Highly recommended and thank you so much for satisfying all our tastebuds! We’ll be returning to your store front whenever we’re back in Petaluma.
