ad to switch venues, I wanted to ensure that I kept them for my new venue location. Amy Baird and the team over at Maddalena's stuck by my side for over TWO YEARS to ensure they were there for me on my big day. I received encouraging emails from Amy, check-in's, and updates. She was so communicative and always so positive. Amy is the real deal - someone who truly wants you to have your magical day and will do anything she can to ensure you will. If I could personally endorse Amy for President, I would. She is THAT good.
Now, onto the food. From our first tasting, we were blown away by how incredible the food was. You know how you attend some weddings and it just tastes...like wedding food? Bland, nothing special? NOT WITH MADDALENA'S! Their food is absolutely phenomenal. We had a chicken, beef and salmon option with the best potatoes, I truly don't even know what was IN those potatoes but I'm convinced it was heaven. The couscous, the vegetables...it was all so freaking good that my taste buds are still salivating. Our guests RAVED about the food, saying it was the best wedding food they have ever had. They went out of their way to provide a vegan meal for a bridesmaid of mine, and kept the buffet line flowing and our guests happy. I mean, I just want to do our wedding day over and over again thanks to them.
Please, PLEASE use Maddalena's for your next wedding or catering event, you will not be disappointed. And if you have the absolute pleasure of working with Amy and her team, you are in the best hands. During a season where so many vendors were met with challenges on how to meet clients needs, Maddalena’s made sure we never experienced any of that stress. Most importantly, the food was PHENOMENAL- our guests still talk about it to this day! The presentation of each dish was beautiful and artistic, and set it apart from the many other catering vendors we had tried. rt notice, even though they had other weddings that day. We met with her and got an in-person menu explanation, then taste testing with the chef, Matt. He was so knowledgeable about what meals travelled well and when my husband didn't like the topping on the chicken (since he doesn't like mushrooms, even though I LOVE mushrooms), the chef was willing to switch the sauce with the one we both loved.
The week of the event, Amy and her assistant came out to my private resident venue (yes - my covid venue) and scoped out the best spot for the buffet line and serving stations. She dropped off the linens for us prior too and was willing to pick them up after the event was done.
On the day of the wedding, Amy offered to get my husband and I our plates so we didn't have to stress about waiting in line! HOW AWESOME! Seriously they went above and beyond. Also, to top it off... they have the option of doing late night pizza delivery through Peppinos ... which we did and it was amazing! 10/10 recommend them, and sooo glad I did my "Covid wedding" because it was better than my original plan thanks to Maddalena's.

At our tasting, she suggested some really fun ideas around the cocktail hour and late night snack. One thing you should know is that you are not necessarily limited to the menu that is on the website. Amy helped us customize some of the meals and also sourced special items, like popcorn for our popcorn bar and donuts and cider, from vendors around Grand Rapids. We found the pricing to be very reasonable compared with other caterers in the area and the quality of the food was excellent. Our guests raved about the food and felt that it really made our day unique. On the wedding day, everything went exactly as planned and not a single detail was missed. I sincerely cannot recommend Maddalena's highly enough.

She was an excellent communicator and even responded to our emails when she was on vacation! She could not have made us feel more special on the day of our wedding. She was the first to come up and ask us what we wanted from the bar as soon as we sat down, she surprised the bride with a special entrée (she remembered how much we loved it during the tasting!), and even had a whole pizza waiting for us at the end of the night! We had half wraps, with their homemade chips (which may be the best thing I've ever tasted), spinach salad and fruit salad, with a sangria bar. All of the guests raved about the food and how delicious it was! The turkey pesto wrap was definitely my favorite! I really can't say enough great things about Maddalena's, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great caterer as well as an adorable event space!

She answered so many questions for us via email and met with us in person to help iron out the final details. Choosing all your bar options can be overwhelming but Amy made the process so smooth and always made us feel welcome to ask as many questions as we needed. Every detail was taken care of and everything went perfectly! We felt that their prices were extremely reasonable, and we loved that our buffet package included appetizers served during cocktail hour, table service, cake service, and linens. We also appreciated being able to customize our bar package and add signature drinks to show off our personalities.
Their catering coordinator, Amy, was an absolute DREAM to work with!!! Partnering with her was our favorite part about hiring Maddalena’s, which is saying a lot because the food was delicious! She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful, which allowed my fiancé and I to feel completely confident that everything was under control. She went above and beyond to help us in so many ways: she created a separate kids’ buffet for our younger guests, customized our bar package so we got exactly what we wanted at a great price, and stepped in to avoid us having the wrong color table linens when the linen company goofed up (without me even knowing about it until afterwards!) We can’t recommend Amy and Maddalena’s outstanding food and service enough!
