I was told I needed to wait until five weeks before my wedding to make any changes to the initial proposal which I found difficult considering there were many questions I needed answered prior to that time and wanted to have a better idea of the final cost to budget other items, but couldn't. I'm a very organized bride so I emailed Phoebe exactly 5 weeks prior and did not receive a response for weeks which was even more concerning considering Google reports the business as permanently closed. Phoebe finally got back to me about 2 weeks before my wedding and we were making changes up until the last minute, which I found extremely stressful. The flowers on the day of the wedding were very disappointing for the price.. They were wilted, extremely sparse, some items not as promised in the proposal, and the colors were way off (e.g. the white roses were very tiny and lime green). You take a huge risk with Wedding flowers since you are unable to see them beforehand. Do not put your trust in Opalia for your wedding flowers.

to reflect my summer wedding, but beyond that I was not very specific about what I wanted for the bouquets or centerpieces. At least not until a couple months before the wedding, when I found a picture of a bouquet on pinterest that I loved. Meghan turned my pretty vague ideas into absolutely gorgeous flowers, from the bouquets to the boutonnieres to the corsages for our moms to the centerpieces (which doubled as flowers down the aisle and meant less wasted flowers when the day was over) to the loose flowers for our cake! And to top it all off, my husband and I found a somewhat blurry photo online of a chuppah (wedding canopy for a Jewish wedding) that we absolutely loved. We showed it to Meghan and she said it would be no problem. That said, and even though we definitely trusted her, I had somewhat prepared myself that it was probably impossible for her to really make our chuppah look like that photo - we were so wrong! When we walked into our venue on the day of the wedding we were absolutely floored by the most gorgeous chuppah we could have imagined!! Not only that, when I asked Meghan if there was a way to recycle the flowers after the event, she told me that Opalia partners with a company called BloomAgainBklyn (bloomagainbklyn.org) to donate all their old flowers. You should, without a doubt, book Opalia for your wedding!

Erin ended up managing my event as there was a change in staff, and I was extremely pleased with the transition as well as her flexibility, eagerness, and diligence in providing the vision that was first determined during our consultation. She really went above and beyond, our arrangements were even more beautiful than I could have imagined and our guests were blown away. The flowers were fresh, lush, and lasted at least a week after the wedding. My bouquet was particularly gorgeous, I received compliments on it the whole day. All at a reasonable price that fit within my budget. I would definitely recommend Opalia for any event.

We had planned to pick up our flowers but as luck would have it Opalia was closed on our wedding day so we were offered to have our flowers delivered to us for free as compensation for the inconvenience. Our flowers arrived at the exact time we were told literally to the minute. If ever I need flowers again I will certainly go here. Helped to make my wedding day seamless!

I would not trust that details you discuss with anyone else actually get relayed to Phoebe, unless you see them on your contract very specifically.

In the end we ended up renting their old antique bottles and they placed in each bottle a small, simple arrangement of white, dark purple and light purple flowers along with sprigs of a chamomile and a beautiful green called Lady's Mantle. We couldn't picture it but trusted the florist and when I got to the venue was so thrilled. It was beautiful - absolutely stunning. Exactly what we wanted. Only thing is we may have ordered too many flower arrangements and could have saved some money had we ordered less. Ah well, we were still very happy.

COLORS I liked because afterwards I could not get her to understand that I wanted her suggestions on less pricier flowers. I could not for the life of me get her to suggest any flowers other than whatever I named. I am not a florist clearly I don't know what's in season, what's pricey and what isn't. She does, but I could not get her to tell me. In the end I told her what I was comfortable spending and asking what she could provide. She stuck to the 3 flowers I named...so in the end I got the wrong color flowers (yellow was only to be used in the bridesmaids bouquets, nothing else) and WAY too much green filler in the centerpieces. So...if you go for Opalia Flowers, ASK for Phoebe. Everyone seems to love her.
