We had our wedding at the Historic Brookstown Inn and loved it! All of the staff members were friendly, accommodating, and helpful throughout each step. We loved having access to so much indoor & outdoor space. The venue is cozy and it felt like an extended vacation staying on-site with our loved ones all weekend. It makes a big difference being able to stay in one place for the day of your wedding. All the food served by the venue was delicious. Our guests loved the venue’s wine & cheese events and the cookies & milk given out before bed. We enjoyed all the exposed brick & downtown location for our photos. We had a smaller wedding, but there’s plenty of room to spread out regardless. Awesome spot to host a wedding!
Words cannot express how happy we were to have our wedding at Brookstown Inn. From the very first tour, check-ins along the way, to the weekend of Allison and her staff went above and beyond to answer questions, help us plan, and ultimately execute our special day. One of the reasons we selected Brookstown was the option to flip the wedding indoors in the event of inclement weather. When our wedding day decided to be the coldest of the year the staff was able to help us go with plan B and arrange a beautiful ceremony.
The food and drink options were great and ultimately incredibly affordable compared to many other locations we looked at.
Our guests loved the unique rooms and the historic brick building and courtyard make for gorgeous photos. I’m so happy we booked with Brookstown and can’t wait to come back for a staycation soon.
We booked the Brookstown as it was such an interesting esthetic and comprehensive package. They handled hotel accommodations, ceremony and reception spaces. They also supplied all tables and seating with set up including linens, plates and cutlery. Lastly the catering was phenomenal. To add to my list of compliments the weekend of our wedding ended up being a hurricane and they helped us coordinate moving everything inside. Very pleased and would strongly recommend.
Any questions?
Allison made our experience with the Brookstown so so easy. We had a small wedding ceremony there last year and a large ceremony and reception this year. They were flexible with setup, food was delicious, cake-cutting and linens were included, the staff was awesome (the bartenders were everyone’s best friends). Our room block was easy to book with no charges if they weren’t filled and we had access to the reception room for setup the entire day. Also, the photo opportunities are endless and unique! Book at the Brookstown, you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you, Rebecca and staff, for hosting our minimony at the Brookstown! Rebecca’s attention to detail and responsiveness was so helpful for minimizing my stress with planning during Covid. We felt so well cared for on our wedding day!
Brookstown Inn
-Our wedding experience with the Brookstown Inn was nothing by positive. From the beginning my husband and I knew it was the perfect venue for us. The outside courtyard was the perfect setting for our dream ceremony and reception and the indoor options were a bonus in case weather forced us inside. I appreciate the flexibility the Brookstown and it’s staff offered in the planning since we had to have a plan A, B, and C due to the possibility of weather. Rebecca was our event contact at the venue and she even took the time to walk through all three plans with us throughout the process and at our final walk through. She is phenomenal! Rebecca is a very calming person which came in handy when crunch time hit. Every time I would start to get a bit overwhelmed we would meet with her or I would talk with her and she could calm my nerves without trying. My mom and wedding coordinator both raved after the wedding about how helpful Rebecca was the day before and day of while they were setting up. Weather did cause us to move the reception inside, but the Brookstown staff was nothing but accommodating even not forcing me to make a decision about the ceremony location since they knew I wanted to be outside and they held off to set up after the rain had passed (it poured all day until about 2.5 hours before the ceremony).
Favorite things about the Brookstown:
-The staff: Everyone was friendly, helpful, informative, and genuinely kind. Since it was a bit of a DIY wedding I found myself visiting the venue multiple times with my coordinator, mom, and various vendors trying to get an eye for how to decorate and plan. Since it is a public hotel it was easy to slide in and get a measurement even. Every time we went we were greeted by polite front desk staff and offered help or access to most rooms we needed. The day of the wedding it was all hands on deck which we did not anticipate but very much appreciated.
-Our guests could stay there! We had a lot of out of town guests so we ended up with half the hotel. Everyone LOVED the charm of the hotel. Breakfast was included, they do wine and cheese in the evening, and hot cookies and milk at bedtime.
-The food!!! The Brookstown has their own catering department and the food is AMAZING! We had trouble deciding what to serve because everything we tried at our tasting was so good. Our guests have since raved about how delicious it was, especially the prime rib.
-What is included: For the price we couldn’t find another venue that came close to this. Setup and breakdown of tables and chairs, linens, all dinnerware, serveware, and glasses were provided. The Brookstown also provided excellent servers and bartenders for our cocktail hour and reception.
-Getting ready there: The rooms are all larger than the average hotel room, but the groom and I both got suites to stay onsite the night prior where we had plenty of space for our wedding parties to hang out and get ready the day of the wedding.
-Dinner during cocktail hour! The Brookstown manager served my husband and I dinner himself in the bridal suite. We decided to take a few moments for ourselves and wanted to eat during this time so we could talk with guests while they ate dinner at the reception. This was the best decision we made in our entire wedding (aside from picking the Brookstown). Food was delivered hot and delicious along with a bottle of wine to a table that was beautifully set just for us in private. It was wonderful!
Many of our extended family stayed here for our wedding, and it was perfect, both in terms of price and proximity. The Brookstown Inn has so much charm, which my husband's family loves. On top of that, it comes with a delicious breakfast and evening cocktail hour. Great place for a wedding block or just to visit.
I cannot say enough good thing about this venue, I was perfect for my wedding! The place was beautiful, the staff was great and very accommodating, and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend Brookstown for any your wedding.
Fantastic staff, beautiful venue on its own, can’t ask for a better experience
My wife and I had our reception at the Brookstown Inn in April. The team there was great during all of the planning and preparation for the event and did a great job accommodating our requests. However, during the actual reception they destroyed our wedding cake while cutting it (causing us to lose half of our cake) and the staff during the reception didn't follow what we had previously agreed to in regards to the food. I think what disappointed us the most was the response of the Brookstown Inn, particularly in regards to their mistakes with our cake.
Overall, it's a beautiful place to get married but we were underwhelmed by customer service.
The Brookstown Inn was such an amazing place to have our wedding- the food was wonderful, the venue was unique and had great character, and it was so nice to have a great venue that was also a hotel (we had a large number of out of town guests). Allison, the Director of Sales, was the one that helped us coordinate most everything to do with the venue and is WONDERFUL. I can't wait to return to the Brookstown as a guest, and can't say enough good things about it.
My husband and I were married at the Brookstown this June. We are originally from Ohio so the majority of our guests were out of towners, it was a no brainer to choose a venue that had on site accommodations. We got so much more from the Brookstown! Their staff was beyond amazing and helpful throughout the ENTIRE process - from initial planning to the very end of our reception and even the next morning! Our friends and family were blown away with the rooms, breakfast, beautiful grounds and hospitality they were shown. The space is so beautiful on its own - but they are open to almost any decor to make your day your dream come true. I really can't express my gratitude towards everyone there, or how perfect our entire weekend was there - but it is definitely a must for any trip or wedding in WSNC!
This hotel gave us the space we wanted for an outside ceremony and indoor reception. The hotel had a lot of character and was a beautiful space. The staff was easy to work with.
The courtyard setting was lovely for the ceremony and their ballroom was spacious enough for 100 guests. I wasn't thrilled that they booked all of their rooms for a convention without calling to let me have a chance to book some for my guests. Overall they did a great job for the best value in town. Linens were included. They gave great recommendations for food.
We held our rehearsal dinner at the Brookstown. It was perfectly suited for our barbeque rehearsal dinner. Easy to find, easy to set up, etc.
Very nice. It is the perfect place if you are looking for southern historical charm.

I have been at the Brookstown Inn for 9 years! My degree was in hospitality management focusing on hotel management at East Carolina. I enjoy hotel sales, as well as, meetings and events. I have worked a variety of different events including multiple weddings. The Brookstown is a great place to find 3 things: venue, catering services, and hotel accommodations. I am proud to call Winston-Salem my home. My husband, Evan, is also a Winston native and we reside here with our 3 “babies” – Mila, Mishka, and Midas.
