Get everything they say in writing. Be aware that they will try to overwhelm you with pressure and their sales tactics are dirty. The chairs and tables are old - every old. They do not follow through on things for the event. They promised handtrucks. Nope - had to ask for them. AV Appointment. No show, had to chase them down. Making it so you can drive on the space when you're setting up - every time you need a car to drive, you have to contact them, which adds about 10 - 20 minutes on to your time for waiting.
The leadership is just attrocious - vindictive, threatening - much like dealing with sorority girls who never got over having to leave school. They threatened to cancel my event regularly, causing so much stress. Just cannot say enough how much these people are bullying scam artists, void of customer service. Don't want you wedding here unless you want to have some thug who looks like he's in a street gang hanging around treating people like they're about to get arrested.
What an absolute self serving VINDICTIVE group of unprofessionals. The space is dilapidated and I had to pick up so much trash. But, nothing is worse than the staff here. You can't trust them and if you say anything, they vindictively start threatening you.
The Tivoli Turnhalle was the most magical of places to have our daughter’s wedding reception on January 4, 2020!! It was perfect for 180 guests and still had room for a gigantic dance floor without having to move a table or a guest. The stage for the band was perfect, up a few feet and the sound was great! We had a lighting company come in and provide overhead lighting, up lit lighting on the brick walls and 3 marquis letters in front of the stage. It was magical. Having the balcony area upstairs not only provided a separate area for cocktails, appetizers and a bar, there was also room for a photo booth. People enjoyed the balcony area after dinner also - it was fun to view the reception from up above. The staff at the Tivoli was amazing easy to work with - very accommodating with special requests and the security provided was gracious and friendly. With all the venues out there these days - the Tivoli Turnhalle was a special place to find!
What an amazing wedding venue! We got married here in May and it was the perfect space. The venue coordinator handled everything and was flexible with us. The stage is perfect for those who want to have a band at the wedding and you just cant beat the location. It looked perfect!
Tivoli Turnhalle is truly a hidden gem in Denver. Think Mile High Station but WAY cheaper and more intimate. The exposed stone wall was a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony, the upper level was perfect for a cocktail reception, and the main level suited 130 guests plus a big dance floor just right. Added perk was having Tivoli Brewing right next door for a one-stop-shop rehearsal dinner the night before as well as having the Springhill Suites just steps away. Aurari has done a great job creating more of a traditional campus feel by adding the quad in front of the Tivoli building which is great for photos of the venue and downtown. Loved the history of this space and all the character it brought to our big day.
We had our 125 guest wedding in Turnhalle in the Tivoli building and it was absolutely wonderful. The price right and included the Historic Ninth Street Park which was the perfect spot for the ceremony. Our cocktail hour was upstairs on the balcony and the space is big with room for everything, photo booth, ice cream truck, buffet, bars, and plenty of room for dancing. We had a band which is a must have with such a wonderful stage. We also rented eTuk to transport guests from the hotel to ceremony to reception which worked out great. Love Tivoli!
We used the Turnhalle Ballroom for our ceremony and reception for 135 and it was INCREDIBLE!! The price is great, there aren't a ton of extras included in the price, but the price more than enough makes up for it. It requires so little in the way of decoration to really just make the room like a dream. LOVED IT!!! Guests loved it.
I used the Adirondacks Room at the Tivoli Student Union for both my ceremony and reception in Dec 2015, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I only had about 45 people so we all fit on the first floor (there's also a balcony type second floor) and they allowed me to set it up exactly how I wanted to so we never had to flip the room. The chairs, tables, and coat rack were all set up the day before and we were able to get into the room to set up and do a rehearsal the whole day. I didn't have to do much decorating because the room itself is beautiful, with giant copper vats and accents, and unique looking walls. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be! It would just be a little cramped for a lot more people than I had, however, and no one seemed to have vacuumed for a little while, the upstairs where we were before the ceremony had Doritos all over the floor - we just avoided them.
The Tivoli Turnhalle is a fabulous wedding venue at a remarkably low price. Located in Downtown Denver, the Turnhalle was once a German opera house. Now, it is inside the student union for the Auraria campus.
Best parts about the place: Turnhalle has a lot of character. There's a small, yet ornate, stage and a second floor balcony that wraps the ballroom. (We strung lights from the balcony - made for GREAT pics! The price is right (under $2,000) and the venue allows you to bring your own alcohol, which saves a fortune!
Drawbacks: I found it a bit difficult to work with the staff when planning the event. They were friendly, don't get me wrong, but they were hard to connect with (several emails and phone calls were often necessary to get their attention.)
We had both our ceremony (upstairs balcony) and reception (main floor) here - for about 150 guests. It was such a beautiful and unique venue - downtown urban feel, beautiful brick backdrop, spacious yet intimate. All we added was some globe-bulb sting lights across the balcony upstairs - got so many compliments! The event staff is great to work with and will take care of whatever you need. Bonus: very affordable and we were able to have the venue Friday night and all day Saturday - huge help!
this venue was perfect; it can easily accomodate a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception!
Great value too.
Provided a view of the city and it had a beautiful balcony;there is no kitchen or bridal suite
