Hayley Folk is a freelance writer and editor for The Knot. She is based in New York City and specializes in writing about all things sex, relationships, intimacy and lifestyle.
Experience
Although she primarily writes about sex and relationships, she also writes about grief, the LGBTQ+ community, personal narratives, women’s wellness stories and her travels around the world. She writes truthfully about her life, and is unapologetic about who she is. Her work has appeared in The Knot, Cosmopolitan, Refinery29, Men’s Health, Bustle and more. She is passionate about telling the stories that help people—the ones that make others feel less alone and provide a sense of understanding.
In her spare time, she can be found pursuing thrift stores, on an airplane somewhere, at a concert with her partner or working on her new podcast, Naked Folk—where she focuses on sex, relationships and the taboo topics everyone else avoids.
Education
In 2022, she completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at The New School in New York City, where she wrote her upcoming memoir. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from California Baptist University, where she won first place for the best features story at the Collegiate Baptist Association awards.
