Samantha Iacia is an Editor at The Knot Worldwide, where she specializes in writing articles about all things wedding style, from decor and flowers to fashion, jewelry, trends, and more. She has been writing about weddings since 2013 and got her start in the industry by profiling newlywed couples for her hometown newspaper.
Samantha splits her time between Washington, D.C. and Maryland, where she grew up. On an average day, you’ll find her going for a walk, rewatching one of the same three shows on Netflix, or wishing it was summer again as soon as the average daily temperature drops below 75 degrees.
Prior to joining The Knot Worldwide in 2015, Samantha wrote a weekly real weddings column for The Baltimore Sun, which involved meeting and interviewing newlywed couples from all across Maryland. It was then that she realized how much she loved writing about weddings and helping couples remember the best day of their lives. She was also a regular contributor for several (now defunct) local lifestyle magazines, where she styled and wrote shopping features focusing on fashion and home decor.
Samantha began her journalism career with editorial internships at Baltimore magazine and Baltimore Sun Media, where she did everything from covering breaking news and writing features stories to fact-checking, assisting at photo shoots, and posting to social media accounts (this was before social media manager jobs were a thing).
Samantha graduated from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she majored in journalism and minored in English literature. In her junior year, she spent a semester abroad studying digital journalism at Leeds Beckett University in Leeds, England.

Important Questions from The Knot:
Best advice for to-be-weds?
Go with your gut. Whether it’s choosing between two wedding vendors or picking your cake flavor, make the effort to really listen to your heart. It’s the best way to ensure that you’ll have no regrets.
What’s your all-time favorite wedding song?
“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston. Try to find a wedding where this song doesn’t get everyone on the dance floor singing at the top of their lungs (you won’t).
Dream celebrity wedding guest?
I love Renoir’s paintings—I’d want him to attend and create a custom portrait of my wedding.
Best wedding after party snack?
The only correct answer is doughnuts. I will eat them anywhere, anytime.
