The best venue ever! I fell In love with this venue at first sight, and they made sure my day was absolutely perfect. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was tough, but they were there for us every step of the way. Everyone told us it was the best wedding ever!
What a beautiful venue. We fell in love with the property 2 years ago when we had our first walkthrough and had our deposit placed before even driving away. The oak tree is a perfect tucked away backdrop for any sized wedding and we particularly loved the cottage that comes with the venue for the entire weekend. It was the perfect combination of rustic and whimsical. The property is like this magical getaway in the middle of nowhere that’s inviting your entire family over for a Sunday dinner under the string lights.
Their team did an amazing job making sure the property was set up properly for our wedding and we could not be more thankful to have chosen Field and Pond as the place we officially started our new life together.
Friendly, upbeat, professional group. All my dreams came true! Helped make my ideas a reality.
There is so much wonderful things i can say about F&P,Dahvie and Morgan. The location has so many options to for a ceremony site, dinner and dancing! The home on site was very comfortable, I wish I had a few more days to say and enjoy it more including the amazing views of the farm.We had a year to plan our daughters wedding and from the very beginning Davhie and Morgan were there to answer all of our questions before and after our site meetings with them.Forecast of rain for the day of our wedding,Morgan our event planner know her stuff, the whole entire event was switched around and she was on it! We were so grateful to have her execute our vision for the wedding even with the changes due to the rain. Morgan is a must have and truly a great help and stress reliever esp the day of the wedding. I left everything in her hands the day of and our family and even our guest said they were impressed with the staff of F&P and Jenn Robirds (Morgan) . I hope someday I will be able to attend a wedding at F&P so I can go back and visit the beautiful grounds and reminisce of my daughters wedding day.!
Dahvie and his crew did an exceptional job with the wedding. They know what they are doing, and made it a great day. I recommend Field & Pond for a great venue for any wedding!
I can't rave enough about Field and Pond. Dahvie the owner is so warm and welcoming and when I first saw the venue i knew that this is where we were getting married. Morgan, the Venue Manager, was so helpful throughout the whole entire process. They executed my vision perfectly the day of the wedding. The day that we checked in the groundskeeper was so friendly and my husband and I kept saying how OUTSTANDING the service and professionalism was. Field and Pond is quite literally a dream. Every little detail that was designed and decorated by Dahvie did not go unnoticed, I wanted to live there and never leave. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to the Field and Pond team and I hope someone else who I know gets married there too so I can go back!
I am a wedding planner and I had the privilege of working with clients that selected F&P for their May 2015 wedding. I joined them on their 2nd visit to the property and instantly fell in love...with the venue and the owner, Dahvie James. He is a true professional and more importantly, his is a partner in planning! He was so accommodating and constantly went above and beyond to meet the clients hopes and vision. The property is beautifully kept and provides a stunning backdrop for those looking for an upscale and breathtaking setting for their big day. An added bonus to this venue is the services that are included. The rentals of high end linens, tables, chairs, china and flatware as well as set-up, truly set this property above the rest. I look forward to many more opportunities to work with Dahvie and the team at Field & Pond!
My husband and I chose Field and Pond for our wedding on May 28th 2016. This venue was the most gorgeous place I've seen for a wedding and we were so excited to have it for our own! Between the historic main house, the pond, the party barn, and the view of the hills- its hard to choose what to love most!
Dahvie was an absolute dream to work with. He is very attentive and loves to make dreams come true. Having had his own wedding there, its no wonder he takes special care of each couple, he wants each of us to experience the joy and love that he did himself!! We had a couple snags in the plans- including having to change the date- but Dahvie rolled with each change expertly and acted as our back up wedding planner. He pulled out all the stops for us- including buying signage last minute and arranging transport to and from the parking lot a mile from the venue. He was even out early the morning of our wedding clearing the pond of any extra debris and making a special cute beach area seating...
Field and Pond has the best packages!! We chose to use the venue day of- but as it got closer to the wedding, we decided to have our rehearsal dinner in town at Preserve, and have some of the wedding party stay with us at the venue the night before. It was so wonderful to wake up and get ready at the venue! The house is decorated perfectly and has so many great rooms and features for getting ready (for both the bride and the groom). Girls got ready upstairs with great lighting (awesome chandeliers) and mirrors- and the guys got ready in the large room downstairs where there was a cool bar and leather couches.
There is also a great kitchen for caterers!! Our caterer had tons of space to prep passed apps and set up for the dinner service.
Dahvie has an AMAZING linens and table settings package- including upgrades if you would like! We absolutely loved the look of our reception, even without any upgrades, and Dahvie had great samples on hand to show you at meetings. My favorite thing about each packages is that Dahvie and his vendor crew take care of the set up and take down- AND there are separate chairs for ceremony and reception- guest don't have to move anything!!
Our photographer could not get enough of the many spaces that were excellent for taking pics- it was almost difficult to choose where to go next! There are also multiple locations for ceremony and receptions spaces depending on sunsetting and size groups. The grounds are well lit and each space has its own special draw...
I can't wait to go back for someone else's special day or any party Dahvie might throw for former clients (hint hint).
LOVE DAHVIE AND FIELD AND POND!!!
This venue is beautiful, HOWEVER, if I had known how frustrating it would be to work with the personnel, I would have passed. The grounds are beautiful and exactly what we were looking for, so we were very excited to find this venue and meet the owner, who was very charming and warm at first. He made it seem like it would be easy and fun to work with him, and he made promises to help us in any way needed to make the process smooth and easy, calling himself the venue coordinator. Rumor has it, there were many issues with tough neighbors complaining about the new business in town, and that's unfortunate, but I know my wedding and several others were also affected by it. You would think he would want to go above and beyond to impress his new clients, so they can provide good word of mouth for him; however, the owner became unprofessional and inconsistent in his correspondences. He changed our contract and informed us of this by nonchalantly mentioning it in an email, after we had already signed one. He repeatedly began saying he was "not a venue coordinator" contrary to our first meeting with him. He even cancelled our walk through with little notice, after I had scheduled it 2 months in advanced knowing it would be a busy time for us all. He cancelled due to a vacation to Mexico without any acknowledgement of the inconvenience it would cause the rest of us, making it seem like we were inconveniencing him by not being able to change the date due to work and other appointments. Emails became passive aggressive and inconsistent, making it confusing what services he was still providing as promised at the beginning. I did not consider myself a bridezilla in any other aspect of my wedding planning, but dealing with him made me feel like I was the crazy one. The house had tools spread around from work being done that were left there during our stay. There were also no curtains on the windows, so anyone on the grounds can see into the bedroom windows. Also, be aware that the barn gets VERY warm in the summer evening as there are no fans and air does not move well through it. Also, being out in the country, there were a fair amount of bugs in the house, lingering around the light fixtures (and found dead all across the sinks of the bathrooms in the morning), as well as mosquitos in the evening due to the pond. Fortunately for us, the wedding went wonderfully as the rest of our vendors were great. As beautiful as this place is and as much potential as it has, it still has a lot of room to grow as far as customer service is concerned, and at this point I cannot say I would recommend it.
I am a professional wedding planner, and I had the privilege of planning a wedding for a delightful couple in June - the stunning event was held at Field and Pond. This property has everything... beautiful views, serenity, natural elements, open spaces, a gorgeous heritage barn and just a touch of "bling." What a great property to hold ones nuptials. Working with Dahvie, the owner, was a delight. He was also courteous, professional and truly cares about the clients and the end result of their wedding day. I can't wait to return with another couple!!
Field and Pond is a new business and there were some growing pains that went along with our planning. However, the day of everything was perfect. The owner Dahvie genuinely wanted us to be happy. The venue itself is gorgeous. The site is sprawling, we were able to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in three different locations. Our guests were impressed by the beauty of the location. All and all it was a picturesque day and could not imagine having our day anywhere else.
Dealing with this venue and it's unprofessional owners was the low point of our wedding. The location and property itself are stunning, and it has so much potential, but it's doomed to fail under the current leadership. The owners charmed us with all kinds of promises they didn't keep when we signed a contract a year out from our wedding.. Everything was on track until about 3 months before the big day. First they said that we couldn't have our rehearsal dinner there because they'd already met their quota for events for the year-we'd had this planned for nearly a year at this point, and informed them every step of the way. Then we got an email saying that barn on the property wasn't technically up to building codes (they didn't have proper permits and a neighbor had called them out on it, which then led to them cancelling several weddings before ours-with little more than an apology). They told us they would have to remodel the barn and it may or may not be done in time for our wedding. They offered $500 back and a dance floor outside. Insulting and absurd considering 90% of the reason we booked the venue was for the barn. Countless emails back and forth, which Dahvie (one of the owners) did not respond to in a timely manner, and he only allowed us to have the rehearsal dinner on site provided we hide it on the back side of the house so his neighbors wouldn't see, and insisted that people carpool to further hide the event. Keep in mind, we rented the property for over $10k for the WHOLE WEEKEND and now they tell us we have to hide it from their neighbors. They also had originally said we could rent the cottage on the property for our family and instead THEY STAYED IN IT ALL WEEKEND. Watching our every move, including being present on our wedding night when I'd hoped my new husband and I would have a private night together. Oh, and did I mention that the house we stayed in adjacent to their cottage didn't have any window coverings? So on our wedding night, we had to hide from the windows so as not to be seen by the owners and staff milling around outside. The house was filthy when we checked in on Friday, bugs all over, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, old food in fridge and freezer, dust everywhere, etc. They also let one of their dogs out during our reception so it was roaming around with our guests-NOT OK. Owner asked to be paid via paypal before the wedding, which we did, then after the wedding asked for more money to cover the Paypal fees!! Anyone who's ever used Paypal (and certainly a business owner) knows that fees are associated with using it, so if you don't want to eat the cost of the fees, ask to be paid another way! We'd have been fine sending a check, but he wanted Paypal...uuuuuugh. When I refused to pay the fees, he then said he was going to start charging me miscellaneous fees for moving the dining room chairs back (at $500 per hour moving fees) and has now refused to return property of ours that we accidently left behind. Truly a nightmare to work with these people. The only reason our wedding was a huge success and beautiful experience is because our family and friends pitched in and made sure it all ran smoothly and so no one was the wiser to the behind the scenes chaos of this venue. I am a small business owner in the service industry and it's such a shame to see people mismanage their business, especially so early on because your first years are the most important.
Field & Pond came to our rescue when our original venue cancelled on us. They were so friendly & happily gave us a full tour of their venue and all their rental options (chairs, table settings, etc). Their outdoor area has several options for a ceremony settings and two barns. We chose the front lawn for the ceremony and the large barn for the reception. Getting ready in the Craftsman house was nice and the caterer had easy access to the kitchen. The large barn has a built in bar & pretty chandelier that worked well to dance under. With a pond, deck, house, barn, grassy areas, and more we had so many options for photographs which are stunning. This is the perfect setup for an intimate wedding with gracious & friendly people to work with.
