The Waveny House

patio are absolutely stunning and the patio was the perfect space for dancing outside. The downside of this venue is that you need to bring in all of your own linens, catering, etc. While they have tables to use, the chairs feel like you are in an old hotel conference room. We ran into a snag with the rental time only being 10 hours, if you’re doing a first look on site it makes your timeline extremely tight once you get there.

perfect and beautiful. We had a little spat of rain right before dinner, but luckily everyone could go inside the house, get a drink and chat. The staff is friendly, and what I love is that they were never pushy like many wedding vendors are. They explained the house, the rules and expectations clearly. The only thing I wasn’t expecting was the police watchmen fee- I knew we had to have/pay a cop to be there, but our quote originally from Waveny House was much lower than we ended up paying. We were unaware the roof would be under construction at the time of our wedding, but it looked fine in pictures. All that being said, we really loved working with everyone there! It was a huge perk that we could leave decor there before the wedding and pick it up a few days later. Another perk is the 10 hour rental! It was a perfect place for us and I love that we can go back and visit whenever to relive our favorite day!

Well manicured, a 250 acre park with gorgeous trees and beautiful greenery and flowers, etc. The only issue is that this house does not have air conditioning. So it does get very very warm. If you are having a summer wedding, be aware of that issue. Other than that, I have no suggestions for this place. It's gorgeous, the people who work there are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.

building. We had a reception of maybe 100 and only 70 or so could fit in the grand hall where all the music and action was taking place. The other 30 or so people were a little isolated and separated from the rest of us. The outdoor patio and fields made for great pictures as did the beautiful windows and fireplaces but it was a little difficult for us to maximize the space. The Waveny House itself isn't very expensive but the insurance needed for those renting the space, and for the caterer specifically, is somewhat problematic. The people there are very nice and easy to deal with overall but your left to do much of the work, if not all of it, with your other vendors and working with them within the space within the rules and regulations can be somewhat difficult. Overall I liked the space we chose because of it's beautiful surroundings, old fashioned classic feel, and because the area itself had specific significance for me and my family.

About two months before my wedding she called and left a voice message yelling that if I did not submit my caterers insurance information by the end of the day she would cancel my contact. (according to the contract I had thirty days before the event to submit the information and I had not sellected a caterer yet.) When I finally spoke to her and addressed those issues, she said she did not leave such a message and she just wanted to know how I was doing with my planning. She yelled at my caterer's assistant when she called to ask about seating.
