Joullian Vineyards & Winery is a romantic estate and wedding venue situated in the heart of Carmel Valley, CA. First established in 1982, this mountain vineyard features a 655-acre parcel of land with multiple event space options. Owners Tom and Jane Lerum acquired the vineyard in 2015, where they now continue to work with couples to design and implement beautiful marriage celebrations. This husband-and-wife team strives to ensure the success of events and the sustainability of the company. Facilities and Capacity Joullian Vineyards & Winery boasts three facilities that can be utilized as an event space: the Venue in the Vines, the Cellar & Overlook, and the Barrel Room. The venue's largest area is the Venue in the Vines, which features breathtaking views of Carmel Valley. With a capacity for 250 guests, this outdoor space can accommodate events both small and large. The estate's Cellar & Vineyard Overlook can host parties of up to 65 individuals. The property's most intimate space is the Barrel Room, which can hold up to 32 seated guests for smaller affairs. Adorned with leather chairs and reclaimed wood tables, this event area is ideal for wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, or modest receptions. Services Offered Event Site/Private Suite Rentals Full-Service Catering & Beverage Packages History This historic retreat was first constructed in 1982 when the Joullian and Sias families purchased the property and had the land re-terraced. Once the contouring of the landscape was complete, the families and the head winemaker, Ridge Watson, planted vines that covered a 40-acre portion of the land. The winery was opened in 1991 and featured Carmel Valley's first-ever Zinfandel, along with many other wines. Following Tom and Jane's new ownership of the venue in 2015, Ridge Watson stepped down in 2017 and new winemaker Matt Piagari stepped in. Now, the team continues to maintain the values of the original winery, which includes crafting complex wines with character and finesse.
