Scotts Bluff National Monument, Gering, NE

Into rugged landscapes and a place that is sure to bring a dramatic element to your proposal? Try taking your future fiancé to Scotts Bluff National Monument in Gering, Nebraska. The bluff itself towers 800 feet over the ground, making it a picturesque spot to get down on one knee or stand (whatever your thing is.) Plus, this gorgeous location is a place to support the preservation of more than 3,000 acres of historic overland trail remnants, mixed-grass prairie, rugged badlands, towering bluffs and riparian areas along the river. If having a romantic picnic is more your vibe, make sure to scope out Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue. The building, designed by New York architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue in 1920, was constructed of Indiana limestone from 1922 to 1932—now, it's home to Nebraska's government offices. Nonetheless, the architecture of the building is beautiful, and taking a nice stroll outside makes for a perfect lowkey proposal spot in Nebraska.
Carhenge, Alliance, NE
Maybe you'd describe your partner as quirky or unique. If so, choosing Carhenge—a replica of England's Stonehenge made from cars—could be the move. Located just outside of Alliance, Nebraska, Carhenge was built in 1987 by artist Jim Reinders, who was inspired by Stonehenge while living in England.
