Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC's Today show, and Savannah Guthrie's husband, Michael Feldman, are celebrating a decade of marriage this March.

The couple's path to matrimony began in 2009, leading to a pretty interesting engagement in 2013—Feldman actually proposed the same day Guthrie thought the two might break up (don't worry, we have more details about that later in this article).

In the years that followed, the pair built a life that balances the challenges of parenting with the demands of high-profile careers. Both have always had busy professional lives; Guthrie has been in broadcasting since 1993, while Feldman has had varied opportunities in public relations, consulting and politics.

While their achievements at work are notable, the love story they share is just as interesting; here's what we know about their journey so far.

  • Savannah Guthrie is still married to Michael Feldman. They have been together since 2009.
  • Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman met in 2008 at his 40th birthday party.
  • Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman got married on March 15, 2014 near Guthrie's hometown of Tucson, Arizona.
  • Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman share two children together: Vale Guthrie Feldman and Charles Max Feldman.

After Guthrie and her first husband, BBC News presenter Mark Orchard, divorced, she started seeing Feldman.

In an interview with Reveal with Drew and Jonathan Scott, Guthrie talked about how Feldman's handy-man qualities impressed her when they first got together.

"Mike is extremely handy, which is one of the things I liked about him when I first met him. I thought, 'Wow, here's a sophisticated guy who grew up in the city but who can actually do things,' " she said. "When we first started dating, he came over and fixed my toilet, which I found to be very attractive."

May 2013: Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman get engaged

Feldman proposed to Guthrie while the couple were on a trip together in Turks and Caicos. At the time, Guthrie was stressed out about their relationship, worrying it wasn't going anywhere.

"I was like, 'Sweetie, I love you so much, but if we can't decide, then I think we've decided,'" she said in an article on Today.

Little did she know that he was planning to pop the question to her later that very day.

The couple tied the knot with an intimate gathering of 80 to 90 people on March 15, 2014. They kept the celebration secret until Guthrie could announce it herself on the Today show.

Unbeknownst to their guests, Guthrie was four months pregnant with her daughter Vale, which they announced together after the ceremony.

"It's funny, 'cause we set the wedding date, I bought my dress and then I found out," she told Today. "So I've been doing a little praying that I would fit in it, and it all worked out."

Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman's Engagement

Savannah Guthrie's husband popped the question while on vacation in Turks and Caicos, just when Guthrie thought their relationship might be coming to an end.

"It got to the point where no one thought we were ever going to get married—including us, especially including me," she explained in a pop culture story on Today.

"We were kind of at that point in life where it was like, we're either going to have to decide to get married or we're just going to have to love each other but let each other go."

Fortunately, it was the former: Feldman had already bought an engagement ring so he could propose to her during their trip together. "That night, the sun was going down, and he was like, 'Let's open that Champagne they sent us.'"

"I thought about it for about .2 seconds," Savannah recalled. "I was like, 'Yessss!'"

"I think he is so courageous and amazing, because I think most guys who ask in this day and age, they know what the answer is and he really didn't," she added. "But he did it anyway, and I just always thought that took such bravery and meant so much to me."

Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman's Wedding

Guthrie and Feldman had a private wedding ceremony on March 15, 2008. The couple asked their guests to keep the celebration a secret so Guthrie could announce the news herself on the Today show.

Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman's Children

The couple were in their forties when they had children, so before becoming pregnant, Guthrie was worried the two had waited too long.

"I always wanted to be a mom, and it took us so long to get married—we dated for so long—that we thought maybe it was too late and we'd lost our chance," Guthrie said in an interview with People.

Luckily, that wasn't the case for this long-time couple! Guthrie and Feldman share two children together, Vale (9) and Charles (7).

"When we found out we were pregnant, I don't think there were two happier people on this planet," Guthrie told People.
