I can’t even gather enough words to describe how great Joseph is as a person & a photographer and how crucial he was to the entire flow of my wedding day. Booking him was one of best decisions I made. When I was initially looking for a photographer my goal was to find someone that could take photos in bright & dim lights, could take timeless editorial-like photos that can also switch gears and capture the energy of a raging party, if you look through his work you can see he does just that and more. As soon as I met him I knew I was going to hire him, he’s so fun to be around, has a calming energy and so knowledgeable about weddings & the wedding timelines. He’s a wizard at lighting, at making people feel comfortable, and at capturing still and action shots. My family members, bridesmaids and a lot of wedding guests mentioned to me how great he was and that’s before they even saw the quality & tastefulness of his work. Also, do yourself a favor a book an engagement shoot as well, we had so much fun and the photos are incredible. He really gives great direction on how to pose which really pays off for the wedding photos. So go ahead, start practicing your smise and book Joseph with the security of knowing that you’ll look good & feel good on your wedding day.

Joe was amazing. The photos turned out better than I could ever imagine. Joe went above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and comfortable on our wedding day. Joe took the time to meet with us for drinks/dinner and really get to know us as a couple. With this time spent, he was able to choose his second photographer who would blend well with my husband’s personality as well as helped us be comfortable with him when it came time for photos. Joe is so laid back and approachable, after meeting with him I could not wait to have him be a part of my day. You don’t realize how important the photographer is until you realize just how much time you spend with them. We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID and he was so accommodating with the date change and then just the overall change in our wedding plans. When things got a little stressful with things not going as planned on timing, Joe was the one who calmed me down, took me outside, and just had us do our photos in a relaxing manner. All of my bridesmaids commented on how wonderful he was personality wise and now that we’ve gotten our photos I just can’t praise him enough. He captured every moment perfectly. He has such an artistic eye and a true talent. And best of all, my dad just loved him!

Joe is by far the most talented wedding photographer. I've worked in the weddings and events industry for nearly a decade and have not worked with anyone whose talent comes close to Joe's. He has this incredible ability to capture all the most amazing candid moments that will take your breath away and bring you back to feeling all the emotions of your wedding day. When it came time to pick our favorite photos for the album, we had over 600! Joe's not only an expert at his craft, but one of the most kind human beings you'll ever meet. He's incredibly generous and thoughtful, making sure to ask you all the most important questions. He's detailed, organized and hard working. I cannot say enough good things about him. I am one lucky bride! I was lucky to book Joe for my wedding on short notice and his photos did not disappoint. Working with joe was a pleasure. His easy going personality, vision and talent produces the best wedding photos ever...magazine swoon worthy photos. Joe and his team are outstanding! We used Joe to photograph our wedding this fall and were blown away by the beauty of the photos - Joe has a true artistic eye and will make you and your wedding look out of this world. Joe is the BEST!!!!! It's a month after the wedding and our guests are still talking about how amazing our photos are. Joe somehow managed to be completely out of the way, yet at the same time capture every single moment. We love Joe's style - which is much more natural and candid than most wedding photographers we saw. We also used Joe for our engagement shoot which was a great way to get comfortable with taking pictures and posing. Joe Lin was the photographer we selected for our wedding, 12/16/17, and I couldn't be happier with our choice. We have received a short preview album so far, and we are beyond thrilled with the beautiful photos. Joe and his assistant, Joe, were so fun to have at our wedding which made the experience so much better. We were all laughing with each other throughout the night which I'm sure will also translate to better photos. In addition, Joe was present but not 'present', so we enjoyed our family and friends in a very natural way. If you found Joe, look no further! Before we even booked our wedding venue, I had told my now husband that the most important vendor was going to be our photographer. After all, the only thing you’re left with after the big day is photos!! So you can imagine how critical I was as I spent weeks reviewing close to 100 different photographers over a year before our wedding date. I came across Joe along the way, and when I saw his portfolio I knew immediately that he was the one! We had emailed several photographers, but when we met Joe we didn’t even bother meeting the rest, and we were lucky to have booked him so far in advance as he is definitely in demand. When you meet Joe you can’t help but notice how hilarious and warm his personality is, which is absolutely key when you’re considering a wedding photographer. He immediately put us at ease, and made what could otherwise be a very awkward experience of having your photo taken a lot of fun! You will not find a better photographer for your wedding, especially if you don’t want the same boring posed photos. So many wedding photographers have the same style, but Joe is truly one of a kind. He is a fine art photographer whose work belongs in a museum! Every picture he takes is so interesting, beautiful and truly unique; we already have several engagement photos that we’re thinking of printing to hang on our wall. We have heard from numerous friends and family members that our photos are the most beautiful they have ever seen. We just received about 100 photos for our wedding sneak peak, and are so excited for him to send us the rest! We are so lucky to have worked with Joe and he’s truly become a friend to us in addition to bringing our wedding to life in a way we never thought possible.

Joseph Lin is amazing! He was so helpful and attentive through out the whole planning process. We were running way behind schedule the day of our wedding but he always had a backup plan. It doesn't get any better than Joseph Lin!! From the moment we met him we loved him. He is so talented, genuine, and his positive energy is contagious! Amazing pictures!!! We were very happy on how they turned out, however.......... We didn't get two family pictures that we are extremely upset about. we took one of my dad's family with my cousins and one very big picture of my husband's mom's side and they both can not be found.

Joe Lin's work is simply amazing. Our wedding was in July of 2014 . He was able to capture all the formal and candid moments of our wedding. Quality of photography was worth every penny. I told Joe I would hire him for all future events going forward:) I lost my best man/brother 2 weeks after the wedding, and even though the photographs were not ready Joe willingly and kindly offered to help by putting a priority on my best man/brother's photographs. And of the pictures that Joe did capture of my brother, I am humbled that I chose Joe to be our photographer, they left my family speechless. Joe has a great team, of course the ladies got to work with the pro himself, but his co-worker (also named Joe) did a phenomenal job as well. His work speaks for itself, but Joe was also great to work with. Joe and his team were open for any ideas and recommendations. He created a very fun enviroment and it was easy to smile for the pictures. We used Joe for our engagement and wedding photos. I don’t think we could have selected a better photographer! Not only are his photos amazing,but he was a pleasure to be around. His calm demeanor helped us to keep cool and have fun on our wedding day! His shot ideas were creative and special.We just received some preview photos from our October 24th wedding and we couldn't be happier with them. They are absolutely stunning! When it came time to finding the photographer, I knew I wanted that person to be a calming force. I needed someone around me to be just as relaxed and not get ruffled if something went wrong or we fell behind schedule. Joseph Lin was that person. His laid back nature was exactly what I had been looking for. And as a fellow creative, I loved his unique approach to capturing all of the photos. He made the entire process from start to finish absolutely seamless and so much fun. Over the course of the year working with him (from the initial booking to our engagement photos in downtown NYC to creating the day of schedule)he had unique insights every step of the way always elevating his work and exceeding all of my expectations. If you are looking for your wedding pictures to look unique, completely natural, and visually tell your story then Joe Lin is your man!!! We did both engagement and wedding pictures with Joe. For the engagement shoot - we even included our dogs who were on their absolute worst behavior lol and Joe was so professional and helpful with trying to get their attention and focus. My husband and I were both very nervous, never having been photographed before, but Joe made the day very fun and as a result he produced pictures where you'd never imagine we were feeling nervous or that the dogs were misbehaving on that day. There aren't enough words to explain how amazing Joe and his team were on our wedding day. Joe truly has a vision for your day and he does an immaculate job of telling your story, and capturing who you truly are as a couple. He knows when to be assertive, as it's not easy to work with a thousand vendors at once, but he does so in a professional and calm manner. His video team literally couldn't have captured the night in a more holistic and seamless fashion. Two months later and all of our guests are still complimenting how amazing and different our video and photos were. I hate how awkward and staged videos are and Joe's team captured us in such a natural and personal light. Speaking of lighting, all of our pictures were so bright and crisp which made everyone look amazing! Bottom line, I didn't want my photos or video to look like anyone else's and Joe accomplished that goal with his eyes closed. Beyond his gift and talent, Joe is an absolute pleasure to work with and listens to every single concern and request. I felt like Joe really understood my husband and I... we were very comfortable with him felt more like close friends working together than the bride/groom working with a vendor. Best of all, Joe is so easy to get along with, allows you to be yourself, and relax on your wedding day which is exactly what you need from your photographer as he's with you from morning till night! BOOK HIM!!! ... no for real... book him, he's the best out there.

Joe and his crew were amazing! His vision was awesome..not the typical cliche pictures that are posed all the time. He made our day the best and we enjoyed him and the crew. We were laughing the whole time. We received 40 teasers after the wedding and so far they are all amazing. Cant wait to see the rest! Highly recommend.

I'm a creative director with over 20 years of experience. So, looking for a photographer that could meet my expectations was essential but not an easy task. My expectations were set high and I'm not willing to compromise especially when it comes to visual excellence. We wanted an artistic approach, something a bit different from the norm. Joe Lin was the only photographer I called after seeing the incredible photos he took of my sister's wedding in 2012. When I called him, 2 years after her wedding, he remembered me, my sister, my entire family, the wedding.. I thought he must have been friends with my sister outside of that event, but nope! He's just that good, and that connected to the work and to his clients. He's also an all 'round friendly person, which makes working with him so much easier. Even the awkward family members could relax and pose naturally and smile for the camera. I am overwhelmed with happiness looking at these beautiful photos, which I just received this week. "Happiness" is an understatement, actually. The parents are calling me through their tears and laughter, saying that they just completely relived the whole event. Friends say my photos belong on the cover of Vogue magazine. Not only does Joe capture the emotion and beauty of the event and all the personalities involved, but his photos are artistic and beautiful works of art in and of themselves. He gets the obligatory posed photos, takes plenty of action shots, and is surprisingly omnipresent. Seriously, he and his assistant are everywhere and capture every moment beautifully. We LOVE Joseph Lin and his assistant Joe (Squared)!! They photographed my sister's wedding, and the quality of photos was so great and captured amazing moments, that we knew we wanted them to photograph our wedding too! I found Joe after researching a long list of photographers online and am so glad I put in the time to find him. Joe was easily the best vendor decision we made - his photos are absolutely stunning, and he was a joy to work with. He gave us just the right amount of direction so that we got great photos while still keeping things natural and honest. I also loved that he was able to capture beautiful pre-wedding portrait shots and also fun, high-energy reception shots. I would definitely recommend him!

When my husband and I had our first meeting with Joe, we knew we wanted him to be our photographer. He was professional, down to earth, easy to get along with and was humble. You could tell he loved what he does and he enjoys working with his clients and wants to capture every special moment. He was always responsive on emails, showed up on time to meetings and always made sure we were comfortable. The day of our wedding, I noticed that Joe and his second photographer, also named Joe, wore headsets (similar to the secret service) as a way to communicate with one another. I hadn't seen this at another wedding before and like that they were able to communicate and set up their next shots discreetly. They were so on top of all the shots and took all the shots I wanted, made our families and wedding party feel comfortable. My guests were calling them ninjas because they were so quiet and stealthy that they didn't realize when Joe and Joe were around. My parents and their friends couldn't stop raving about them and how they were the nicest, most professional photographers they had ever seen (apparently they've dealt with rude photographers before at other weddings!). When we got our pictures, I was so happy at all the moments they captured. Joe went above and beyond when my mom went to print pictures from the website and when she received them, they had his logo on them. I let Joe know what happened and he apologize profusely and said that had never happened before and reprinted all the pictures my mom printed and extras that were his favorites too! I admit, it's been two years since our wedding and we still haven't done our wedding album. I emailed Joe a couple weeks ago asking if it was too late and he wrote back right away saying "Of course not!" and told me what he needed from us to get the process going. I've recommended him to all my friends getting married. A couple of them thought he was a little expensive and decided to go with other photographers, and ended up being disappointed with their pictures. These pictures last forever Joe and Joe were worth it and more!

I was very picky with choosing a photographer for my wedding. Didnt help that there were lots of skilled photographers out there but Joe stood out among the rest. I first noticed his pictures through a friend of mine who hired him as her wedding photographer and her pictures were just jaw-dropping stunning! My first thought "ok, I'm jealous... I want my wedding pictures to look just like hers!" I saw her wedding album then compared it to his other works I saw from his website. Each picture I saw was so beautiful!!! His pictures had the style and flair I was exactly looking for: beautiful, classic, effortless. So he had me with his pictures, but after meeting him, it was a wrap! Talking to him felt like reminiscing memories with an old friend. Unlike other vendors who just tends to "show off" their product and talked endlessly about themselves. Joe was not pushy. He listened on what we wanted for our wedding and gave us great advice and feedbacks on how to achieve what we wanted. He wanted to know us as not only as a couple but also as individuals. It was so nice to find out that the Joe's personality was as beautiful as his pictures. There was no question about it. He was "the ONE!" Then BOOM! My idea of "100000+ steps to how to make my wedding fabulous" turned to 2. Step 1: hire Joe. Step 2: no more worrying. Honestly, it was that simple. Our engagement pictures came out flawless! My husband and I looked like models lol! We didn't look like another corny "oh so in love" couple with the same overly done posed pictures. We looked effortlessly beautiful and happy. And our wedding pictures?!!! Priceless. My husband and I are just at loss for words. Our friends and family are impressed with his work. Our wedding is one of the most memorable events of our lives and we're so happy and relieved that they were captured just the way our wedding turned out to be, amazing. Honestly, hiring Joe was the best thing we ever did for our wedding and for our peace of minds. He's professional, honest, charming, talented, and down to earth. He simplified everything for us and didn't have to worry about how our pictures will turn out. With this 5 star rating, he deserves a 10. You just can't go wrong with this guy. My Husband and I decided to take some professional pictures during our trip to New York City and ended up choosing Joseph after being Impressed with his amazing portfolio. He was very helpful and always quick to respond to our questions and emails. When we first met Joseph at the location which he recommended, we knew our pictures are going to be spectacular. he usually selects normal or old locations for the background and turns the picture into a piece of art. You just know that he loves what he does and was so much fun to spend time with. He made everything so simple and fun which made us feel relax and comfortable allowing the most natural expressions to be caught on his camera. After the photo shoot we have received our pictures in two weeks!! this was even before we finish our trip and go back to our home country. I had originally seen Joseph Lin Photography in a ad in a Bridal Catalog (probably the Knot). I ripped it out and kept it in my inspiration book for my wedding down the road. Then my cousin got engaged and told me she was going to use them, I was so excited for her, because when you take a look at their site, you immediately feel the difference of quality with their photos. Very unique and breathtaking. My cousin had them, I then booked them, and now my other cousin has booked them for their wedding in 2015. For the day of the wedding they really do feel like they are family! At first it might take a second to get use to someone following you around, but then it becomes like they were never there. Which is great because they always find those shots that you had no clue they took and would never think of taking! I received over 700 photos and they were all so beautiful it was hard to choose what to put in the album. I have received so many compliments on the shots that were taken. Joe and Joe will take the wedding photos of your dreams! I highly recommend them. Worth every penny.

Joe was the photographer for my best friend's wedding, and I had a wonderful experience with him! I liked his style because I hate when you go to weddings and the photographer obnoxiously blocks every special moment of the day trying to get the "perfect shot." Joe managed to phenomenally capture all of my friend's special moments without being intrusive, and he was super easy-going and fun to work with. So, when it came time for my own wedding, Joe was the obvious choice, and he did not disappoint! My husband and I and our families were thrilled with the photos, and my friend, who is in the wedding industry, said they were some of the best wedding pictures she had ever seen. I highly recommend him!

We hired Joseph Lin Photography for our pictures and videography. My wedding photos were stunning and the video teaser was even better than I hoped. I have gotten so many compliments on my photos, more so than any other aspect of my wedding. I cannot say enough great thinks about Joe Lin Photography. I did a ton of research looking for wedding photographer who focuses on capturing moments in a phojournalistic style rather than poses and has an ability to capture the beauty of simple things at a wedding as well as special moments. I was not looking for someone to take lots of posed pictures. I came across Joe Lin in my research and though his website photos were stunning. We met with him and instantly adored him. We met with one other photographer and just did not get the same vibe and signed with Joe immediately. I couldn't be happier with the decision. I spent the day with Joe lin and my husband and the guys were with the second photographer, also named Joe. I enjoyed my time with Joe Lin so much. He made me feel very comfortable, he was easy going and provided instruction when needed for a few pictures, but then took most pictures when we weren't really looking or "saying cheese". At the wedding, Joe and Joe were everywhere, but never in the way--quite a skill for wedding photographers. Wedding guests and my parents loved them. They made sure to get the must have pictures of the day without interrupting the evening. They were a pleasure. Working with them felt like we were hanging out with friends. For me, it was important to be comfortable with the person I would be "stuck with" all day taking pics! Mission accomplished with Joe Lin! Now for the pictures---they just came back this week and they are MINDBLOWING AMAZING photos! They are absolutely beautiful and I cannot believe Joe and Joe managed to capture so many beautiful moments. I do not enjoy having my photo taken and get very weird with the, ok smile type of pictures....but joe got all of these great moments getting ready with my sister and friends, walking around and laughing with my sister and just some truly stunning shots that we will cherish for years to come. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Joseph Lin Photography is. During the whole wedding process my husband and I knew that the photographer would be the most important thing after the venue for us. We met with 5 other photogs including Joe and none of them wow-ed us as much as Joe did. His overall nice, funny and easy going personality plus his gorgeous pictures totally won us over. We met with Joe 2 times in person before the wedding (engagement and venue walk through) and both times he was always so upbeat. When we saw our engagement pictures we were so excited to see how our wedding pictures would come out. I can go on forever about how amazing Joe and his assistant Joe are... but to keep it short, do not hesitate to book with him. Seriously every one of the pictures he provided us, they all came out breathtaking. Several people asked us for Joe's info so they can book him for their weddings. Thanks Joe (and Joe)!!

I booked Joseph Lin Photography after looking at my friend's wedding album and seeing how amazing her pictures were. It seemed like her photographer captured every moment of the day- every moment. Her pics were so beautiful that I asked who she used and she told me about Joe Lin in NYC. When I met him in person, I felt an instant connection with him. He is approachable, personable, fun to joke around with and totally cool. It was just...EASY. So we booked him. Every time I spoke with Joe closer to our wedding date about logistics, etc I felt like I was his only client. He knew my name and when and where my wedding was immediately and I never had to remind him- this from a guy who does a wedding nearly every weekend! On my wedding day, I relied on Joe to tell me what to do next nearly every second of the day, especially before the ceremony when I was getting ready. He guided me through that last stressful hour before the ceremony when things start getting busy and stressful. At the reception, every time I wanted to find him to snap a candid of me with someone I was with, he was never more than an arm's length away. He had great ideas about pics with my husband and I and our bridal party on the beach and at my parents' house before the ceremony. He was not invasive or intrusive. He was friendly and fun to have around on such a special day!

Our wedding day was a few weeks ago and I am still thinking about our wonderful experience with Joseph Lin & Team. It was phenomenal from start to finish. Joe was very available to talk pre-wedding - we met him once in his office and had several calls (one even when he was traveling in Hawaii!) prior to the wedding. He was organized, professional, and answered everything even when we didn't know the right questions to ask. The day of the event, Joe was an extremely calming presence in my parent's house (where we got ready). He was able to fit right in with a huge group of busy girls and took charge when needed. I have yet to see the photos and I would still absolutely recommend using Joe for your wedding!! Overall Joe (and his partner, "Joe-Squared"!) had great, upbeat attitudes, were easy to work with, reliable, energetic, fun, professional, quick, and most importantly: flexible. When I was stressing about missing too much of my cocktail hour to take photos, Joe immediately put me at ease and was guided by my decisions. It was our pleasure working with Joseph Lin Photography and I would use them again in a heartbeat!!! I can't thank them enough for the wonderful experience.

I think it says something incredibly special about the photographer, when the guests were all telling us how amazing he was at the wedding BEFORE even seeing a picture from the day! Everyone kept saying that they’d see a moment they wished they had caught on camera, only to realize Joe was already there taking the picture! But then, Joe Lin is not just any photographer, and our pictures are the absolute testament to that! In our engagement shoot (which I recommend that everyone gets, as you get to know him really well and can get comfortable before the big day), he managed to turn an “I hate having my picture taken” groom into someone who didn’t want the shoot to end. His easy going and super fun nature can put anyone at ease! During our session, he managed to capture “us” looking our best, along with showcasing our favorite city, in each incredible picture. Each one is better than the last! Our wedding pictures are more amazing than I could have ever expected. Joe has a way of catching those unscripted moments, along with a few scripted ones, and preserving them forever on film. No detail is missed, no face forgotten, and no moment lost. The pictures capture the fun and the excitement and the feeling of the day, which can be difficult in a picture. Each one is a work of art, and it’s obvious in the end result the amount of time and effort that Joe puts into his work. We’ve said it many times through this process… Choosing Joe to be our photographer was the best (and easiest) decision we made in our wedding planning process.

Jo and his co-photographer Jo were beyond amazing at our wedding on 6/2/12. Dozens of guests at the wedding commented on their energy and ability to capture literally every moment at the wedding. I can't say enough great things about Joseph Lin! From the moment my husband and I meet him we knew we wanted to work with him. He has a way of making you feel very comfortable and more like a friend rather then a vendor. We did our engagement shoot with him first( he includes it in the package) and the pictures came out amazing. The day of the wedding he was an absolute pleasure to work with, and everyone loved him. My mom even admitted to having a crush on him the next day. :) He has such a positive energy about him, and without me saying a word he got every shot I could have ever wanted. Selecting your wedding photographer can certainly be a daunting task. Immediately after meeting Joe, we knew we wanted him as our photographer. He has an incredible talent in capturing emotion in the most creative ways. In addition, he's great to work with! While professional, he's got a ton of energy and is enjoyable to be around. We had been looking for a photographer for our wedding when we came across Joe. He was the photographer for our dear friends' wedding. The minute I saw their guest book including their engagement photos, I knew we had to meet with him. The things that grabbed me were his use of color and how he really captured the personality of the couple. They also weren't the cheesy portrait engagement pictures that most couples have taken. After meeting with him and going through his portfolio, we were sold. He is not only a super talented photographer but a really nice guy. Our engagement session was fun, romantic and relaxed (really important because I am really camera shy). My husband and I met on the beach so we wanted to have our engagement pictures taken there. They were above and beyond our expectations and truly represented us as a couple. On our wedding day, he and his crew were perfect. My husband and I called them ninjas because they almost invisible. We added the guest book with our engagement photos and everyone raved about it. We also added the photo booth to our package and so glad we did because it was jumping all night. Our guests are still calling asking when they will be available to view online. It was a huge hit. Joe even jumped into a few snapshots with me. One month before the wedding, we decided to add a video trailer. He just started offering this to his packages so it’s worth talking to him about. My advice: Joseph Lin Photography is an absolute MUST. He is absolutely phenomenal. He is fun, professional, friendly and has a great eye. Add the guest book and Photo booth. Don’t try to get out of the engagement session because it really allowed us to let our hair down with him and allowed me to completely trust him. My husband is a little harder to convince than me and he is thrilled with Joe’s work. He agrees it was worth every penny and we would hire again him in a heartbeat.

My husband & I couldn't have been more pleased with Joe & his work. When we began looking for a photographer, we decided we didn't want someone who just took highly choreographed portraits, but someone who had a more photojournalistic style. Someone who could capture the emotions in the instance of a moment. So when we first saw Joe's work at the Wedding Salon we immediately liked his style. Our subsequent meetings with Joe only assured us that he was the right choice. Joe was always punctual, professional, and personable. He was completely open to our suggestions. Our family and friends were very impressed with how he worked and more so the beautiful photographs that developed. I did my research when selecting a photographer and Joe Lin did not disappoint! He and his team were phenomenal. First i just need to say several of my guests and bride and groom included thought he and his team were the most hardworking photographers they had ever seen at any wedding. They do not wait around for instructions and if anything seek out your guests for photos and make use of every minute. I also had booked Joe officially for 7 hours and not only did he arrive an hour early, but stayed much later to continue capturing the dancing. He and his team also have a great personality and blended right in with the wedding party and guests. It really was like you forgot about them. We also opted for the photo booth which is not so much a booth but a photo set - it was a hit! and the quality of the pics (which appear on the screen of a laptop as you take pics) were amazing! everyone loved using the props and had a blast! Joe is an absolutely amazing photographer. We just got the pictures back from our wedding and I couldn't be happier with them. Aside from his great photography skills, Joe is also a wonderful and honest person. He's the type of guy you feel comfortable around and would grab a beer with after work. My wedding party enjoyed working with him so much so that my maid of honor is hiring him for her wedding next year :) He made the wedding picture process so fun and easy. I highly recommend Joe!

Joe is an extremely talented photographer. He doesn't take just your average wedding photos, he truly captures the most significant moments and delivers the most magnificent photographs. We received so many compliments at our wedding of just the few photos we posted on the screens! He was not just our photographer, he has become a friend. So the one star that I decided to give Joe Lin is not in reference to his photographs, but to his level of professionalism. To give you some background, we had been in discussion about my wedding for the past 2 months, with multiple email messages, telephone conversations and an in person visit to his office. We had agreed on pricing, package information, date, time, location, number of photographers, and even a payment schedule. I told him on email that I would book him. This to me constitutes a verbal agreement, and he told me that everything sounded great and to sign the contract and send it back to him. I was in the process of editing the contract and when I got the draft together, I contacted him. To my disappointment, he wrote back via email that he no longer can photograph my wedding because a personal obligation came up. He also included contact information for another photographer he knew, and said “I just hope he’s still available for you.” No apologies at all. I gave him a call and told him that I was pretty disappointed and thought that we had an agreement. He very correctly stated that there was nothing in writing and he was not liable for anything. I then asked him if he knew of any photographers that I can contact since my wedding is in a few months time and I had stopped talking to all the other photographers thinking that we had our photographer already. He very curtly said, I know two guys..how many more contacts do you want me to send you? From this experience, I guess it teaches me that everything really does need to be in writing. I’m not writing this review to be mean..I just want to caution brides that sometimes things happen and your vendor cannot make it at the last minute. Just make sure you’re covered. I just think that he could have handled the situation with a bit more courtesy..for example, let me know he couldn’t do the wedding as soon as he found out, not after I contacted him about the contract. And maybe an apology, instead of a defensive tone, would have alleviated the situation slightly. I think he lacks a certain level of professionalism that I hope will develop with his experience. We as brides are pretty busy and have enough to deal with. The last thing we need to worry about is our photographer not showing up.

Joe made our day! His photographs not only capture wonderful moments, he listens to your needs and goes above and beyond to give you the pictures you have dreamed of. Everyone loved him at our wedding!

My husband Cal and I met with Joe and the first thing we noticed was his confidence in his work. It wasn't an arrogant confidence - but it was a proud confidence in his work that convinced us that he knew what he was talking about and he knew good photography. One thing he asked stood out to us - which also was one of the key reasons we chose him - he asked us to look through his portfolio and tell him what we DIDN'T like. We were impressed that he immediately tapped into the mindset of the couple. As we moved forward, we told him the look and feel we were looking for, and he completely delivered exactly what we wanted. Joe is great in that he has such a wide range of styles. Like many of you, we did our homework when searching for the “right” photographer. We reviewed websites, reviews, rating lists, and so on. In the end we could not have been more “right” in our choice. Our goal was to find a photographer who captured natural and artificial lighting well, as well as took candid shots, which told the story of our wedding. Joe Lin was more than we could have asked. Our wedding pictures are documentary style and took each moment of our wedding and make it into its own story. Not only are the photos aesthetically beautiful, they tell who we are, who our family is, and what our wedding was. With all that said when you meet Joe, you meet an amazing human being. Joseph Lin did our wedding in June and he did a great job! First we had a session where we took engagement pictures, which was great because my husband does not enjoy the camera and he really got us used to being in front of the camera. He worked really hard on our wedding day, and got about 600 pictures! I have had a hard time choosing pictures for our album because there are so many to choose from that I really love! Most of all, he took many candid pictures which was what I asked for, especially because we chose not to get a videographer, so his pictures really captured our wedding day so we can remember every detail. I highly recommend Joseph Lin for any wedding!!

We were referred to Joe by another photographer, and looking back, it was the best possible referral we could have received. What my husband and I most loved about Joe was his creativity and the way that he made both of us feel so at ease in front of the camera. Joe had the unique idea of having us take our engagement photos at 5 Pointz in Long Island City, and while unconventional, we were thrilled with the awesome photos that resulted. Joe also really listened whenever my husband or I had a suggestion or a request. During our engagement shoot, for instance, Joe made a special stop for us in DUMBO so that my husband and I could have beautiful pictures taken by the Brooklyn Bridge. The day of our wedding, Joe could not have done a better job. Everyone throughout the night commented on his professionalism and how considerate he was in accommodating requests. He went above & beyond the time he was allotted to work that night and stayed until the end of the night, making sure he had every possible shot of our wedding. Also, Joe had recommended that we have a photo booth at our wedding, and it was an absolute hit. Our guests loved the fact that they could take self-portraits throughout the night with the camera & computer Joe had set up; Joe had also brought a bunch of funny props and the results were hysterical! His great ideas and high energy level truly enhanced what turned out to be an amazing wedding. Everything at Joseph Lin Photograph was phenomenal - Joe's assistant, Joe himself, the quality of his photographs - and we could not recommend him more highly.

Joe did an amazing job with our photos, I will never use another photographer his prices are great and is work is even better. He is beyond easy to work with and got all the important shots without being in our face the entire night. The photobooth he offers is a definite must have, everyone loved it. I cant wait to use him again.
