Suzie Dundas is a Lake Tahoe-based freelance writer, editor, and photographer. She usually covers adventure travel, outdoor gear, and mountain lifestyle. While she enjoys scuba diving, mountain biking, and skiing, she also enjoys boutique hotels, high-end tasting dinners, and thermal spas — so she loves writing honeymoon content that combines high adventure with romance and comfort.
Some of her favorite recent articles include a story on the ethics of Narcos-themed tourism and a round-up of the best places to spot bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest. She was a contributing author on Lonely Planet’s Sustainable Travel and is the author of Hiking Lake Tahoe (a trail guide to the northern Sierra Nevada). When not writing, you’ll find her exploring the West Coast, playing bar trivia, or — depending on the day — learning to play the banjo. Experience
Suzie grew up outside Washington D.C., and went to school in the area. After earning her B.A. she began working full time at the U.S. State Department while attending graduate school at George Washington University. After graduating at 23, she took a break from government and global affairs to move to Vermont, where she focused on another love: snowboarding. After a few years in Vermont she moved to Lake Tahoe, where she now lives, combining her two passions as a freelance writer who covers travel and outdoor adventure. She’s currently the senior outdoor adventure editor at Matador Network and an ongoing travel contributor for both TripSavvy.com and Popular Mechanics.

Suzie has her B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and M.A. in Media and Public Communication from George Washington University.
