We were so pleased with our wedding venue, Brookside Gardens. The location itself is stunning. We were married in the Yew Garden, which is the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony, and we were able to take wedding photos throughout other areas of the gardens as well. Jennifer and her team were a joy to work with. They were very responsive to all of our emails and questions and were a great resource to other vendors. They were also very flexible as some of our plans had to be adjusted the day of the wedding. If you’re looking for a venue in the DMV area with the perfect natural garden backdrop, take a close look at Brookside.
We chose Brookside Gardens for our wedding because it's such a beautiful location and so close to DC where we live. We worked with Jennifer and her team along the way and they were responsive and incredibly helpful (giving us ideas for how to set everything up, what couples have done in the past, etc.) We had our wedding in the Yew Garden and our cocktail hour in the Fragrance Garden before moving inside for the reception and it was all stunning and we were able to go to several spots in the gardens for our golden hour photos (Japanese Tea House, rose garden, I could go on and on!) I 100% recommend Brookside Gardens for any wedding and am so grateful that we were able to get married there!
We chose brookside gardens for our wedding, and we are so happy with our choice. Throughout the process, we worked with Jennifer and her team and she was responsive, understanding and organized. The venue did a fantastic job on the night – providing great service and help for our guests and for our vendors. They made sure that the space was private and felt very special. The scene itself is nothing short of a movie – we were married in the Yew Garden, but there are multiple gorgeous areas that would be perfect for a wedding ceremony. The ballroom was a great option for our reception, providing light in the beginning of the evening and a great space for us to eat and dance. There are also plenty of beautiful areas we were able to use to take wedding photos in. We definitely recommend having your wedding here!
Brookside Gardens is a sentimental location to me and my husband, as we both grew up in the area, visiting often as kids. It was an easy decision for us to have our wedding here this past June, and we could not have asked for a more perfect day! Their events coordinator, Jennifer, was so wonderful to work with, answering our many questions and giving great insight to how the flow of our day would look using the Yew Garden, Fragrance Garden, and South Terrace for our event locations. Communication with her was timely and professional, and Brookside Gardens worked seamlessly with our coordinator and catering company, Simply Fresh. We look forward to continuing to visit here, now also reminiscing about our unforgettable wedding day!
Brookside Gardens was amazing for our wedding. Jennifer Bland was a DREAM to work with- I asked a million questions and she answered every single one of them. The staff day of was flexible with our rain plans and were super helpful with directing people. The venue itself is beautiful- we had to have our reception inside, and after the rain everyone found themselves wandering the gardens again during the cocktail hour.
As a bride who planned my own wedding, the details are what caught my attention for this venue. Jennifer knows what she is doing and was able to get down to the little things. The venue has a quick set up and tear down (2 hours for set up and 1 hour for tear down) and that was doable with a larger set up and tear down team. You can get beautiful pictures everywhere and any site will be beautiful for the ceremony. We got married on a Saturday and the park was busy, but people were respectful of the site while the event was happening.
Overall, I cannot recommend this venue enough.
We were interested in booking a Montgomery County Parks venue due to the local resident pricing being so attractive, and booked tours at all three of them to start our venue search. Brookside was our second tour, and as we talked to each other on the way back to the car, we turned right back around into Jennifer's office and asked to book it on the spot! Jennifer was so helpful, responsive, and friendly throughout the process, answering questions periodically over the year-and-a-half between booking and wedding day (and was in the visitor's center most of the day/night on the day of to oversee everything), offering suggestions for all kinds of tiny details based on her years of experience with the venue (like where the sun would be in the sky during our ceremony and how to orient everything so we'd get the best lighting, and what would be in bloom that day-- super detailed!), and generally making us feel really good about our choice of venue. As for Brookside itself, it is GORGEOUS year-round (we had an October wedding), if you're having your event outdoors in the gardens as opposed to the indoor auditorium area you really don't even need to worry about decorating because it's just so beautiful! Brookside is the highest-priced of the three county parks venues, but the money you save on florals makes it worth it ;) There are some restrictions due to the nature of the gardens (no confetti/rice, no drones, etc), but this wasn't an issue for us at all.
I got my rose garden wedding without breaking the bank! Brookside Gardens was one of the only affordable places within reasonable driving distance of DC that matched my vision of an elegant, outdoor all-in-one wedding and reception venue. The staff know how to run a wedding like clockwork - I think that's their main business, and they're very good at it. Planning and coordinating everything was a breeze with the help of their wedding guru Jennifer. On the day of everything magically came together with the help of Brookside's team. When I was left alone by the busy wedding party and family, nervously sitting by myself outside the hedges surrounding the aisle, the team members checked on me and gave me a thumbs up, which I remember and appreciate so, so much! The gardens are exquisite and the perfect background for photos. Our reception in the auditorium was lovely as well - all it took was a little uplighting and a dance floor to turn it into party central. Best of all - I can come back and visit any time I want to relive my wedding day. We love Brookside gardens, and we'll definitely be back next year to catch the blooms!
I love Brookside Gardens. It is a place I often go to and I knew when the time came that I would want to get married there. My ceremony was in the fragrance garden and then we had cocktails in the Wedding Gazebo and Maple Terrance Garden. I had a quartet and a bar set up. Brookside Gardens, Nora, in particular was wonderful to work with. The reception was in their indoor facility and the room was beautiful with the floor to ceiling glass windows. This venue was a dream come true and I could not say enough good things about my experience there. I had the wedding of my dreams! Thank you Brookside
Brookside Gardens was a beautiful place for our wedding reception. Our wedding was in June and the gardens were in bloom with a lot of wonderful flowers. The Gude garden is where we held our reception and rented a tent for the event. The only down side I would have is that the grassy area our tent was placed on was slanted in a few places...didn't really bother us or have an effect on anything, but thought it'd be worth mentioning.
