We had the pleasure of doing two tastings with Lori, which allowed us to sample a wide variety of cake / icing combinations. This made the process of selecting our "official flavors" fun and effortless. We highly recommend sampling her gourmet flavors as they truly elevated our cakes to another level of decadence for a very reasonable price. Seriously, her prices and quality are unbeatable!
For our groom's cake, Lori fulfilled our ridiculous request of
plastering edible photos of the groom all over the cake. The cake was delicious, and the photos were perfectly implemented into the design.
For our wedding cake, our guests could not praise it enough! Once word got out about how delicious it was, everyone was clamoring for a piece and tracking down servers to bring them a slice. We're still dreaming about that cake!
Also, Lori offers newlyweds the opportunity to have a mini version of your wedding cake baked one year out instead of freezing a slice from your wedding day. We will absolutely be ordering and devouring ours without hesitation!

e wedding we were told she wanted to go out on the lake (not making this up) and that a friend of a friend she apparently didn’t know well would be delivering the cake. Our contract stipulated unless there was an emergency, she would be delivering the cake herself and decorating with flowers. Never the less, she promised the cake would be there on time and in good order. On the wedding day, the coordinators at our venue tried to contact Lori several times with no luck because no cake had been delivered. It was already 2:30pm and we were told it was to be delivered by or before 1pm. My wife (who should not even be dealing with this on her wedding day) had to go find her phone in the middle of getting ready and was finally able to get ahold of Lori. Lori stated that the cake was now supposed to be delivered around 3pm but didn’t bother to inform anyone in the change of schedule. She didn’t even give us the contact info of the person supposedly delivering the cake. Eventually the cake did arrive. The bottom line is, if you are getting married or having a big event the last thing you want to deal with is having to track down vendors. It’s very unprofessional to deviate from a contract and then create a situation where the people trying to use you as a vendor are forced to track down your services.

ll me that she wanted to go to the lake with her friends and the time she agreed to dropping off the cake was no longer going to work for her, unless she could put the cake in the fridge at the venue in this case, she would drop off the cake at 1pm. When I signed the contract with Lori she assured me “I, and only I would deliver the cake unless there were an emergency.” Going to the lake is not an emergency, Lori.
I will say, I should have spoken up, but feared that if I voiced my opinion to her it would not matter as she had already made up her mind. The woman she has as a back for *emergencies* was also not available. On the day of my wedding when we had agreed she would show up at 1pm (which I had confirmed w venue since Lori did not update me after she had checked w the venue.) The day of my wedding it had made it past 2 and we had been unsuccessful in contacting Lori. Because she was on the lake. I finally got her on the phone to which she was extremely unprofessional with screaming and yelling in the background. Because she was at the lake. She falsely claimed that she was told there was no fridge space to cover for her not showing up when she had agreed to. She proceeded to tell me that a friend of a friend, who she did not know was dropping off the cake between 2 and 3 and that that was already much earlier than she usually drops off cakes. So at this point Lori, why would you even offer a 1 pm drop off? Seems like you’re digging your own hole at this point. So not only did Lori not communicate in full with me about a rando who she was not familiar with dropping off my wedding cake, she did not provide even the venue with their contact info. So hmmmm... that’s unprofessional. Also, a note to future customers of Classy Cakes by Lori, the vendor meets your needs not the other way around. You are paying them for a service. An unreliable vendor with a good product is just that, unreliable. So it really doesn’t matter how great the cake is if it you’re not sure if it will make it to the wedding. And this was not the first time Lori made up an excuse to why she could not provide product after being paid and agreeing to a time for pickup. We were over 5 hours late to a birthday party that was winding down by the time we delivered the cake. Because Lori failed to tell me when she was making her way home after her “car broke down”. I am sympathetic because sh*t happens, but not when we agreed you would notify me when you were on your way home since I was 45 minutes from your house. I had to call you to find out you had been home for a while at that point. Even though you knew this was a birthday cake for a birthday that day. Had I known you were going to be so unreliable, I would have requested the cake days before. But that’s wild to need to request a pickup for days in advance of an event. I guess I should have done that for my wedding cake and this way I wouldn’t have been so stressed out that you weren’t going to show up. You really don’t make it easy for a repeat customer of 4x to comeback in the future. I hope everyone heeds my warning that Lori Saldana is not a reliable vendor. She will not show up and she will make an excuse if it does not fit her social life.

ifferent orders to you over the past year. They have all been provided to you in a timely manner to the best of my ability. The previous order you speak of where "my car broke down" I will again explain.. My serpentine belt blew off the front of my Jeep at about 12 noon that Saturday, the day you were to pick up the birthday cake order. I called you and my other customers due for that day immediately. The repair was done in a timely manner as my wonderful fiance is a mechanic and was able to replace the belt within an hour. Upon starting to drive home again, my car started to overheat at which point my car had to be loaded on a trailer and I was given a ride home. Right after walking in the door, you called and I told you I was home and could now come to get your order. I am VERY sorry you weren't called in the 10 minutes I was collecting my thoughts on the ride home. At pick up time, you never told me that I put you out in any way that day. That in no way put you 5 hours behind in your day that day. I think that once in a while "life" happens and others need to be understanding that we are doing the best we can. I do not own a shop. I work from home and have to deal with the occasional hiccup in driving, just as you or anyone else does. I thought you were happy with your order.
To address your wedding order.. Your original date was set for April 19th, 2020. Due to covid, in March you requested that your wedding be rescheduled for the new date of July 19th. I happily changed your wedding date plans with the order with no fee. I did have personal plans for your new date, but was still happy to fill your order and have someone deliver the cake to your venue that was well qualified, as I have done many times in the past. You also requested to shrink your order to a simple 2 tier cake which was completely fine and understandable, and I adjusted the contract. Early in the week before your wedding, I called the venue and yourself to ask what time frame I had to deliver, or the earliest time the cake could be delivered. I also mentioned at that time to both yourself and the coordinator that I would possibly have another person deliver your small order that day. Never did I hear that there was a problem with that happening. If you had such a problem with this, why was it not mentioned at that time or any time before your wedding? I am at a loss. Your coordinator at the venue told me that 1pm would be the earliest time for delivery. Never at any point did I confirm with her that the cake would be there at 1pm. Your contract stated a 4pm delivery time before a 6pm ceremony. And your order was actually delivered at 2pm. The caterer I hired, Katrina, caters with CJ's catering in Georgetown and is a teacher at Gateway charter school. She is very professional. She came to my home to see your order, finished, the day before your event. We covered everything that needed to be done, such as flowers needing to be place on at delivery time, just as any other time or order goes. I confirmed with her that upon delivery, a picture was taken by your coordinator's substitute, as she herself was not present on your wedding day. This picture was taken to your bridal room and shown to you of the cake and you confirmed it was acceptable. So the order was delivered as promised, even another 2 hours earlier than your contract stated. And this is the root of this entire review. I feel that this is not fair. I also do not find fair the fact that you left another similar review under your fiance/ husband's name for the same order. I am very sorry I caused you so much disappointment that another person delivered your cake that day. I do the best I can with every single order, bride, etc. I work every weekend throughout the year to make all of my customer's day as special as possible. And I will continue to do so.

dered well enough for leftovers but people were getting 2nds and 3rds because it was that good! We had a 4 tier cake, with each layer a different flavor, and a tres leches grooms cake and it was all just so good. The free tasting was also amazing. Lori whipped us up so many flavors and combinations. My husband is so picky about his cakes but he just loved Lori's! She was our second baker to taste and we knew we made the right choice. We also rented the cake stand from her. She also delivered the cake and prepared a separate anniversary cake for us (so we didn't have to save the top layer). The whole process was super simple and made wedding planning a blast:)

a flavors that we weren’t expecting. We ended up choosing a flavor that wasn’t on our original menu, so I was so glad that she had the foresight to whip up a few extra tastes for us.
We had a five tier cake that consisted of three flavors: White Almond with raspberry mousse filling, Mexican Vanilla with strawberry mousse filling and Milk Chocolate with oreo mousse filling. Everyone raved about how good the cake was. We even had a few special Mexican Vanilla cupcakes made for our gluten free friends and made it a point to tell us how wonderful they were after the wedding.
I also couldn’t believe how beautiful the cake turned out. Lori brought the cake in the afternoon and had it set up before the photographer began taking photos of the reception hall. Although it was a simple design, Lori absolutely nailed what we asked for and we couldn’t have been more pleased.
I would recommend classy cakes any day and hope to use Lori for other events in the future!

iful. Whatever flavors you ultimately decide on, at least one flavor should be white almond; it was one of the moistest, most flavorful cakes I have every had. In fact, we froze our leftover white almond cake and after a month, it still tasted delicious! We got so many compliments from our guests about our cake. Lori was also accommodating and searched for just the right color ribbon to match our wedding colors. We will definitely be back for our wedding anniversary!

We didn't pay extra for them, but they were on our invoice and I was disappointed that she never mentioned not adding them. Not a big problem, but a problem nonetheless. The day after the wedding, we were running 30-45 minutes late to return her cake stands. We had family from out of state and were saying our goodbyes. When I called Lori to let her know we were on our way, she had an attitude, telling me that I was cutting into her time to fish with her son because her husband was picking him up in a couple of hours. I told her again we were only a few miles away and she hung up on me. I understood her frustration but was disappointed in her professionalism. Of course, when we showed up at her house, she was polite to my husband and acted as though she didn't hang up on me 20 minutes earlier. I had such a positive experience with her until that point. If you're going to work with wedding couples, understand that the next day is just as exhausting as the previous.

After visiting many other places, we began to assume that wedding cakes would cost us around a couple thousand, but when she told us our price we kept having to ask if it was for per cake or for both. We paid about $518 for both cakes when at other places, $500 would be for maybe half of their cakes. The cakes looked great and tasted great. There were no "hidden" costs and she completely understood my fiance's "kid" side with the groom's cake.

ed her cake, I knew I had to hire her. Seriously, girls, there is no better baker than Lori. Not only that but she was suuuuperrrr accommodating. My groom wanted TWO cakes, he wanted a UT Tower cake and ... are you ready?? a pancreas cake. yes, a cake shaped like a pancreas. Lori googled it, found a realistic looking pancreas and then made a cake that looked exactly like it. the reason for the pancreas? well, my husband and my new father in law, my step father and others have diabetes. When you have diabetes, your pancreas does not work properly. So, Lori made us a sugar free low carb pancreas cake, the normal classic bridal cake (for me) and the UT Tower. My husband was a little bit disappointed in the UT Tower because he wanted our initials in lights down the side and the placement of the "lighted windows" made our initials hard to read. Overall, though, I loved the cakes, working with Lori, her cake (obviously) and the style of the cakes. she is creative, sweet, helpful and accommodating. I was even late on my payment (a complete oversight) and she worked with me to get that paid even up to the week before. when we met with her for the tasting, she brought all kinds of flavors, fillings and even brough enough for us to take home for leftovers. I would hire her again! she ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was very happy with the cake from Lori at Classy Cakes. It was very easy to set everything up and was one thing I didn't have to worry about. Her cake tasted really good and it looked amazing. I would hightly recommend Lori to anybody needing...

The flavors were just Delicious and Beautiful! Both cakes were moist! Lori designed the grooms cake in the shape of a navel ship, and it turned out amazing! Lori was very easy to work with and very personable! I will use her again!
