Hilton College Station & Conference Center

We had our wedding reception at the Hilton because it's one of the few nice places in town that could hold our guest count. We requested the Oakwood Ballroom because of it's unique set up. We loved our reception--the food was delicious and it was set up well with different touches. The staff mostly took good care of us the day of our wedding with only a minor hiccup in handling the toast champagne at our reception. Our biggest issue, however, was working with the people at the Hilton. We first started working with one person, but then she left so a part of our engagement was in this transition stage when we needed to start making decisions which led to a couple of awkward encounters and major miscommunication. Norma, who typically handles quinceañeras. helped us iron out our concerns and eventually introduced us to Lauren who had been recently hired to work with weddings. We loved working with Lauren and are pleased with the way Norma professionally handled the situation too. They were patient with us, worked with our vendors, and had us verify every detail of our wedding. They honored our contract (we had a long engagement and there were changes made after we had signed our contract). Generally, Norma and Lauren treated us and our guests very well. In the end, it all worked out but we did experience some stress in the transition period.
