I hired Brittany for "day of" coordination, despite the many grumblings from my fiancé saying it was an unnecessary expense. Boy oh boy did he eat his words a few months later! I am one of those unfortunate "Hurricane Brides"! My wedding day... was 10.8.2016 at the River Landing in Wallace, NC. Of course, with my luck, my ENTIRE wedding was outdoors- the ceremony, the reception, you name it! I have to applaud Brittany for her work, especially when we were a week out. I was broken hearted as I watched this storm for weeks, take it's sweeeet time in moving into the U.S. I had been planning my wedding for 2 years and Brittany had been with me for almost a year of that. She knew every last detail and was CRUCIAL during those last few days when I was more than overwhelmed with what decisions to make with the upcoming storm. As all of my vendors were on the East Coast of NC, Brittany & the Venue had to have that "tough conversation" with me a few days before my wedding. It was a possibility that even if I decided to push forward with my event, my wedding could still be shut down if there was a State of Emergency and/or evacuations. As it was, many of my vendors had already communicated they would NOT be traveling up on Saturday if the Hurricane did hit, even though RL made miracles to move my wedding indoors. Brittany handled all of those communications with the Vendors for me during that week as it was becoming increasingly upsetting and stressful. The thing I most appreciated, was her honesty during the whole experience. She laid out all my options, and her and the venue sat through a few teary eyed phone calls. She gave me the tough love when i needed it- as overwhelming as it all was, she kept reminding me it was "my decision" to make. At the end of the day, my wedding was postponed just a few days before my event. Brittany handled all the postponement communications as my mother and I cried our eyes out. Brittany and Jenna, (from the River Landing) were almost like therapists during those final hours. Often listening to me repeat over and over again how "this couldn't be happening" and "it's just not fair". I'm happy to say now, that i think I made the right decision. And it was Brittany's words "tammy... what do you want?" and if i was honest? I still wanted my dream wedding; not some make shift, in door wedding. I wanted all my vendors there. I didn't want to settle. So I've rescheduled for March 2016! it turned out, my guests (who are out of state) would have likely gotten stuck at the Venue and unable to get home as the local rivers flooded and blocked off many routes, including 95. I was so appreciative of Brittany's work that I elected to have my wedding on a Sunday, just so BAO can work on it! I had the option of doing it on Saturday and would have been more convenient, but I couldn't imagine going through the Tammy Wedding 2.0 without BAO! (and Jenna from RL of course). I'm excited to write a post-wedding day review in just a few months! Put your mind at ease and choose BAO. (also.... I HIGHLY recommend wedding insurance! Protect yourself from the unthinkable).
