I used MBD beauty for hair styling for myself, and my bridal party (6 total). After seeing all the 5 star reviews, I thought I could breathe easily and everything would be great. I was extremely disappointed after things continued to go downhi...ll ever since I placed the original 50% deposit.
I have never written a poor review. Not even for the seamstress who accidentally left the top part of my dress 2 sizes big , one week before the big day. I rely heavily on reviews from others to find products and services, and that is why I felt it important to share my experience.
During communication before the wedding, I found the owner to be extremely rude. Just one example- I asked Andrea a question and she directed me to a link on her webpage. I had read this page before, and this did not answer my question, so I replied saying I still did not find the answer I was looking for. Andrea replied with a screen shot of the web page, telling me I need to read it again, and then finally answered my question underneath in plain text. My sister, who was with me when I got the email, was appalled.
I did not reply to the last email with her and said it is best to just let it go. Maybe I caught her on a bad day. Who knows, things happen! (Andrea has since reached out and said she was in fact, having a bad day. She did not offer any apology).
Come wedding day, the stylists showed up and had the exact same question that I had been asking the owner. I could not believe it. We laughed about it, made them a plate of food, and moved on.
They do not help you to make a schedule if you only use them for hair services, but estimate about 30-45 min per girl.
My hair took about 40 minutes, and it was fine. Nothing to write home about.
My maid of honor sat for 1 hour 45 minutes to have a similar style as mine, but without extensions added in. We have no clue what took so long, but it looked terrible, and she was trying to keep how upset she was from me. She was about to go un-do it and shower to re-do it herself, but I suggested asking the other stylist to try to fix it. The other stylist did fix it a little. This was a big waste of time and unnecessary stress.
My other sister had her hair done by the same stylist as the MOH, and hated her hair, but kept it to herself since we were running out of time. Her husband made a joke about how bad it looked the other day, when we all thought he hadn't noticed.
My sister in law had a "dry-style" blowout (new to me), and it looked the same as when she started.
Unfortunately, I do not recommend this company for hair services. We were not pleased with the services. If I could go back in time, I would keep every detail of my wedding the same, except go with a different company. The costs were fairly low, but still not worth it.
