My Cleveland Botanical Garden turned out absolutely beautiful thanks to Halle & her team. The evening ended up being perfect, but it was comforting to have a plan A, B, & C for any last minute weather changes. The guests loved exploring the gardens and rainforest areas during cocktail hour and throughout the night.
I cannot say enough amazing things about the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Halle and her team. We got married in the Japanese Gardens in September 2024 and I am so excited to see how my final wedding pictures turned out. I highly recommend if you're looking for a unique wedding venue with an amazing staff!
Growing up in Cleveland, it was always my dream to get married at CBG! Our May 2024 ceremony was PERFECT thanks to Halle and her team. We could not have imagined a better experience from beginning to end! Halle was so patient and kind and answered all of our questions throughout the process. She was an amazing resource both at the rehearsal and on our wedding day.
Highly recommend this venue!
We had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. From our first visit with Halle, to the day of, their entire team was so communicative and helpful in making sure our ideals for our wedding day were heard. They even helped me find some of my other vendors! Halle was so thorough and efficient with our rehearsal and day of, which was so appreciated because I was running behind getting to the venue and was worrying about so many different things. I really appreciate how helpful the private events team was throughout the entire process and would highly recommend CBG as a wedding venue!
We are so happy to have had our wedding ceremony at the Sunken Garden at Cleveland Botanical! The coordinators were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and made the day (and rehearsal) a breeze. The ceremony was absolutely perfect and looked beautiful in our pictures! Couldn't recommend them enough.
I have dreamed about getting married at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens ever since I was first there in 2010. My dream came true May 14, 2022. It was absolutely perfect. The grounds were stunning. I got nothing but compliments from all of my guests. Rebecca was so amazing to work with. She answered all of my questions and calmed my jittery bride-to-be nerves from the time I signed my contract up until the week before the wedding. Thank you so much for making my dreams come true!
While the Cleveland Botanical Gardens (CBG) is a beautiful venue, I cannot in good faith ever recommend this venue to another couple.
The event coordinator, Paula Coakley, is utterly incompetent and single-handedly ruined my wedding. It started with giving me the wrong address to mail the contract and deposit check (over $3k) and then not knowing who I was or that I had already booked when I arrived for a tour with my parents. The day of the wedding and after the ceremony, we noticed it felt like rain and saw a pop-up thunderstorm coming at us on the radar about 20 minutes away. We quickly sent a bridesmaid to find Paula and ask that everything be moved inside, and she found Paula within minutes. Paula completely ignored and disregarded her. It wasn't until my bridesmaid started trying to move things inside herself that Paula waved her off and said she would take care of it. We get back up to the Terrace after taking photos, and it's clear that Paula has done nothing. Everything is still outside, and in fact it looks like they are continuing to set up outside. It starts raining, and *now* people are trying to move things in. All of our linens and chairs were soaked and un-usable. We find Paula when it stops raining to see what the plan is, and she is so rude and dismissive of us. When we first met her, she said how flexible she is and how they will do basically anything we want within reason. We had asked her to move things inside, she did nothing. At this point is stopped raining so we asked to move back outside, she flat out refused. Meanwhile they were setting everything up in Clark Hall, when our "Plan B" rain location was a different room in Woodland (as was thoroughly discussed with Paula previously).
I had such high hopes for my wedding day and for this venue. All I can say to anyone else is to avoid this at all cost.
When we toured the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, we knew that we found our venue! It's a truly beautiful space. We loved that we had the entire venue: gardens/outdoor spaces and the indoor spaces (including greenhouse). Allison/Paula were flexible when we had to reschedule from our original 2020 date (covid). The gardens has an exclusive caterer (Marigold) and Julie was the BEST. She did so much more than catering. On the day of, Paula made sure everything went smoothly - we had our ceremony in the sunken garden, cocktail hour on the terrace, and reception in Clark Hall. Our guests loved exploring the gardens!
My husband and I had our ceremony in the Sunken Garden and could not be happier with how it turned out. Allison was knowledgable and professional during our planning, rehearsal and wedding day. It was a beautiful location and our pictures (ceremony and portraits) are amazing. Our only disappointment was the rooms for the bridal party (groomsmen in 1 and bridesmaids in the other) were not quite what we were hoping for. The groomsmen were in a classroom and the bridesmaids were in a conference room. Therefore, the pictures of us getting dressed, reading our letters to each other, etc. are pretty disappointing. However, the ceremony went smoothly and was beautiful so I can't complain too much. A big THANK YOU to Allison and the Botanical Gardens for making our day beautiful and special!
My band (Perfect Choice) played a wedding at CBG (the Cleveland Botanical Gardens) 9/1/19. Part of my job (along with providing great music during a reception) is working with planners and venues to make sure that I have all of the information needed for the event timeline. I worked with Allison she was absolutely fantastic! We had an in-person consult to walk through the load-in location and all of the possible logistics for the event (weather scenarios, sound systems in the halls where the events would be taking place, etc). Allison put me at ease to know that even if there was bad weather (which unfortunately there was) and the event could not be outside, we could get in quickly get set up with anything we needed to make the shorter timeline work and she would be available to assist with whatever we needed.
I had many questions as the event went on and she was always available or close by to check in with. It made everything flow very easily and we always knew what was happening and what needed to happen as the night went on.
CBG is an incredible venue and highly recommended for any type of event. Along with that, Allison and the staff were the best. If you are looking for a high class memory for your event with a great team of people to work with, contact CBG.
Best venue in Cleveland! Our guests complimented us for a beautiful and magical wedding in the Sunken Garden, cocktails on the Geis Terrace and dinner in Woodland Hall! Although, it rained heavily in the morning and thunderstorms were in the forecast, we insisted on an outdoor wedding. At 4 pm, just before the ceremony, the sun came out and it worked out perfectly. Allison and Peggy are wonderful and really helped us with everything.
The entire staff at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens made our reception absolutely perfect. From the beginning of our wedding planning, CBG was on top of communicating, hitting deadlines, meeting with us and making sure we were stress free on our wedding day. The service for dinner was outstanding (many guests mentioned how impressed they were) and the food was easily the best wedding food we've had to date. Clark Hall was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding and enjoy the beauty of a place that means a lot to us.
Beautiful place to have your wedding ceremony. We had our ceremony at the Japanese Gardens and it was superb. They have many beautiful places for photographs. The staff was professional and helpful.
Paula, Allison, and the rest of the CBG staff were absolutely wonderful! It was raining on and off all day the day of our wedding, and because of the staff's flexibility with setup, we were able to have the ceremony outside. They also kept the night moving along really well, coordinating with all of the vendors and our planner perfectly. The venue is fantastic, with lots of ceremony and reception options (and a great dance floor in Clark Hall!). We--and our guests--had an amazing day thanks to the amazing CBG staff and our other vendors!
Our wedding at CBG was the most beautiful event that I could ever imagine. It is not a cheap route, but the team at the Gardens made everything run smoothly and took a lot of work off of my plate. Our ceremony was in the Sunken Garden – it looked incredible. The service was lovely, the food was amazing (our guests thought so too) and the events of the day ran seamlessly. Couldn't have asked for a better event.
Paula and the whole staff at CBG made our wedding day go off without a hitch! From the beginning, she was great at communicating with our wedding planner and made sure that she answered all of our questions and accommodated our (many!) requests. From the start of our venue search, we wanted to make sure that shuttle rides weren't longer than 15 minutes and CBG was the perfect spot that was close to everything. Our guests loved being able to explore the beautiful gardens during the cocktail hour and the tented reception on the terrace could not have been more stunning. Huge thank you to the whole staff at CBG!
We held our ceremony in the Sunken Garden at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens in the middle of June, and the intimacy and the pictures were just perfect. While she did keep everything on track, Paula is a character to work with. She is very direct and really old school, so if you're not one for tradition just let her know ahead of time. However, her counterpart Allison is absolutely incredible, and I was so lucky to have her with me on our wedding day. She handled everything, and let nobody get in the way of making our day perfect. all together the team was great to work with, but make sure you are aware of the Garden's schedule as they do host multiple weddings a day. All in all, they helped create our perfect wedding ceremony!
If I could give CBG 10 stars I would! I will start by saying that CBG is an expensive reception venue spot. However, it is worth every single penny. First, the site itself is so gorgeous especially for anything outdoor wedding related (ceremony, pictures, reception, etc). Your guests can tour the whole facility during cocktail hour and the reception. There is complimentary underground parking as well. For my June 2017 wedding, we used Clark Hall for dinner and then everything else (cocktail hour and dancing) was outside on the Terrace. We were so lucky that Mother Nature gave us such a beautiful day for such a beautiful venue, and even if it had rained that day our reception would've still been gorgeous with the rain plan we went over in great detail in our final walk through. They worked seamlessly with my vendors and wedding planner to pull off such a beautiful and unique experience for our guests. The wait staff was so polite and professional, making sure everyone had plenty to eat and drink. And the food was to die for! Bon Appetite, their exclusive caterer, will customize your reception menu to exactly what you want. We sat down with Peggy who created our entire menu from scratch based on what we wanted (we did foods with a Southern kick). Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was at our wedding! CBG staff made our reception so perfect and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a more unique wedding venue!
It's been almost a month since our wedding day and I still can't get over how incredible it was. The Gardens is a great place to hold a reception. I have never received so many compliments before from friends and family. The Terrace is a great place for a cocktail hour if the weather is nice. They are so flexible, too. We had a spot inside as our backup in case in rained, which it didn't! The service was amazing. They had servers walking around to everyone offering to refill beverages and fill their bellies with hors d'oeuvres. Everyone walked around the Gardens and were able to experience all of its beauty. The food was top notch. I had so many people come up to me and say it was some of the best food they've had at a wedding before. I would highly recommend the salmon.. that seemed to receive the biggest compliments!
Peggy & Bridget were truly a pleasure to work with. They were always available to answer any questions or concerns I had. Peggy is a pro - you can tell she has a ton of experience under her belt!
The one thing I loved is as soon as we arrived, we quickly touched base with Peggy on a few items then we were free the rest of the night. They had EVERYTHING under control - it was flawless. Knowing the room was going to get set up exactly as I envisioned without having to come and check was such a relief.
I would recommend this venue to any bride if you want to be able to relax and have the night of your life.
I have always loved the Botanical Gardens and to be able to get married there was a dream! The place is obviously gorgeous in every way and there isn't a bad view any where. I was so happy with Bridget our contact and Paula who helped organize us to where we needed to be and making sure the ceremony went off without a hitch. Botanical Gardens is an easy pick because it is stunning and the staff is super friendly as well!
We got married at the Botanical Garden in May and it was wonderful. Thankfully they had an inside option for if it rained, because it did! Although the second option is a little plain, the floor to ceiling window made the pictures of us look beautiful. If you want to bring your own decorations for that, you can, but like I said, the window made the room look beautiful as is. We were able to take pictures outside and it came out beautiful. Our guests loved that they were able to look around the gardens while we took pictures. It was an amazing place to get married.
