Jamie Spain is a contributor for The Knot, where she covers a variety of wedding content. She loves doing research of all kinds, so she’s got you covered when it comes to everything from the best honeymoon destinations to niche wedding traditions. With years of digital and print editorial experience, she wants to help as many people learn the ins and outs of weddings and plan their perfect day.
When she’s not writing or researching, Jamie loves to paint, binge-watch Netflix YA shows, read books of all genres (not just love stories, though they do have a special place in her heart), travel, online shop, and eat as many soup dumplings as can possibly fit in her mouth.
Jamie has several years of editorial experience. She held a position at BuzzFeed in New York City after graduate school. It was at BuzzFeed where Jamie began writing about lifestyle and wedding content, and realized that she would like to continue helping couples plan their special day. From there, she headed to Good Housekeeping, where she covers family and pets content. She currently works for Good Housekeeping and contributes a variety of content for BuzzFeed and The Knot.
After receiving her bachelor's degree in Journalism and Psychology at Northwestern University, Jamie went on to earn a Master’s degree in journalism at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. While in undergrad, she served as an intern at People Magazine where she covered family, celebrity, and entertainment content. During grad school, she held a student partnership at Bustle, where she discovered her love for service journalism, and focused on conducting in-depth research and interviewing a variety of experts and sources.
