ing for wedding dresses. That is until we went to Buxom Bridal. The experience was intimate and lovely and my consultant knew exactly what she was doing. When we arrived we went to our own area with no other brides and my “fitting room” was like an entire small bedroom that just looked like a room in a posh house. My consultant already pulled dresses in my size which for a plus size bride, is so much better than waiting while someone searches for your hard to come by size. She listened to what I was looking for but used her expertise to pull a dress she knew would flatter me and that dress ended up being the one! Though it was a little more than what we wanted to pay originally, they have a great payment plan and to have that great experience and this gorgeous gown that I feel amazing in, it’s worth it. My dress should be in around August and I can’t wait. Thank you Buxom Bridal!

dresses. After ordering my dress and veil, they were very prompt in contacting me once my veil had arrived. However, things went downhill after that. They informed me that my dress would be available to try on in January once it came in. The middle of January came and I had to reach out to them to find out if my dress had arrived. At first I was told that it had not, later to be informed that it was a mistake and it had in fact arrived at their salon. I made an appointment to try on my dress thinking that it would be at the Fallston location. WRONG. They completely closed down the Fallston location without informing me in any way that they are now exclusively located in their Parkville location. So I drove all the way up to Fallston for my appointment only to have to turn around and drive back to Parkville. They also failed to ask me if I wanted to schedule any alterations once I finally had the chance to try on my dress. 6 weeks out from my wedding I once again had to contact them to ask when they would suggest starting alterations. Their seamstress, Anne, said she only could give me 20 minutes for my first fitting with her. WHAT??!! Anne consistently had an attitude when I spoke with her, which there is absolutely no need for EVER. Thankfully I decided to go elsewhere for alterations and had a much better experience with a different seamstress. Overall, I would recommend them for their intial customer service. But be prepared to stay on top of them and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR ALTERATIONS.

ith no success, and booked another long weekend at shops as far north as North Jersey and as far south as Baltimore. Buxom Bridal was the last shop. I had a distinct vision for my dress - clean, simple, and luxurious, but I still wanted to try the dress on! Many shops weren’t able to provide that, but when I walked in to Buxom and explained this to Amanda, she knew just the dress for me. Amanda was great - she was patient as I tried on additional dresses to rule everything out. She waited as I talked through all my thoughts about every dress. And she was super sweet when I realized I had finally found the dress. More importantly, she was accommodating as I was driving down from Philadelphia frequently to handle the dress, and made sure I could do so on weekends without having to take off work. Amanda remembered me every time I came in, which was nice. She even sent me a swatch of the dress at my request, no problem. After the dress came in, it was transferred to the other location for Anna, the in-house seamstress, to work on. She is incredibly busy, so I recommend booking her as soon as your dress comes in for your first and second fittings - a bigger concern when you have a 2 hour drive to make. During both fittings, Anna knew exactly what to do and was very encouraging through everything. Ensuring the dress would be completed before my wedding was stressful, but Anna came through and I left feeling ready for the wedding. I wish I started here first and didn’t waste 2 weekends driving all over the region to find this place. Please start here!
