is an angel sent from above! He was an absolute JOY to work with and is so so so good at what he does. Abby was also fantastic to work with! So easy to communicate with and made things run so smoothly! Every single staff member (bar, kitchen, security) was amazing! They were all so nice and treated every single one of our guests so well! Food was DELICIOUS Drinks were PERFECT I have gotten SO many compliments about the venue, staff, food/drink from my guests This day was truly the best day of my life and I am so thankful to every one at Esplanade Lakes for it all!

Many of my guests are still talking about the head bartender Rodger and how delicious his drinks were and how friendly he was. We had a Saturday wedding and there was no wedding the night before so we were even able to get into the venue on Friday for final touches and to make sure everything was set up as discussed (which it was). The food was delicious and many of my guests have reached out to let me know they loved the food. 10/10 for Esplanade Lakes and I am beyond happy with my entire experience!

Much to our delight, a few months before our wedding we found out that we would be working with the current coordinator, Sinisa, and truly could not rave about him more. He is so incredibly kind, warm, and feels like a friend rather than business vendor throughout the planning process. He went above and beyond to make sure our wants and wishes were accommodated, in some cases even beyond what the venue initially promised us, and also gave me his honest opinion regarding decor and set-up at the space. Beyond Sinisa, the bar and wait staff were also incredible on the big day, making sure our food was cooked to perfection and we had our drink of choice in hand at all times. The venue is spectacular, that goes without being said, but the staff truly made our wedding day what it was.

We got married in the fall and did all of our wedding portraits along the garden path - the wall of hanging vines, the pond (with swans!) and forest made every shot special. On top of this, our coordinator from the venue, Sinisa, was absolutely splendid. He is incredibly professional with a warm and calming presence that instills confidence in every step and he has the executional prowess to back it up. We had a number of vendors and family that helped us put on our wedding day and Sinisa and team flawlessly ensured that everyone had what they needed when they needed it. In addition to this we also got the catering and alcohol through the venue. We had a Greek and Italian wedding so food was super important - and the Esplanade team really did an amazing job. The food was high quality and they managed to achieve a staggering level of consistency - we heard from numerous guests how great their meal was. The entire team at the Esplande and Doubletree were so kind, accommodating and professional and we could not be more thankful that they were a part of our wedding day. I would highly recommend this venue, the hotel, the restaurant, Sinisa and his team!

Truthfully I was a little nervous because the event/banquet coordinator that we had been working with - Janet, quit midway through the year…but it was a blessing in disguise because Sinisa took over! He picked up right where Janet left off and didn’t miss a detail. He was much more responsive as well. Sinisa even helped me carry my luggage in on wedding day. He truly cares about making sure your event goes well! If anything I would say the cocktail hour bar lines got a bit long and I wish they would have sent someone out with pre-poured glasses of wine and beer to help alleviate that, but in the end it all worked out. The hotel staff was great as well. This is a wonderful location for a wedding if you are looking in the Chicago suburbs.

th cover and maybe staff was changed but this staff with the exception of Kristin and the head waiter were absolutely ridiculous to deal with. I had several meetings with Janet who was in charge of the wedding and honestly the only time she gave us attention was during the tasting. She took notes on what we wanted for dinner and appetizers and she still managed to mess it all up. We never ordered coconut shrimp for the appetizer yet thats what she gave us even though we told her we wanted the lobster tail during the tasting as well as in a phone call after the tasting. We picked our stuffed chicken and she gave us the wrong one during the wedding. Anytime I wanted to speak with her you can tell she was bothered to sit down to talk to me and would always say she has an appointment and leave within two minutes of our conversation. She would make an appointment with me and I would drive out 45 min to see her and then she either wouldn't show up and come later or she would talk to me for 1 minute and say she is busy. Her lack of interest in speaking with us contributed to all the wrong food at the wedding. We had the chef custom make Ruben sandwiches as a late night snack to serve to the guests and they forgot to bring them out. We were literally handing out the sandwiches as our guests were leaving the venue. I asked for gold chargers on the tables and Janet requested I pay cash for them since they were from another company. I didn't have all the cash on me so I paid her 560.00 and I told her I would give her the rest at the wedding. During the wedding my designer said she let Janet borrow 150 chargers free of charge, my total guests were 165 people yet she took 560.00 in cash and I don't know why. The venue was late with everything, table set up, getting the guests in on time and bringing out the cake late. I can go on and on about all the mistakes that happened but I don't have all day. Bottom line is Janet does what Janet wants and not what her clients want. She will tell you what you want to hear but does what she wants at the end of the day. The venue is beautiful but if you are having a wedding there be prepared to pay a ridiculous amount for terrible service. They charge you for every single thing and I question most of those charges and if they did their job and listen to the client I wouldn't mind but at the end of they day its what she wanted to do.

Their attention to detail and accommodating staff made this couple and guests feel like royalty. The reception alone isn’t where it ends…shuttles for guests ran seamless and the hotel experience was also wonderful. We even had a small after party in the DoubleTree bar with amazing late night pizzas! The extra large rooms were comfy and clean and the breakfast buffet couldn’t be beat. And let me just add that the planning was a painless process…Barb had all the answers (and suggestions)! but we chose bruschetta, etc. which we knew would have to be prepared in house. Guest rooms were good, not great. But great value. So many nice people there. Communication from the staff was not as quick as I would have liked (I once waited 1.5 weeks before getting a response to an email, so I finally called. Got an email response instead of a call back which bugged me). But they told me they were trying to hire another person and are short staffed. If you're having a large wedding (we had 200), this is a great choice.

degree circular ballroom, to the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Morton Arboretum, to the high-ceilinged cocktail space, this was an absolutely beautiful wedding space. Our favorite part was the huge dance floor -- 30'x30'! The venue size was perfect for our 175 guests -- the 19 tables were set up around the perimeter of the room, meaning there was plenty of space and we didn't have to relocate any tables for the dancing portion of our reception. The staff was also extremely professional -- Lisa, our coordinator, put up with our many questions throughout the planning process, and Eileen, who was the lead server/serving staff coordinator, did a wonderful job making sure dinner (which was delicious, by the way!) went smoothly and quickly so we could get on to the celebration! We are SO glad we chose this as our venue -- it really is a hidden gem!

e we were the only event there at the time. The personal and professional service was much appreciated. The site was absolutely gorgeous and the staff was incredible. The coordinator, Lisa Cosgrove, was truly tremendous in her service and organization. She helped to make the day stress free for us. The value of the meal, beverages, cake, center pieces and set up was not matched by anyone in our search for venues. The food was absolutely excellent. Our only negative was the Double Tree hotel reservation call center. People were in and out of the block and it was frustrating to deal with rate/length of stay/cancellation policy issues. However, the staff at the Double Tree were amazing and helped to fix and manage every call center issue. It was a small hiccup, but the overall experience was incredible! We continue to get rave reviews from all of our friends and families. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding. It is also beautiful in photos!!!!!!!!!

The planning process with the wedding coordinator, Angela Dron, was fairly painless and they were willing to accomodate all of my special requests. The food was delicious and the selection of alcohol was great. I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of - everything flowed seamlessly. My only critique, and it is a minor issue, is the communication level with the venue. In todays world of email, I have come to expect same day responses. Maybe that's expecting too much. But in either event, that is not how the Doubletree works. You certainly get a response within a few days, but it was rarely, if ever, the same day, no matter how big or small the issue. I also had to reach out to them as the wedding drew near to confirm everything was in order and last minute steps. In their defense, maybe I jumped the gun and was inquiring too early and they were going to contact me, but we were less than 4 weeks away and I thought I should have heard from them by then. Overall, a GREAT experience. By far, my best vendor. I HIGHLY recommend the venue - it really is the perfect setting.
