We had the most magical wedding day! Ellie is so wonderful to work with and will do all she can to make your vision come to life. Our wedding was early December and the Christmas decorations at the Memorial House made it so we barely had to decorate at all. Ellie checked in with us and met with us multiple times throughout the planning and went above and beyond to help answer questions and talk through things with us. Would absolutely recommend having your wedding at the Memorial House!
We hosted our wedding here this past weekend. It was a disaster. We had the venue booked from 10 am - 11 pm. The venue was supposed to have the tables etc., set up before we arrived. However, when I arrived at 11 am - nothing was set up. Myself (the bride) had to set up all of the tables etc., Because nothing was set up, we missed a lot of time with our photographer and memories with my family. Even my mother with cancer had to help. In addition the air conditioning was not working. It reached at least 89 degrees inside the space and was virtually unusable. My grandfather with heart failure even asked the attendant about potentially needing an ambulance...the list goes on. Lindsi Holmstead at Memorial House completely let me down and I feel extremely betrayed by her. As a Bride I feel so disappointed in her and the venue. We also overhead conversations with the venue staff that the air conditioning broke 10-12 days before our event...and no one told us anything. Her director and team at Preservation Utah are trying to make this right and have offered us a full refund. When we spoke to Lindsi she said "sorry you experienced typical weather".
We held our wedding celebration here, a year after it was delayed due to Covid-19. We held the ceremony down the path from the White Monument, in a nice clearing by the fountain. The area was intimate and delightful. Our reception was held at the Memorial House itself, and it was a beautiful venue with lots of indoor and outdoor space. We and our guests had a blast. Lindsi and her staff were very helpful and caring through the whole process.
Lindsi and her staff were so accommodating in every way possible. The communication and flexibility that they showed, made the night so special. The natural scenery accompanied by the uniqueness of the memorial house made it the perfect location. I would recommend this special place to any couple.
We had our wedding in July at memorial house on the south lawn. Dawn and all of the staff were so flexible and helpful! We had to change our wedding date 3 times due to covid and they were so wonderful! Everything turned out beautifully! They were very aware of keeping everyone safe with covid precautions and also very kind!
My wife and I had such an amazing experience with the team at Memorial House! We saw right away they are such a safe space for all kinds of couples looking to plan their special day. The team was so responsive and receptive to our needs. Dawn was able to explain everything to us clearly, in a timely manner and help us achieve all of our dreams for our special day. She helped us pull it all off in just 14 days. The venue was beautiful and the team keeps the inside and out in such great condition. The flowers, stone, and house were a great backdrop; there is no bad angle for photography in the house. We will be forever grateful for the memories we can keep coming back to for years to come.
Stunning place for an event! Such an amazing team to help with your big day!
I cannot recommend the Memorial House highly enough! We hosted our wedding dinner there last week and were blown away by how perfect everything was, down to the smallest details! The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating - an absolute joy to work with through the whole (and honestly stressful!) process of planning our event!
We absolutely loved our time at Memorial House. They made things so simple. The chairs were set up for the rehearsal and ceremony; flipping the hall from ceremony to reception was a breeze! We’re very glad to have gone with memorial house!
Memorial House in Memory Grove ended up being the dream venue we didn’t know we wanted or needed. It was perfection! It has all the charm you would want with a more vintage styled venue with the natural scenery of Memory Grove as the backdrop. Dawn was a dream to work with in getting all the details nailed down perfectly! We were filled with continual questions and requests and Dawn handled each quickly and thoroughly. The venue included a lot more for a smaller price tag than most venues and it didn’t come at the expense of quality or execution. Staff was on hand the day of our wedding and made the extra touches absolutely perfect! We can’t say enough about how happy we are with the way our wedding went at this amazing venue! We also want to say the staff and venue overall were amazingly inclusive and supportive of our LGBTQ+ community. It was an honor to have our wedding at a venue that made our day feel special just like any other wedding! Thank you for being inclusive!!
Having our outdoor wedding ceremony at Meditation Chapel was the best thing we did! We wanted to book a ceremony venue great views and surrounded by nature while at the same time close enough to the downtown where our reception was going to take place. This was by far the best decision we did for our wedding day! Dawn and her team where so welcoming, professional and lovely to work with. She was always responding to all of our needs and questions and our special ceremony day couldn't have been better! We had the choice to host it indoors if it rained but fortunately it was very sunny on that day and we were able to have it outside. Thank you Dawn+team for making this day truly special for us!! 100% recommended!
Dawn and the entire staff worked tirelessly to give us the perfect experience. We had a couple of last-minute glitches, and the staff jumped right in to make things right. A beautiful venue for the price!
The Memorial House was our dream venue. Dawn was amazing to work with--always prompt in answering my many questions & totally professional.
We picked the venue because of it's close proximity to downtown which made it accessible to out-of-town guests and honestly, it doesn't get more beautiful than Memory Grove. We held our ceremony in the south lawn which was in full bloom--no florals needed! The reception space was perfect for our 110 guests--everyone had enough space to move around & dance without feeling crowded yet it still felt intimate. The space also has built-in ambiance due to the fireplace, light fixtures, and hardwood floors--I loved that vintage vibe!
I also loved that it was a one-stop shop for AV needs. We rented a sound system & uplights to create a party feel. It was really nice not to have to source those things ourselves.
I highly recommend Dawn & the Memorial House. Your wedding will be beautiful there!
We had our ceremony here in February. It's a beautiful venue and they have such a wonderful staff! Dawn was so wonderful to work with and she made sure things ran smoothly!
Loved having my reception here! Beautiful and easy set up! Feels so fancy at a great price!
Beautiful venue, I enjoyed my wedding! I would recommend being wary of the hosts and management. We had agreed upon certain timelines for setup and access to the building. Our initial host had all of our wedding details ironed out and she left before our wedding. The manager filled in and was out of the office the days leading up to and during our wedding. We weren’t able to set up or access the building as we had planned and anticipated. We scrambled the day of the wedding. We stayed behind 2 hours past our wedding to clean up and put away tables, chairs, linens, on top of the cleaning which was A LOT. We were still charged $200 from our security deposit. Apparently, the hosts felt they did extra. I am still confused what they felt they did above and beyond their roles that equaled $200 as my family and I helped them by putting away tables, chairs, and linens. I didn’t appreciate the lack of honesty on their part. Ultimately, the manager did nothing to remedy this and instead let me know she could have charged the entire deposit. Thanks for the generosity haha.
Loved the Memorial House! Soooooo pretty and has or can get anything you need! My only complaint would be the parking, the gate wasn't well managed and people ended up parking pretty far away.
I chose Memorial House as I wanted a vintage feeling to my wedding. I also did not have time to work out a lot of decorations and loved that the venue already had beautiful details. Katie Kelsey and the staff were knowledgeable and always available to help. They insured the wedding occurred without issues. I had a wonderful experience and love how everything turned out.
We had our reception here at the end of March 2015. The weather was perfect, so we got to open the doors to the patio. Normally the garden room is also available, but they have been doing construction so we got a discount. The brides room was perfect. No complaints whatsoever! They do have preferred vendors, all of whom are high quality, but just keep that in mind if you have someone you're set on for catering.
Love it here. Such a beautiful Spot!
We had our wedding and reception at the Memorial House and it was absolutely beautiful! It ended up raining on our wedding day, so we had to move our ceremony inside. (originally planned for outside) Our coordinator was wonderful to work with, putting me totally at ease about rearranging the ceremony. I truly have no regrets about this venue and am left with nothing but beautiful memories and a feeling that I wouldn't have changed a thing about our special day!
The Memorial House is a beautiful setting for a wedding reception! I love the old wood work and the beautiful hardwood floors. I also love the amazing French doors- each of which we had open during our reception. I wanted a venue that was relatively a blank canvas that I could decorate and make my own, and this was it. I did all the décor elements myself, I even rented chairs from another rental company to complete my vintage look. The park looked beautiful as well. Exactly what I wanted for my reception!
I LOVED memorial house! it was the perfect size for a reception big enough to have room for dancing and dining inside but small enough to keep everyone close and talking. The workers there are so helpful and Carolyn knows so much about the place, she has an answer for everything! My wedding was June 1st and it was green and had beautiful flowers for the outside ceremony i had. They are very organized and so willing to help. Only think that was kind of annoying was you cant do many thing for the grand exit but i had bubbles and ribbon wand things and it was very cute. All-in-all they did an amazing job and when they move around tables you don't have a clue they did it or are doing it, they are discrete and it was lovely!! I'd recommend to anyone! Also you get quite the bang for your buck.
We chose the memorial house for it's historic charm and cute location, it's kind of a hidden gem in downtown Salt Lake. We got lots of compliments on how beautiful everything was. Carolynn was awesome to work with and helped me solidify everything before my wedding. My only concern was that the attendant on duty the night of seemed to have no idea about any of the details I had already worked out with Carolynn, like when to break down tables, dim lights, etc., and had to come ask me for all of that in the middle of my reception. Not a big deal though, especially in comparison to everything that went perfectly :) I would recommend.
Great location if you have concerns about Utah weather. Beautiful outside scenery, with historic building in same location that we used for reception.
Carolynn at the memorial house is great!! too bad she is not the one there the night of... The location is great and good price!! only down side is it takes alot of decorating to make it perfect :)
I loved the memorial house. They were very accommodating and the service was excellent. Everything went as planned and it couldn't have been better!
I loved having my wedding in Memory Grove Park and I loved having my reception at the Memorial House. I worked mainly with Carolynn Bottino, and she was wonderful! She was available to meet with me a few times and let me see the venue any time it was free to solidify decor ideas. She also communicated with the caterer so I didn't have to play middle-man between them with linens and tables and such. Carolynn could not be at our wedding, but the staff who were there were very helpful and encouraging. We got married on the steps of the Meditation Chapel, and both there and the Memorial House were a perfect size for our intimate wedding of 100 people. My husband is in the Navy, so the meaning of the park was an added bonus to the beauty of our military wedding.
It was a bit pricey, considering the catering is not included (what you pay them is just to use the facility/tables/chairs and some linens are included too), but it was so perfect and totally worth the extra $! It was a great value for what we got!
Overall, I had a perfect wedding! Thanks Memorial House!
I loved the venue! A little expensive, but in the end it was worth it.
While Memory Grove is a beautiful venue having to rent the house to have your wedding there makes it much too expensive for what you get.
We worked with Carolynn at the Memorial House to plan our Fall wedding. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Carolynn is great at her job and was great to work with. The staff onsite at our wedding the day-of was also very wonderful to work with.
The Memorial House is a beautiful setting for a wedding! We had our ceremony in the private garden and the reception indoors afterward. It was a wonderful place and we received many compliments on our choice of venue. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful. We were slightly disappointed that one of the main flowerbeds (the backdrop for our ceremony) was not planted with anything as we were told it would be.
