The Edgewood Inn as a breathtaking place to get married. We were married on 7-29-23. The host Dean and Kathy were very helpful with getting all the details we needed to plan our wedding. They have a great list of vendors in the area that they enjoy doing business with a...
nd know the facilities. It was very helpful being able to go through that list and get good vendors. The weekend of our wedding we greeted by Dean and he made everything ready for us. He was very laid back and let us get things set up. Breakfast both mornings was very good! It was so nice to stay at the wedding venue after the wedding.
Thank you Dean and Kathy for the great venue and the great hospitality!

::TLDR at the end::
My now husband and I booked Edgewood Inn for our wedding venue just after our engagement and were married there on December 10th, 2022. Unfortunately, our wedding did not go as planned.
On August 8th I sent an email to Dean and Kathy (the owners of...
Edgewood Inn) requesting that my service dog in training be allowed to accompany me at Edgewood due to my documented disability, including up into the bridal suite where I would be getting ready and sleeping. On August 8th I received an email back from Dean that stated that an exception would be made, and Harley would be allowed at the venue, including upstairs as long as she didn't go on the furniture and we brought a kennel for her to sleep in. I should note that my dog is enrolled in service dog training and provides great support to me when needed.
I did not realize at the time of this email exchange that my service dog in training was required by law to be given full access to the venue because in Colorado service dogs in training are given the same access rights as service dogs. Therefore, while the permission from Dean was granted, I did not need to request permission at all.
Fast forward to December 9th when we arrived at the venue. I entered the front door with Harley and walked downstairs where I was immediately greeted by Kathy and told that my dog had to stay on the bottom floor at all times. I explained to her that Harley is a service dog in training and Dean had even given us permission, but Kathy was adamant that Harley stay on the bottom floor only. Dean then confirmed what Kathy had told me and said that Harley had to stay on the bottom floor.
For fear of retaliation on my wedding day, I chose not to fight with Dean and Kathy on this and I sent my service dog in training home to stay with a relative for the weekend. We were very fortunate that I did not experience a medical episode during the weekend.
Dean and Kathy not only broke the law by not allowing a service dog in training access to Edgewood, but they also kept me from having my service dog in training as part of our wedding as we had planned on for the past year. Harley was supposed to be the ring bearer in our wedding. We are so disappointed by their actions and would not recommend their venue to anyone.
TLDR: Service dog in training denied full access to Edgewood Inn by owners Dean and Kathy Buysse. Service dogs in training have the same access rights as service dogs in Colorado.

The Edgewood Inn made our big day absolutely PERFECT. We already want to return as B&B guests for our anniversary because the home and hospitality is so special! They provide an excellent recommendation packet of vendors (caterer, florist, DJ, bakery, etc) all of which w...
e went with and are SO happy we did! We were shocked at how affordable renting the venue for the weekend was compared to what we expected when we decided we really wanted a mountain wedding. From the tour all the way through our final breakfast prior to check-out, we experienced the best hospitality and thoughtful touches. The venue must be rented entirely (with the guest rooms) for weddings which is great because having the whole venue made our lives so much easier, never having to worry about traveling/transportation all weekend and allowed our families to enjoy time getting to know each other better and have fun! They have a beautiful view of Pikes Peak for all wedding events from the rehearsal through the reception. The couples suite is GORGEOUS and very roomy to get ready in prior to the ceremony. They have a separate suite on the lower level of their home for their significant other to get ready with their party as well. Kathy & Dean were hands on and helpful with anything that came up. Kathy makes an INCREDIBLE breakfast for all the guests staying at the venue. After the rehearsal dinner, I had my bridesmaids stay the night with me and we had a movie night in their in-home movie theatre which is absolutely incredible & feels like you're at the movies. It was the perfect way to enjoy more family & bridal party time together. The theater is also where my husband and I were able to hide after photos were done and before the reception started so we could grab a snack, a drink, and enjoy catching up just the two of us. Something else I have to mention for a budget-conscious couple if assessing their costs vs. other mountain venues, is that you bring in all your own alcohol! That saved us thousands of dollars (I'm not exaggerating). Another service Kathy & Dean provide is golf cart rides for folks who drive themselves since their parking lot is set away from the house AND for any disabled/handicapped folks like my husband's grandparents who needed a ride down to the lower level for the ceremony to avoid taking the stairs. This makes their venue completely accessible for all folks! A few other notes I have to include about how thoughtful they are: Dean was ON IT when my photos with my bridesmaids went a little long and I needed to get back to the house quickly before my groom and all of our wedding guests saw me as the shuttle bus with all 70+ of them arrived from Colorado Springs. He and his speedy golf cart ride were a lifesaver! The morning after the wedding, Kathy leaves fresh baked cookies (again, AMAZING) on your pillow for the newlyweds! Also — they give you your own refrigerators to use for the weekend so that you can easily store and take all your leftover food and alcohol home. (This was also so appreciated when I needed a late night snack.) I know this is a super long review and if you've made it all the way down to the end, you must be like me, a planner & A-type person who wants to know ALL about their potential venue. So to you I say: for once (I know it's hard not to), don't overthink this — just BOOK the Edgewood Inn. Even if it's not on your ideal date, take a date they have. You will be SO happy you did. THANK YOU again Kathy & Dean!!!

ends and family, the venue made it feel very intimate and all of our guests loved it. Thank you again to Dean and Kathy for helping us put on a remarkable weekend!

The reason we chose this venue for our wedding August 5, 2017 was because of the incredible views and intimate setting in the mountains. As soon as we saw the Edgewood Inn we knew it was where we would have our special day!

re fantastic at helping ensure the big day went as we wanted. They never got tired of our questions and worked through everything we needed. Since we rented the entire venue for the weekend, we held our rehearsal dinner (we used Bird Dog BBQ to cater this and it worked out perfect) at the venue Friday evening, which made the evening laidback and a place where both our families and out of town guests could get to know each other. The night of the wedding Kathy and Dean helped to make sure everything was running smoothly behind the scenes, but they also were out and about getting to know our guests. We used Salt of the Earth catering with AJ from Celebrity DJ and they all (with Kathy and Dean) worked together the night of our wedding. Everything went so smoothly! We are still receiving compliments about this venue and the owners.
Overall, we highly recommend this venue for your wedding!!!

Amazing views, perfect for weddings less than 100 people. Very intimate with plenty of options in case of bad weather. Those that stay at the lodge get great breakfasts cooked by the owners of the property. The owners are very involved and present at all the events.

I recently got married at the Edgewood Inn, and I can't say enough great things about it. Not only did our guests keep coming up to us during the wedding and complimenting the venue, but they all loved Dean and Kathy, the owners, and how friendly and helpful they were....
The guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the view was, as well as the venue itself, and everyone said it was the perfect setting for a Colorado wedding.
From a bride's perspective, they really made it easy to plan my wedding at their venue. From the start, they provided a list of vendors who have worked at the venue before, which made it easier to find a place to start, as well as making it easier to work with the vendors (seeing as they already knew how to find it, where to stage things, etc). Each time I contacted a vendor to schedule a meeting, and I mentioned the venue, it was met with great joy at getting to serve at another wedding at the Edgewood Inn - even the vendors loved the venue and the owners!! Now that says something!
My husband and I picked the venue mainly because of the AMAZING views of the mountains, but also because they helped make the wedding easier to plan, because it really came with a lot of wedding items already included (such as the tables, linens, etc.) and the privacy that came with it. We wanted to get married in the mountains, but didn't want to do something so public that people on vacation would be walking through and watching/staring/taking photos. This venue is great because it is a little secluded and out of the way that people can't just wander up to it, but still close enough to town (Woodland Park) that guests wouldn't be driving too far out of their way.
I would highly recommend the Edgewood Inn for a wedding, and I think it would also be great as a weekend getaway and a B&B.
