We were so happy that we had our wedding ceremony and reception at Woodbury Country Club. The venue is gorgeous and the food was amazing! Unfortunately it rained on our wedding day, so we were not able to take photos outdoors nor have the ceremony at the beautiful lake area. Carolyn was amazing and very helpful at everything she did. Our bridal attendant and maitre d was also amazing. Our guests still cannot stop talking about our wedding and the delicious food there! I hope one day, I'll be able to attend a wedding here so I can enjoy the food myself!
This venue was amazing! The food was great and the tables in the room were set up perfectly. We even had two lounge areas in the room that our guests loved. I even had multiple guests tell me that it was the best wedding they had been to! The outdoor patio was great for pictures and cocktail hour, while the indoor reception had a large dance floor that let the entire party get up to dance. There was another wedding going on upstairs, but we never saw or heard anyone from that party. All the staff were very helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly.
I got married at the WCC in August and I absolutely loved it! Jeff was a pleasure! Extremely understanding and accommodating. He did everything he possibly could to make our dreams come true. The food was phenomenal. I would not change a thing! Thank you to Jeff and his team!
We got married at Woodbury Country Club this past weekend and I cannot say enough positive things. From the moment we stepped in the door the first time, we knew that we wanted our reception there. It was tasteful and elegant but not gaudy, which is what we were trying to avoid. Once we decided to move forward with Woodbury, the process went very smoothly. Lisa I. took care of everything we needed and was always available to answer any questions we might have had. She was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and very accommodating. She was just simply a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. The day of the wedding was nothing short of amazing. From the second we arrived with our families and bridal party, the staff was available to assist us with anything we needed. Our bridal attendant Aleia and Maitre'D Ryan were very involved without being intrusive. They were always available if we needed them but gave us our privacy as well. After the reception was over they didn't rush us out even though it ended pretty late and my family was lingering around because they were just enjoying themselves so much. The next day we went to pick up our things and Aleia was there with some food she had packed up for us since we were too busy to eat our entrees the night before. Details like that make such a big impression.
I have since gotten so many texts congratulating me on such a beautiful wedding. My parents have received phone calls every day from relatives-even some from out of the country who heard about the wedding-giving her rave reviews about everything from the food to the general ambience. Our wedding day was perfect from beginning to end and Woodbury Country Club played a very important role in that.
Our wedding was on 10/15/17 and we couldn't have had a better experience with our wedding venue than the one Woodbury Country Club provided. Working with Lisa at WCC was simply a pleasure. She helped guide us from the day we met, and kept in contact with us throughout the entire process. Lisa provided us with everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, we ever wanted for our wedding, and then some! The crew at WCC are as pleasant as you can get. From the friendly reception to the amazing waitstaff and bartenders, to the fantastic Matre D Ryan, and the outstanding bridal attendant, there was nothing me or my Groom could do but simply enjoy our day. Our guests were amazed with the ballroom and spectacular grounds, and everyone kept talking about how wonderful the cocktail hour was with its extensive choices of food. Some even said they didn't get to everything cause there were just too many options!! At WCC you don't just get 3 typical choices for dinner Entrees. Our guests were given 5 tasty options, that both my husband and I tasted and they are equally categorized as if you were in a 4 star restaurant. The dessert tray and the sorbet and the grand chocolate fountain was a sure hit with everyone. We are 1,000% happy we went with Woodbury Country Club. They definitely made our wedding a dream come true.
We loved the venue. We booked and worked with Jeffrey Edmonds who is not only a sweetheart but super accommodating. We chose them because the grounds were gorgeous and the room we used could fit the amount of people we invited. The food was awesome. Everyone complimented cocktail hour and dinner. They pay attention to small details that make a difference such as lowering the pond fountains/sprinklers during our ceremony so it wouldn't overpower our rabbi. Each staff member we encountered was nice, welcoming, and helpful. Even though we didn't need it, they had a contingency plan in case it rained or was too hot and humid. Our maitre de Ryan was awesome. He handled everything beautifully. He was there whenever I needed to ask for something or double check things. He even helped pack up my parents car when we left after the wedding. My bridal attendant was Alissa. She was great too. While getting ready in the morning she would check on me and my bridesmaids if we needed anything. She wasn't overbearing. When there was a bustle problem with my dress - she did whatever she could to get it done. I had missed the cocktail hour because this minor issue but she grabbed me a plate of mashed potatoes so I didn't miss out on that station. She was super helpful and lovely.
We had the wedding of a lifetime here! Jeff was our manager for the event, and he was nothing short of amazing. He dealt with a lot of stress throughout the planning and handled it like a true professional. Our event was seamless! He coordinated fireworks, made sure our special tables were set up exactly how we wanted. My bridal attendant was Linda and she was awesome, she packed everything up for us at the end of the night and we didn't have to worry about anything. Our maitre'd was also amazing. We have a couple of issues with dinners served, but they worked it out. We also had a very large wedding of about 270 people so theres no way everything can be absolutely perfect, but it was pretty close to it! Our cocktail hour was outside and it was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding. We have had guests non-stop calling us and telling us how amazing of a time they had and how nice WCC was. Also, our signature drink was a huge hit, and they had to special order lavender simple syrup for it, and they did without any issues! We highly recommend having your wedding here!
It was amazing! From the moment my husband and I arrived with our bridal party everyone was so attentive and nice. Especially our bridal attendant Aleia, Terrance, maitre d Matt and our banquet manager Lisa! Everyone went above and beyond to make our guest feel welcomed and the food was superb!
My wedding day was perfect and exceeded my expectations. Woodbury Country Club was amazing and I owe a big thank you to Carolyn, Linda and Matt. I could not have asked for a better wedding day and I highly recommend Woodbury Country Club to anyone looking for a party venue. The food was great as well as the service. Carolyn was very responsive to my many emails and I appreciate all of her help leading up to the big day!!! Linda was the ultimate calming presence and a pleasure to be around. I can't thank the team at Woodbury enough, every detail was perfect.
Woodbury was at the end of the day an excellent venue for our reception. When we started out we had a lot of issues and I was very frustrated with the service we received. But this was all linked to one individual who we signed our contract with and who is no longer working there. I have to say it was a really horrible experience with him. However, once we were assigned Jeff to work with things were smooth sailing. He was available by email at any time of day, he was responsive in a timely fashion, and worked with me to ensure that everything would be great the day of my wedding...which it was. Everyone had a fantastic time at my reception and really I can think of nothing negative to say...it was a smooth and seemingly perfect evening. Linda was my bridal attendant and I cannot even explain how excellent she is. I am so grateful to have had her assistance at my wedding. Ryan was the matre d and once again was excellent. My guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and much of that is due to Woodbury. So although it was a rough start, things wound up perfect in the end.
Our wedding at the Woodbury Country Club was everything we hoped it would be! A HUGE thank you to Jeff who was our Banquet Manager and who took care of us from Day 1. He was extremely accommodating, so quick to respond to emails/texts, and put our minds at ease with all the questions we had (of which there were plenty). The venue was absolutely gorgeous and our guests raved about it. The beautiful flowers, the fountains, the lily pads, the gazebo, etc. were all breathtaking - great for photos, too. Lucky for us, our wedding day landed on a 70 degree bright and sunny day. Kimberly was our bridal attendant and did a fantastic job. She was so sweet, and made sure I ate! Which I'm so glad I did, because the food was phenomenal. Sarah was our Maitre D' and took care of everything flawlessly. Both of them not only took care of me and my groom, but my parents as well! At one point my groom stepped on my dress and the bustle broke. Sarah and Kim calmly and quickly guided me into the bridal suite together with my mom, and with expertise that only comes with years of experience, and with two safety pins, they were able to make my bustle look as good as new. The wedding went so smoothly, I couldn't believe it! I can honestly say I had so much fun on my own wedding day, because Woodbury Country Club had everything under total control. They allowed me to be able to have a great time, knowing they were keeping everything on track. In addition, our cake from Dortoni Bakery which came included in our package was so damn good, we're planning on taking a trip back to the bakery just to get a fix! Couldn't be happier with our venue selection. Thank you Woodbury Country Club!
If you are looking for a venue that will adhere to pretty much anything you can think to request, while providing an amazing backdrop for your wedding that is trendy, yet classically elegant- the Woodbury Country Club is it! The food and alcohol was great, and the staff was fantastic. My guests could not stop talking about what an incredible time they had, and my husband and I were truly impressed by the way they coordinated our special night- We didn't have a single issue. Our Maitre'd Ryan and Bridal Attendant Francia (ask for them, they were perfect) provided a level of service and professionalism that gave us structure to accomplish everything we needed to do while still having the freedom to have an absolute blast. So glad we chose this venue- we would recommend them to anyone looking to throw the perfect Long Island wedding.
This was the most amazing day ever and Woodbury made it happen! My bridal attendant Francie (spelling her name wrong) and maitre'd Ryan were amazing! We never had to go get anything for ourselves! They took care of everything and thought of everything! The wait staff was amazing, the grounds were beautiful! I would recommend anybody to go there for any occasion. Everything was perfect, the food was amazing and anything we asked for was available. Loved loved loved Woodbury!!!!
Regarding how nice the venue looks like and the romantic gazebo I would give 5 stars. Food was also really delicious! We took David's, our manager, suggestions on choices and we are glad we listened to him! The guests loved the food; some even wondered if the food during the cocktail hour was the main course because of how full they were after! Compared to the cost per head in other venues, this was really affordable. We were really happy we were able to have our cocktail hour outdoors by the water instead of inside.
The only minus here is that when we gave instructions to the staff on the items we brought to the venue (favors, the menus, flutes, pen, guest book and bunch of decor items), they didn't follow my instructions exactly even after writing it down for them! For example:I had to remind them to bring our pen to the table where the guest book was so guests could sign it after I noticed it and they misplaced some signs that were important not to mess up.
Unfortunately we had a few groomsmen items stolen during the ceremony (presumably by someone from the other wedding taking place at the same time) and a gift misplaced. David made every effort to rectify the situation, even going as far as talking to the venue owners directly. In the end he apologized and said there was nothing he could do. Lesson learned, don't leave your belongings unattended for too long in the public areas!
We were also happy with the Maitre D and our bridal attendant. They were always asking us if we needed any refreshments and they even helped the bride with the dress when I needed some pins to fix it!
The venue didn't allow rice throwing or sky lanterns that we had wanted since there are a lot of trees around.
Hands down- my wedding was fantastic due to the people at WCC! The service for me, the groom, the wedding party, and the guests was impeccable! They went above and beyond to make our wedding truly amazing!! It's a gorgeous place and everything was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend having your wedding there -- especially in a season where you can do the ceremony and cocktail hour outside!!
I held my reception on August 28th and it was a beautiful fun filled night that provided us with joyous memories that will last a lifetime! Carolyn was our main contact after having taken over for Stephanie which left the country club and she made the transition a smooth one. Carolyn was very helpful and attentive when we had questions or concerns. Our reception was in the Garden Room and it was absolutely stunning. Our outdoor cocktail hour was a hit with our guest. We didn't partake in it as the celebrated couple and rather waited for our grand entrance during the reception but everyone told us how beautiful it was and how good the food was. The lit up pool gave an already gorgeous outdoor space an added touch. The main courses were very good which I was a bit skeptical about having read previous reviews after we had booked the location but it was delicious and plenty of our guest agreed. Having the Garden Room gave us the outdoor space the entire night which allows you options to add a special touch to your reception. We added a cigar bar where a cigar roller hand rolls cigars for a couple hours, this was very popular with our guest. Overall the venue was beautiful and the staff was very helpful especially the bridal attendant(unfortunately I can't remember her name as its going on 3 weeks now since the wedding). Our wedding was everything we hoped it could be and Woodbury Country Club played a big part in helping us accomplish this!!!!
Couldn't have imagined my wedding anywhere else! Carolyn was fabulous and worked with me up until my wedding. Everything was flawless!!! Every detail was exactly how Carolyn and I discussed. People are still raving about our wedding almost a month later!!!
We booked very last minute (about 6 weeks), so we were able to get a great deal for a small (80 ppl) wedding. Despite a snafu- our booking manager was let go a few weeks after booking and had overlapped us with a previously booked wedding- Carolyn took over seamlessly and was able to make it all work. Everything was taken care of and we didn't have a worry. The place was beautiful, the staff was easy to work with and very accommodating, the food was terrific. Our guests were extremely pleased with their experiences and had all great things to say. A great job by our bridal attendant, Kristen and our Maitre D', Matt and the entire staff.
My fiancé and I were debating whether or not to have an engagement party. We wanted a party where our families could get to know each other better and wouldn't break the bank. Since we both have large families it was hard to have something that was relaxed, low-key but wouldn't have our guest sitting in a stuffy room bored out of their minds. We checked out a few places and had difficulties finding a venue that could hold 75+ people for under $85 per person for sit-down dinner (buffet was not an option). Woodbury Country Club gave us so much for our money.
We were concerned with the food because we didn't know anyone who has ever been there. But I can assure you the food was absolutely amazing. I recommend the Gemmeli pasta with mushrooms and asparagus in a light cream sauce, I am still thinking about it weeks later. Many of our guests (who are mostly in the food business) made it a point to tell us how good the food was. We had a cocktail hour, where they passed around hot food (baby lamb chops, shrimp skewers, crab cakes, grilled cheese and tomato soup (which was a big hit), and many other delicious hors d'oeuvres. Besides the hot food passed there was cold stations set up including fruit, vegetables and cheeses. As for the sit down dinner our guests were given a pasta, salad and had the choice of shrimp, chicken and prime rib. For dessert we did not have cake instead we had Tartufo, which everyone loved.
The bar was decently stocked with a variety of liquors. They allowed us to pick three beers of our choice. And made sure my boyfriend had Patron Cafe, his favorite drink. We also made two Signature Drinks. Since our Signature Drinks were such a hit, they had to go to the liquor store during our party to restock the liquor. I thought that showed such wonderful customer service. Instead of just telling my guest they ran out, they went above and beyond to make us all happy.
Our sales rep that we originally booked with left on short notice; this had me nervous at first. Once I met our new sales rep I realized it was a blessing in disguise. Stephanie is young woman who knew her stuff. She was all about making my fiancé and I happy. I can honestly say if you are going to book a party with her she will do her best to make sure everything runs smoothly. She was attentive and was walking around along with the Maitre d (who was also very good) during our party to make sure that everything ran smoothly. The servers were pleasant and did a good job giving our guest everything they needed.
We had our engagement party on a beautiful Sunday in June. The outdoor area is absolutely stunning. It looks like you are on a tropical island. The palm trees and cabanas give a Miami feel. The pictures we took look professional because of the beautiful scenery. The tent outdoors was a comfortable temperature for those guests who don’t like the heat.
Overall, I have to say I was extremely happy with the Woodbury Country Club. And although I am happy with where we booked our wedding I'm starting to think that Woodbury Country Club may have been a better choice since they did so well with our engagement party. I recommend this place and recommend dealing with Stephanie. Weeks later our guests are still raving about the party.
We just got married at the Woodbury Country Club in March, the entire day was perfect. I still have people telling me how great everything was from the room to the food. The staff was so accommodating and helpful the day of the wedding making every little detail come to life!
The staff at Woodbury is very professional, courteous, and helpful. The food was excellent - you can try out cocktail hour and desserts at their wedding showcases. My maitre'd and bridal attendant were phenomenal - they weaved through the shadows and got things done without anyone noticing. Very attentive, very hard-working staff all around. My event manager worked with the budget and was there all night to make sure everything went as planned. I would highly recommend this venue - it is affordable and they will make you feel special and taken care of.
From start to finish my wedding was SPECTACULAR! And I am not saying this because it's my venue- EVERYONE is saying this because it's true! The staff is phenomenal, the food is OUTRAGEOUS, and the room was EXACTLY as I imagined. If you want people to talk about your event- have it here! The weather held out for us to have our ceremony at the gazebo- it was amazing with the lanterns lit and the trees were turning so it was a true fall wedding! My guests are still talking about the food- speak to Mary B when making your food choices- she will not steer you wrong! Linda was a VERY competent and attentive bridal attendant. She was truly wonderful. Matt was our Maitre D'- he made sure it all ran smoothly. My grandmother is 93 and alittle ornery, but the waiter Terrance was a doll dealing with everyone, as was Mary who had my parent's table. We cannot say enough great things about Woodbury except THANK YOU for making my day MORE than I could have imagined!
I could NOT ask for anything more!!!
we booked our wedding here because we loved what they did out doors also they recently updated the down stairs room.
Planning our wedding with them it was a little difficult ( and we are very laid back people ) . We made appointments with the hall and when we got there our maitre d didn't show ( this happened 3 times) Our first maitre d was fired 4 months after we booked our wedding and we weren't notified. To get an appointment was hard, to speak with our maitre d was like an investigation before we got on the phone with them also they forgot who my husband and I where and if we booked with them a couple of times! I felt after we gave half the hall payment they didn't want to deal with us. two days before the wedding she said she forgot to include our chair covers and it would be another $850 so we gave out credit card info the next day ( two days before ) they said sorry its really $1300! needless to say my husband went down and we got it for $850.
The wedding day My Husband and I didn't want to see each other before walking down the aisle , So they brought me around back so no one saw me ( the guys and groom where in the room in the back! ) then our Ceremony they started 45 mins late and kept our guest standing in the lobby for almost a hour! cocktail hour was good from what I heard but it was rushed due to them starting the ceremony late! during the reception they forgot my frozen bar but other then that the reception was great! the two maitre d's followed the groom and I around and made sure we had everything we wanted. They even took care of the parents and grandparents tables.
Even though it was a headache planning with them and the ceremony was late Woodbury Country Club is beautiful!! and loved how all my pictures came out with there landscape!
easy to work with, great value, available every step of the way.
My day was made perfect due to the strong management with attention to detail. They were prepared to handle every slight hiccup and I cant thank them enough. You wont go wrong here the customer service is impeccable. The were able to manage a late DJ and an unruly Photobooth attendent without batting an eye. No of my guests even noticed that either was a problem. My guests are still raving about the food. Amazing.
We had our wedding at Woodbury Country Club in August and we were very disappointed. Their service and attention to detail, both that night and throughout the entire planning process, were terrible
I strongly encourage anyone considering Woodbury CC to look at other places. You will be much happier in the end.
Our biggest problem is that they promote the fact that it will be “one event at a time”, and your guests will never see other guests and you will not notice the other event taking place. This is simply not true.
In fact, OUR WEDDING WAS ACTUALLY INTERRUPTED BY ANOTHER WEDDING!!!!!
This is simply inexcusable and unforgivable.
We were mortified, as were our guests.
Making matters worse, they handled the situation extremely poorly after the fact.
They refused to answer my questions or return my calls.
Time and time again, their customer service was atrocious.
They even yelled at the bride’s father the night of the wedding.
In addition, they were unorganized throughout the night and our wedding was poorly run.
If you want your wedding to be special and you want good customer service and an attentive staff, do not choose Woodbury CC.
You simply can not trust Woodbury CC to treat you or your wedding with the respect it deserves.
My husband and I had a blast at Woodbury CC and continue to get compliments about the food and service. The raw bar is a "must" to add to the cocktail party. We did have an issue with the bartending manager asking for extra tips and being rude to an important guest, but other than that things went smoothly. The maitre D and bridal attendant did an amazing job.
I was a little nervous because I read some bad reviews online regarding the Woodbury country club and staff. Thankfully I thought the opposite. Everything went smoothe, everyone was so nice the maitred and bridal attendants were so nice. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and Viennese hour outdoors. All our guests kept saying how beautiful it was. We had a few guests with food allergies and the Woodbury country club was very accommodating. It couldn't have been more perfect!
Woodbury did and amazing job with our wedding. The staff is soooo friendly and helpful, the food was amazing (the cocktail hour is out of this world), and the grounds are beautiful. Not a single thing went wrong that day at all. Everything went smooth and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding. The staff were so on point with everything and were always one step ahead of me. Anytime I needed something, I had it before I asked. Im still getting compliments about the venue. Highly recommended!
Woodbury did an unbelievable job at the wedding. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. It was an unforgettable day. Our banquet manager, Mary, was a pleasure to work with. It really meant a lot to us that she really listened to us and saw our vision. Our guests were raving about the venue and food for several weeks after the wedding. Our family and friends kept talking about how AMAZING the food was, especially the cocktail hour. Some of the biggest hits were the seafood station, slider station, and mashed potato bar. Everything was plentiful. On top of that, we loved our ice sculpture. My husband is a Mets fan and I am a Yankees fan. Our ice sculpture was the logo from each team. Our first course was the crab cake/salad duet and it was delicious. All the entrees were great and received many compliments especially the California Grilled Chicken. Our guests complimented how the WCC staff was friendly and helpful. The WCC grounds were breathtaking. Our maître d (Jake) and bridal attendant (Francine) were truly amazing. They made our night run smoothly and enjoyable. Everyone at WCC have exceeded our expectations and left a long lasting impression. Our guests are saying this was by far one of the best weddings they’ve been to.
We chose this wedding reception hall after scoping out all the different places in our area and price range. WCC was the best one in terms of pricing and service. We worked alongside Mary (banquet manager)... and she really helped to bring all of the wedding details together. After a HORRIBLE experience at the Crest Hollow Country Club, we really appreciated her kindness and understanding with everything. On the day of the wedding, all the fine details came together. The one and only thing we were disappointed with was that during cocktail hour, the guests did not realize they can use the outdoor patio area (since the doors were closed). We would have expected the waiters to open the doors and invite the guests outside(our wedding was on a beautiful September day) or at least set up an outdoor bar. But this is something that you can request when you are going over the details of your wedding. Our MaitreD and bridal attendant were awesome! Very sweet guy and gal, and was excellent in working with the vendors. Overall wonderful!
We got married on September 22, 2012 at the Woodbury country club. I dont even know where to begin because everything was perfect that day!! To start Carolyn is awesome, she is professional and organized and a pleasure to deal with. The staff at the Woodbury truly treat you like royalty! My bridal attendant Carleys was phenominal she even set my husband and I up with a small table and a ton of food in the bridal sweet right after we got married so we could sit alone for 5 min and enjoy each others company before the reception. The staff here are all about making the guests feel comfortable and cater to your every whim. From the waitors, the bartenders, the chefs, the bus people. They all work together like a well oiled machine and they are so pleasant and sincere with a smile always on their faces. The grounds of the Woodbury are absolutely gorgeous, not a flower or a blade of grass out of place it seemed. The grounds and all the beautiful plantings are the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos. The Woodbury country club sure knows how to throw a party and they know how to take your ideas and planning and bring all your dreams and visions for your perfect wedding to life!! The food is amazing!! The time and detail that go into the dishes and preperation are amazing! This place is all about the best food and great cocktails to go along with it. The chefs are awesome!!! My guests couldnt get over the food, the kept raving about the wide selection for cocktail hour and the quality and freshness of everything! Overall I wish I could do it all over again!! Woodbury is amazing, you will not be dissapointed, these folks aim to please!!
If you looking to for a beautiful place with good food then this is your place but if you are looking for the entire package like great service then you this NOT the place for you. My Bridal attendant was MIA for the entire event, I could find her when I needed her... While we were taking pictures my bridal was hungry and waiting for the cocktail food, she didn't even bother bring the food to our bridal room, after we were done with the picture this is when she came with a platter of food that were not presentable, they look like left overs!!! and to make matters worse she told my bridal party to go and get their own food!! I not recommend her at all, she was absolutely a waste, plus we add to tip her for doing nothing. Good food....horrible service
My overall expectation of Woodbury Country Club was good. I decided to have my ceromony on site and that turned out well. The cocktail outdoor space by the poolside was gorgeous and all my guests raved about how delicious and plentiful the food was. Although we had a few glitches, customer service was decent.
Woodbury Country Club impressed us from the start! We had heard wonderful things about it and decided to book. Our wedding day was perfect, every request was catered to. We worked with Carolyn throughout the planning process and she was great. Our guests raved about the food! Everything from the grounds to the reception room were fantastic. I did not have a single complaint about the entire thing! I highly recommend!!
Everything was excellent. The did everything that we asked for. They made our day perfect!
I could not have asked for a better wedding experience than I got at The Woodbury Country Club. Leading up to the wedding the staff was very accomodating, bring things over early, picking the menu, sampling the food, hosting numerous showcases. The day of the wedding couldn't have gone smoother. Everything ran perfectly, as the bride neither me, my family, nor my groom had to interfere with anything, they ran the wedding like a well oiled machine. I brought over lots of extras for them to set up (table cards, centerpieces, ect.) and they did everything just as I wanted. The grounds were beautiful and were in excellent condition on the day of the wedding. We had the downstairs room and the cocktail hour and ceremony outside by the gazebo and the pool (100% recommend doing this as opposed to the upstairs room and indoor cocktil hour. The grounds are beautiful and they have day beds and couches set up outside for people to use during cocktail hour. Use them!) As we were there early to take pictures the wait staff was constantly bringing us and the bridal party food and drinks while we were waiting and taking our pictures. My bridal attendant Franca was great, as well all the staff that worked directly with our wedding. What made the Woodbury Country Club so, so gret and what our guests are STILL raving about 3 weeks after the wedding is the food. The food is amazing. We had sampled it twice at a bridal showcase so we knew it was going to be good and the day of did not disapoint. The cocktail hour food was delicious, we did a Mediteranean station, tex mex, mashed potatoe, Italian, Chinese, and cold displays (though they have other choices that is just what we chose). The pass arounds were as wonderful too (especially the lamb chops and the little grilled cheese sandwiches!). All of the main course food, even the cake, was delicious. As I said our guests are still raving about how great the food was and they are right. The grounds and the food and the staff really made the wedding perfect and I would completely recommend this venue to anyone.
We had our ceremony and reception at Woodbury and they were a pleasure to work with. We were originally working with Jeff and were a little worried when he left, but Carolyn really stepped in and did a great job. She was really on top of everything. The entire staff was wonderful on our wedding day. I felt like royalty being escorted around so that the groom and I did not see each other before the ceremony. Everything went perfect and absolutely nothing went wrong. The food was excellent, definitely above par and better than any wedding food I have ever eaten. They really made our day perfect.
This place is amazing, great food, breath taking views, and amazing staff. They made my wedding day everything i can ever hope for!
My wedding was a cocktail reception in March. We had a lounge side and a set table side. It gave the room two different feels and our guests loved it. Coctail receptions are fairly new but Anthony and Glenn worked great with me to make sure the set up was just perfect. Our party was amazing and Linda my bridal attendant was just the most helpful person you could ever ask for. Great staff! Would do it the same all over again
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We originally booked with Jeff and then in October we found out that he left and we were assigned. Jeff was awesome and we really clicked when we met him and I was really upset when I found out that he left, but Carolyn was able to help us in the end and she was helpful because she was realistic with us and told us how it really was when we asked questions. The MD Jake was incredible and was a pleasure to work with from the time we arrived until the time we went home. He was nice and funny and professional and everything was perfect. The food at the cocktail hour looked great and the martini luge was a big hit. The bartender made me a special clear fruity martini to make sure I didn’t stain my dress, which I thought was very thoughtful of him! The bridal attendant Linda was really nice and helpful. She helped me go to the bathroom a few times and made sure I always had something to drink in my hand and informed me when everything was served during the reception so I knew that it was time to eat. About 15 minutes before the cocktail hour was over she grabbed me and DH to take us back to our bridal suite and had drinks and tons of plates of hot food waiting for us to enjoy and let us sit in the room alone for a few minutes before the party got started. This was awesome to sit and relax, eat and drink just the two of us before everything started. The one thing we really wanted during the CH that they didn’t have is the grilled cheese with tomato soup shots – we were told it would be there but they weren’t and they are so good so def request those!!
We took pictures outside in the back since the grounds are really beautiful. Since it was January we had to rush before the light went away and we probably didn’t get in as many pretty pictures all over because of that, but I was very happy with the ones we took. We couldn’t get any fountain pictures in since it wasn’t on, but it’s the price we paid for a wedding, but definitely don’t hold that against the WCC and knew that there was a chance it wouldn’t be on anyway.
The menu--- We chose the Maryland Crab Cake served with Sauce Remoulade, accompanied by a Field Green salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing for the
appetizer duet to maximize the dance time and everyone enjoyed that. For the main course, guests had a choice of Grilled Shell Steak with Port wine and mushroom sauce that was HUGE and people couldn’t believe the size of the meat, Chicken Madeira
sautéed and topped with asparagus and Gruyere cheese in light Madeira sauce, Herb Crusted Salmon with fresh Dill Sauce, Shrimp Oreganata and the Chef’s Vegetarian Dish. For dessert we served wedding cake and then afterwards we had the Signature Viennese Display in the After Dinner Lounge in the cocktail hour room with Coffee, Tea & Cordials in addition to the open bar. The After Hour Lounge was amazing and they set up all of their white furniture, in addition to having CH tables for people to sit and enjoy, plus they had the white dance floor in the middle to keep the party going. Unfortunately, my after hour lounge didn’t turn out as planned because the DJ didn’t announce it and people left early, and then the DJ didn’t play good dance music as requested and made it into a mellow type of party. Other than that everyone could not stop raving about the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches and the Flambé and all the other station
WCC completely exceeded our expectations! The only thing we were reluctant about was the fact that there can be two weddings going on at the same time. However the night of our wedding was seamless, us and our guests could not tell at all that there were two events at once. Carolyn, Lisa and Sara wer incredible! Our guests were so impressed with the food, service, ambiance and professionalism of the entire team. We couldnt have been more satisfied. WCC really knows how to make your night everyhting you look for! If we had the chance to get married again and again, we wouldnt change a thing!
First let me say that my wedding went very smoothly without a glitch, and the bridal attendant and maitre'd were very sweet and attentive. The venue is also very beautiful, with large groomed grounds, so no complaints there.
However, please be advised that dealing with your banquet manager can be like pulling teeth. We had to make lots of back and forth phone calls between when we booked and the week before the wedding to sort things out. For example, they wanted to charge me $1,000 for up-lighting which could either be turned on or not, while my DJ had said he could do for $500 and be flexible with turning it on and off throughout the event.
Similarly, I had a daytime wedding, and another issue arose when my banquet manager Carolyn, in order to accommodate another bride who wanted a twilight wedding, suggested that I give that bride access to my outside area for her ceremony during my reception, since that bride liked my gazebo more than the one that was included with her downstairs option. I thought that was absurd, as I was paying for full access to my area for my guests throughout the event, and wasn't offered any compensation in return. When I declined the "offer" via email, I received a very rude response back from Carolyn's manager Steve, whose client that other bride was. After my mom and husband had to get involved, Steve finally apologized for the way they had treated me and offered to comp my bridal suite the night before the wedding.
Overall, my experience on the day of the wedding was great, so I would recommend the venue to any couple looking for beautiful grounds and good food. However, just be mindful that you will have to be aggressive with the banquet managers so they do not take advantage of you.
My fiance and I started our search right after we got engaged in 2010. We had initially left a deposit on a hall in Babylon after thinking that WCC was out of our price range. After a few days had gone by we couldn't stop thinking we had made the wrong choice so we decided to book an appointment and visit WCC, thank god we did because we fell in love with the place and it turned out to be in our range.
We wanted a venue that wasn't so gaudy or over the top with marble and drapery and decor. We found the garden room to be perfect. Just enough to be tasteful and not obnoxious. The room was equipped with color Kinetics also which was a big plus as most dj's charge hundreds for that.
The outside gardens are spectacular and set a beautiful scene for pictures, with palm trees, lounge furniture, white couches and up lighting. Very miami and very trendy feeling. There is also a HUGE tented area in cases of inclement weather which happened to us on our day. Thankfully we got our pictures done on the grounds right before a monsoon arrived. Cocktail hour was moved to the tented area and was perfect given the circumstances. They have you totally covered, figuratively and literally should weather show up on your day.
From the beginning process to the day of the wedding we were very pleased with WCC and their staff. Carol is a dream to work with and made sure every question was answered, she even got us a Penguin ice sculpture for cocktail hour, which by the way people could not get enough of. My tip to you is spring for the slider station and sushi platters. Our guests were inhaling them!!
Our maitre' d and bridal attendant were awesome and we never heard a peep from anyone all night, everything just flowed from one thing to the next and everything we needed was there before we asked for it. We found the room to be perfect size for our wedding of 175 although it can hold up to 300. The dance floor was rocking all night.
Dinner selections were delicious be sure to look for the shell steak one of my buddies commented "It was the best steak at a wedding he has had yet" Crab cake was amazing and the vianese hour kept our guests full all night long.
All in all we both had an amazing day and would not hesitate to recommend WCC to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue, with amazing food and cocktail selections and prompt and courteous staff.
Go check them out and book your wedding with confidence!!!!!
Me and my now husband had our wedding here on 6/511. We picked this hall because of their incredible food and outdoor area which reminded us of miami. The day of the wedding went so great! My bridal attendant and maitre d were fabulous and my banquet manager, Jeff, who had worked with me from the time I booked was fabulous and answered all of my questions. The food was incredible and so was the vienesse hour! I def recommend this hall!
Woodbury Country Club is gorgeous!!! My husband found them first and after we saw a few other locations, we went to Woodbury and I immediately cancelled all our future appointments with other venues. We knew this was it. They have a very tropical feel complete with tropical flowers, palm trees, lounge furniture, outside bar, pool, etc...Food was amazing, our banquet manager who sadly is not with them anymore was the best. The gave us a great price! The 1 and only complaint I have about them was the wedding before ours was running late, which happens so naturally our wedding started 45 minutes late which again is ok. However, there was another wedding after hours and since they were behind, they totally rushed our wedding. We were rushed through our pictures which I was really upset about considering how much money we spent on it! I feel they did not handle the lateness the right way and my wedding suffered. They should have held the other wedding back to get our time and extended their reception. I am currently in contact with them to see if i can get some money back because we obviously didn't get what we paid for. Other than that, I give them an A++++.
My maitre 'd and bridal attendant were fantastic! Everyone commented on how attentive the wait staff was and how fantastic the food was. Only complaint was they didn't tell the tables that there was an ice cream bar and chocolate fountains.
excellent venue! could not be happier with the food and appearance. service was also on point. the only downside was that the person in charge of our wedding changed 3 times because employees kept leaving which was not ideal.
This place does not even deserve stars, it was literally the absolute worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. From the constant rudeness of the managers, the hidden charges and the servers showing up late on my wedding day. Woodbury's managers tried charging me extra on top of the $20,000 i was paying them to put cakes on the tables at my request. They were absolutely ridiculous. They forgot our ice sculpture that was stated in our agreement. The servers actually yelled at our guests at one point. It was HORRIBLE. I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemies it was that bad. It made one of the most important days of my life miserable.
" I got married at Woodbury on July 17, 2011. Everything went flawlessly, it was the perfect day! So many of my guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. This is an attribute to their detailed-oriented, professional staff. My husband and I were treated like royalty at our wedding. The food was amazing and the viennesse hour was to die for. Our banquet manager Jeff worked with us all the way through, no detail was too small, and we thank him for helping make our wedding day, the best day of our lives. :)
Currently filing the following complaints with the BBB:
1.) Woodbury Country Club failed to provide an Ice Sculpture for our Outdoor Cocktail Hour event on June 18th 2011 which was part of the Contractual Agreement given to us by Woodbury Country Club.
2.) Woodbury Country Club failed to provide actual (Alcoholic) Champagne in toast glasses on every table setting during our Wedding Reception on June 18th 2011. Instead Apple Juice was served at every table setting. Our contract from Woodbury Country Club stated that Champagne would be served on every table setting.
3.) Instead of previously agreed fees of first 10 children free, each additional will be charged $10, Woodbury Country Club had charged $60 for each of the 18 children at the event, totaling $1080.00. All 18 children can be proven to have attended the event via RSVP and photos taken.
Woodbury Country Club threatened to not staff our party unless all of the kids were paid for on the day of the event.
The Woodbury Country Club staff were extremely rude to our guests during and before the Wedding Reception. Jeff and Steve were horrific to deal with and it is a shame they are in charge of running that place.
I was just reading news about WCC and in August 2010, a whole valet box full of car keys was stolen right in front of their eyes at a wedding. No one got their keys back.
There are plenty of other venues near WCC that are nicer, equally affordable and have much better customer service. If you are considering this place for your wedding/reception, you will be very disappointed. It is supposed to be a pleasant experience, but at WCC you will feel cheated for sure.
This was the second time my family had an affair at Woodbury and I wouldn't be surprised if we have a third in the future. The service was wonderful, the staff was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for a better day. My Bridal Attendent, Francia, was so attentive and took care of all my needs without me even having to ask! The food was great and all of our guests had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend Woodbury to anyone looking for a wedding venue!
The food, the service, my bridal attendant, etc., was AMAZING!! I can go on and on about how perfect the staff here made me, my husband and my guest feel. The view and decor were perfect. I enjoyed my wedding to the fullest without worrying if my guest were comfortable and having fun. The staff at Woodbury country club had EVERYTHING under contol. I highly recommend this place for your wedding.
Woodbury is beautiful and the food from what all our guests said was beyond great. They have a great variety and you wont get bored or not be able to find something to please everyone.
Issues: They never gave us what should be the address to put into the gps and more than half of our guest were lost including the DJ.
There was poor communication btwn the person taking care of our contract and what needed to be done and the matrie'd. halfway through the reception the frames that was for a guest at each table I found piled on my table. I didnt even get the frames back!!! (I also had cards on each table for guests to know who got the frames and centerpieces)
overall the experience was pretty good and i would recommend it just be very on point with everything that you want done.
We got married in the Garden area (the downstairs room, outdoor cocktail hour, and ceremony by the pool area). It was beautiful and everyone said it was amazing! We're Jewish so we used the outdoor gazebo as our Chuppah and I think it was a little bit hard for our guests to see us - the gazebo is quite short so the tops of our heads were cut off (just a little bit) in all of our guests' pictures. The chairs used at the ceremony were just white plastic chairs which I felt were a little tacky, but it didn't bother me THAT much. The Cocktail Hour was great and everything looked very nice. There is a big tent set up on one side of the grounds, and the rest is outdoors. Minor complaint is that there was a bunch of food inside the tent but a majority of the people were outside so they missed the platters inside there.
FOOD:
Woodbury offers about 20 different kinds of passed hors dourves which all taste great but my mom had mentioned that there weren't enough people walking around with them. We had three stations during CH - Mediterranean Station, Asian Station, and a Mashed Potato Bar. After tasting the food from the Mediterranean Station, I would have opted for something else - it was kind of a waste of a station. The Asian Station had amazing food (especially the dumplings and spring rolls), and the Mashed Potato Bar was a huge hit, especially with our friends (the older crowd was not as happy with it). At the reception, we went with the Grilled Veggie Napoleon & salad duo as our appetizer. it was hit-or-miss. Half our guests loved it while others didn't even touch it. I would choose something else if i had a second chance. For entrees, we chose the Shell Steak, the Herb Crusted Salmon, the California Grilled Chicken, and Shrimp Oreganato. Everyone who I had spoken to said their meals were amazing. Then came dessert - we had the mango sorbet. It was amazing and extremely refreshing and everyone ate it and enjoyed it. We were so warm by that point in the night that a nice, light dessert was perfect. And then the wedding cake of course (to be described in the cake section). One other thing to add is regarding the Glatt Kosher meals. We had 9 guests who ate these and heard they were really not very good. The meals apparently came in tv-dinner like trays and just didn't taste good. They also did not receive salad or anything along with their meals. I felt a little bad, but there's not too much to do (i wasn't about to make my entire wedding glatt kosher just for these 9 guests)
Oh, i just remembered one little no-no - when it came time to sign our Ketubah, we each had to have a witness there. DH's witness was nowhere to be found. The bridal attendants went to look for him but said he wasn't in the lobby. We finally opted to just use our "backup" witness. When we spoke to the original guy after the wedding, he said that he was upstairs in the lobby the entire time! He had told people that he needed to go downstairs to sign the ketubah with us but they wouldn't let him go downstairs! Oh well, not a big deal, but a little annoying.
And one other annoyance: when DH and I booked with WCC, we had also gotten a cordials bar at the end of the night (this was actually thrown in for free) but we never saw this. I never followed up with WCC because it just didn't matter at all (it was a free-be so it's not like we lost any money here)
The best way to sum up my experience with Woodbury Country Club is my husband and I got sold. Leading up to our wedding Woodbury was attentive and seemed too good to be true. Well it was! I had reservations about booking with Woodbury because they are a 2 bride facility. I really wanted to be the only bride. Woodbury promised me multiple times that I wouldn’t even know the other bride was there and that she would be arriving 1 hr after my guests and I had arrived. Well on my wedding day I walked in to a lobby full of guests for the other wedding and the other bride and groom. As you can imagine I was very upset.
Next we went in to the room where I first saw my wedding cake. We had asked Woodbury to give us a cake credit so we could go out and get a Crumbs cupcake cake. Woodbury refused to do this and said we had to use their in-house baker. We paid to upgrade our cake and what a mistake that was. Our cake was the complete opposite of what we had ordered in terms of decorations. But the worst part was that either Woodbury or the baker had put fresh cut flowers in the top tier of our cake. This is something we said from day one we didn’t want. When they pulled the flowers out the top tier the cake collapsed in.
After missing 90% of our cocktail hour trying to figure out how we could fix the cake we finally went to our cocktail hour. This is where we discovered that our ice sculpture which was supposed to be serving our signature drink was not in the shape we requested nor was it serving our signature drink Blue Lagoon. Instead it had a vodka bottle next to it which our quest were expected to pour themselves and the lift a lever to obtain their chilled vodka. I thought this was a wedding not a party at a frat house.
To make matters worse when I started getting upset and voicing my complaints about the cake, other bride, and the wrong ice sculpture, instead of Woodbury being professional and fixing their mistakes they instead told me “to stop looking for the negative because it would only ruin my day”.
All in all I was very upset with my experience with Woodbury. Yes the food was good according to guests but the customer service on your wedding day, the most important day is horrible. Once they have your money (two weeks in advance) they really just don’t care.
I got married at the Woodbury Country Club and the place was amazing. The service I recieved from our banquet manager, bridal attendant and maitre d' was top notch. They were constantly making sure we were satisfied with everything. I got food catered from outside so I can't review the food there. I had some issues with the BM before we booked but he turned out to be great later! I had the whole place to myself which was ideal. I would not have liked to have another bride there at the same time especially because I wanted to be able to take pictures on all of their beautiful grounds.
