20 Vegas Wedding Guest Dress Ideas for a Sin City Celebration
There are all types of weddings and all types of wedding guest attire—but by far the most fun is the Vegas wedding guest dress category. Dressing for a wedding in Las Vegas is unlike anywhere else: Guests can be more creative, bolder and slightly more daring with their fashion choices.
"If a couple is getting married in Vegas, they want their guests to have fun," says Danyelle Verhaalen, the Vegas-born-and-raised bridal stylist behind Grey Pearl. "So don't be afraid of leaning into the vibes."
The goal should be to take things up a notch: Don't just wear green, wear electric lime green. Don't just wear a ball gown, wear a ball gown with over-the-top earrings or a headpiece. Search for elements that take your look just one step further and stretch your creativity. "A Vegas wedding is really an experience!" Verhaalen says. "Las Vegas as a destination wedding location allows for fun additions like world-class food, entertainment and locations that truly speak to the history of the city." Your fashion should match that vibe.

Vegas Wedding Guest Dress Ideas You Can Shop Now
"When shopping for a wedding in Las Vegas, think color, fun prints, interesting shapes and yes, even sequins!" Verhaalen says. In short: Be bold. Note that such unique pieces can often be a bit pricier than your typical wedding guest dress, especially those with unique embellishment or luxe fabrications. Here, we rounded up 20 unique ideas to spark some inspiration at a variety of price points.
1. An Electric Green Dress
Lime and electric green are having a huge moment in creative wedding fashion, and the hue is perfect for Vegas wedding attire. Whether it's a structured taffeta ball gown or something slinkier, you can apply the hue to a sophisticated silhouette to mix things up. "Pairing this bold color with bold earrings really gives a fun edge," Verhaalen says. "It makes it feel elevated, and it looks like you put in effort for your friend's big day!" Use code THEKNOT20 for 20% off first-time purchases.
2. An Ombre Silk Dress
Ombre is the perfect creative way to do color in a dress for a Vegas wedding guest—it's slightly more statement-making than one solid shade. This one-size-fits-all silk dress comes in three ombre hues—sky, lime or rose—each more fitting for Vegas than the last. Pair it with an ombre headscarf to double down on the look, or strappy sandals and bold earrings.
3. A Fuchsia Suit
"Just because it's formal, doesn't mean you have to wear a dress," Verhaalen says. Opt for suiting instead—but give it that Las Vegas twist. "Vegas really allows you to have fun with color and still be tailored and completely chic." This fuchsia double-breasted jacket and pants from Mango are a fashion-forward choice. Go all in on color with a bold bag in a complementary hue.
4. A Sultry Midi
This blue stunner gives the classic midi dress a sexy spin with a deep V cowl neck and backless halter. You might feel a bit bare at other weddings, but "you can lean a little bit sexier in Vegas than other cities," Verhaalen says. She suggests looking for styles with fun side cut outs or a high leg slit. Use code THEKNOT20 for 20% off first-time purchases.
5. Green Sequins
Any Las Vegas wedding guest dress needs to have an element that sets it apart; it must be intentional in its boldness. This green cowl dress isn't just sequined—that would be too ordinary. Rather, it's covered in unique sequin droplets on beaded strings that will have you shimmering in the desert sun. A look like this doesn't call for much accessorizing; add metallic strappy heels and a clutch.
6. A Ruched Mini
Mini dresses are totally acceptable in Las Vegas, all the more so when they're creative and cool. This one in trending green has ruched jersey fabric, an asymmetric top and a cool sash detail that adds a level of formality. Pair it with strappy gold heels and earrings.
7. Unique Fringe
This Las Vegas wedding guest outfit combines more than one unique element: It has an open-knit pattern featuring shimmery metallic thread, a cool halter neck and of course, the statement circle fringe. We love that it has the feel of a minidress but the formality of a maxi, making it perfect for a Vegas wedding.
8. An Artistic Print
Forget polka dots and stripes—get creative with print. Anything artistic will do well at Vegas weddings; this one has a hand-painted feel with squiggles that call to mind the neon lights. There's proof it works IRL: "My bride's future sister-in-law wore this gown to her wedding last weekend in Vegas and I loved it," Verhaalen says. "It's such a fun dress to play with accessories and sleek hair."
9. A Halter with Unique Details
A black-tie dress code calls for full-length gowns—yes, even in Las Vegas—but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with it. This formal wedding guest dress has a chic gold ball detail at the halter neck and tall front slit. Add chunky gold bangles or earrings.
10. An Edgy Twist on Pink
Blush pink palettes can lean a little feminine and soft for Vegas weddings, so if you're committed to the color, make sure it's used in a creative, daring way. Here, tulle is layered, gathered and draped in tiers down a full-length skirt; a high slit, open back and peekabo floral lace layer underneath give it a sexy edge.
11. A Sequined Jumpsuit
It doesn't get more on-brand for Las Vegas wedding attire than this: A Studio 54-inspired strapless jumpsuit covered top to toe in purple and silver sequins. The look is perfect for a Vegas wedding and will carry you all the way through to the nightclub after-party. The black sash belt anchors the look; pair it with black heels to match.
12. A Hot Pink Dress
No color is too bold for a Las Vegas wedding, so if you've been waiting for the right occasion to wear your hottest, most neon pink dress, here's your chance. This electric pink frock has a stretchy smocked bodice and ruffled chiffon skirt. Paired with flats, it could work as casual Vegas wedding attire, but heels and a blingy necklace will instantly elevate it.
13. Cool Cutouts
Cutouts usually ride a fine line of appropriateness for weddings, but in Vegas, showing a little skin is more acceptable, Verhaalen notes. This dress keeps the look classy with a keyhole cutout below the bustline and one-shoulder silhouette. Use code PETALXKNOT for 15% off purchases.
14. A Desert-Chic Dress
Though it's most known for the neon lights of its famous Strip, Las Vegas is a desert landscape, and many weddings there take place on dry earth rather than amid the oasis of lights. For those weddings, lean into the climate with earthy colors and an organic print. This dress has an on-trend basque waist and cool halter ring detail.
15. A Vibrant Print
Prints and patterns play up the artistry of Las Vegas weddings, so if you're wondering what to wear to a Las Vegas wedding, they're typically a safe bet. Combine bold color and print for an even more creative look; this fitted halter mock neck is a perfect example. Use code THEKNOT20 for 20% off first-time purchases.
16. A Unique Take on Florals
If you are usually a floral dress girlie, fear not: You can make the look work in Las Vegas, too. Look for elements that add a unique point of view; here, the florals are hand-drawn, the hem lands cheekily mid-thigh and the chain detailing at the neck adds a bit of edge.
17. A Feathered Midi
"Why not take some inspiration from Liberace with sparkles and feathers?" Verhaalen says. This midi dress has both, but in a toned-down, elegant style that's perfect for a wedding guest.
18. A Sequined Gown
Bring the shimmer to the dance floor at black-tie and formal weddings with a fully sequinned floor-length gown. This one has a stunning, sculptural silhouette and chic rose-gold finish to the sparkly sequins and would be stunning in any Las Vegas setting (plus, we love to rent a wedding guest dress!).
19. A Disco Ball Dress
Don't be afraid to lean into the theme at Las Vegas weddings; some of the best wedding guest dresses for Las Vegas can help with that. Take this Farm Rio style, for instance: Its grayscale mosaic print mimics a disco ball, and its sleeveless twirly silhouette is perfect for the dance floor.
20. Florals With Fringe
Floral dresses are usually a perfect pick for weddings: They're feminine, demure and summery. For Vegas, though, you'll want to kick the sweet style up a notch. This halter has a moody black-and-white dahlia splashed across it, and long black fringe from the asymmetric hem. Its palette makes it a great fit for more formal Vegas dress codes.
Where to Shop for a Las Vegas Wedding Guest Outfit
Shopping for wedding guest dresses can be tough: What's right for the venue? What is appropriate? But shopping for Vegas wedding guest dresses is a little more fun: The rules are more lax, there's more room for creativity, and what's most appropriate is what's most authentic to you. Here's where to buy wedding guest dresses for celebrations in Las Vegas.
ASOS: ASOS is full of both everyday-wear items and super funky fashions. You'll find no shortage of bold color, unique prints, sequins, glitter and more through the online retailer. There are a wide range of price points and sizes and, for men, unique and colorful suiting.
Club L London: While the retailer offers plenty of chic, sophisticated and classic guest dresses, there's a subset of its inventory that puts the emphasis on "club": mini dresses, sexy cutouts, bold colors, fringe and more—including stellar options for Vegas weddings or bachelorette parties.
Nordstrom: A classic go-to for wedding guests in general, the department store also has a Pandora's box of Vegas-ready options (check out brands like Dress the Population and Retrofête)—plus menswear.
Rent the Runway: If Vegas wedding guest dressing is a little out of the box compared to your usual attire, rent instead of buying a new piece! Rent the Runway has high-end designer pieces and tons of creative cocktail dresses that are perfectly on theme.
Revolve: A trusty choice for everything from music festivals to date night to bachelorette parties, Revolve offers an inventory of cool-girl pieces with form-fitting silhouettes, sexy cutouts, bold color and unique details.
What to Wear to a Vegas Wedding as a Guest
When it comes to Vegas wedding guest dressing, the key is creativity. Be daring with your fashion choices, whether through color, print or bold accessorizing. Of course, just as with any other wedding, there are a few factors to consider when deciding what to wear to a wedding in Vegas
Formality: "We've been seeing a lot more couples request a formal dress code," Verhaalen says, "But 'Vegas formal' doesn't necessarily translate to black-tie. Rather, it encourages people to really put thought into their outfits and not just show up in a sundress or a sport coat." Make sure you check the invitation or wedding website for any cues. "If the couple has requested 'formal,' make sure it's a floor-length gown," Verhaalen adds. "If pants are more your comfort, I love an excuse to wear a tuxedo."
Theme: If ever there was a place to host a themed wedding, Vegas would be it—and Verhaalen has been seeing more of that from her couples, especially those hosting smaller events. "One of my recent favorites was a downtown Las Vegas wedding that asked their guests to come dressed inspired by 'ladies of the night' and everyone looked fabulous," she says.
Weather: "Las Vegas is in a desert, so weather is something to consider when shopping," Verhaalen says. "Obviously, we're known for our heat in the summer, but winters can be bitterly cold. And early spring can be extremely windy!" That said, hot weather doesn't translate to beachwear. "Just because Vegas feels like a vacation city doesn't mean you can dress for a wedding like you're in a resort town," the stylist adds. "So leave the beachy dresses for another time."
Venue: No matter the wedding destination, always consider the venue as well. Vegas wedding venues vary from little chapels of love to desert-chic tented locales, and your attire should fit the vibe. A hotel ballroom and a rooftop day club have different dress codes, albeit all somewhat more creative than those same venues in other cities.
