Matt and Laura and all of the Cedar Crest staff are wonderful!! They were so accommodating, took care of every detail, and helped us make decisions for what would work best for our vision and their venue. We selected Cedar Crest for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony site, and reception site. When you book, you also are booking rooms and suites for the event. My sister, the Maid of Honor, and I stayed in the French Quarter suite leading up to the wedding. It was gorgeous and so comfy! Each suite is equipped with a mini fridge, Hinkley water system and aluminum water bottles for you to use during your stay, a Keurig coffee machine, and fluffy robes and slippers. The main lodge has a mini fridge stocked with sodas, a microwave and popcorn, and Hinkley water systems in the common areas for the guests to use. Each room is also connected by a large adjoining bathroom. Each event went so smoothly and the staff was so attentive! Also, the food is DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Every meal was so scrumptious and our guests could not stop raving about it. We chose steaks with mashed potatoes and asparagus for the rehearsal, and everything was cooked perfectly (I’m pretty sure I could’ve eaten a whole roaster pan of the asparagus). Their almond cream cheese pound cake is to die for! After the rehearsal, the guys played lawn games, we soaked in the jacuzzi tub with herbal bath salts provided by the lodge, and everyone sat around a fire pit trading stories and laughs. Staying out for the sunset and getting up for the sunrise are a MUST!! Cedar Crest has some of the most beautiful grounds I have ever seen and the view is breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The morning of the wedding our bridal party and family, who were also guests at the Lodge, were served a buffet breakfast of bacon, eggs, fruit, homemade cinnamon muffins, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee. As per usual, this was delicious! It was so nice to have the whole lodge to ourselves so we could spend time with our loved ones, relax, and enjoy some good food together before the festivities started. The wedding went so smoothly and the staff were so professional, accommodating, and welcoming. If I’m honest, I was pretty nervous about having a chicken option on the reception buffet line because you run the risk of dry chicken. Boy, was I wrong! Whatever you order for menu options at Cedar Crest will be delicious, but I would give the Graham’s Chicken 10 stars if I could. It was so juicy, flavorful, and tender. We had guests going back 2 and 3 times for more! The beef tenderloin in a burgundy wine sauce was just as delicious and it was so tender!! I’m pretty sure my husband just skewered the whole tenderloin and ate it off his fork because he was so hungry from pictures and it was so tasty :). We also stayed in the Tuscan Manor for the first night of our honeymoon and it was a wonderful, private suite! I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the people who work there, but it can be summed up in:
BOOK THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You won’t regret it.
