My husband & I were clueless about flowers. We knew we wanted them but we weren't looking for frilly or standard arrangements (didn't match our personal style). We met with James & he instantly "got us" and what made sense for us. He worked with our budget and our day of coordinator said he was incredibly helpful. After working with James, it's clear he's a great guy who is also an incredibly talented florist.
The flower arrangements were gorgeous! He was able to accommodate my small budget, albeit we had many back and forths to figure out how to get the flowers/arrangement style I like to fit my budget. The only issue I had was responsiveness - sometimes it took James a full week or more to respond to my emails. I learned later on that texting seems to get much more immediate responses.
James made my day so special. He understood the vision I wanted for the decor of my centerpieces. My bouquet was absolutely amazing. I was so pleased with everything! Best Florist!!!!!!
I cannot say enough about James and his art. He himself is absolutely charming and a complete pleasure to work with. His objective is to please and he prides himself in his work. He is also a calming personality, which is certainly a plus when planning a big wedding!
I asked for a whimsical theme, a concept he had never undertaken before and put him through somewhat of an arduous process while we developed the floral arrangements for my special day. James was perpetually present and ready to rumble!
My wedding was literally out of a fairy tale. Completely elegant, chic and playful. This is ALL thanks to James.
Even more, on the big day I was not satisfied with the boutonnieres for the groomsmen and he redid them on the spot without a huff. The final product was stunning.
I cannot say enough about James but I will simply say he is a wonderful guy with incredible artistic, vision and talent. He created sheer magnificence at my daughters wedding. He also incorporated my wants and my daughters though they were not the same. Mostly he is brilliant and so talented. Don t waste your time with anyone else. James is simply the best!!
Working with James on the flowers was wonderful. He met with me several times and took me into flower shops so I could see the actual flowers we'd be using and to pick the ribbon/bowls etc. Originally he was THE ONLY florist that stuck to the budget that I proposed and that meant a lot to me. His main goal was to make sure that I was satisfied and happy the day of my wedding and even made a few changes last min and never adjusted the budget higher. If you want quality service, and a hands-on experience with the florist, James Francois-Pijuan is the way to go especially here in NYC when it is easy to become just another bride, James will make your day special.
My husband and I loved our personal floral for our wedding! It was all we hoped for and more! It was a pleasure to work with James and his team!
James was a great flower vendor. He really worked with us with our extremely limited budget. The flowers were beautiful and I can't tell you how many of our guests complimented the beauty of out flowers and the reception center pieces (which were crystal silver branches with crystal covered candles & flowers). I gave a 4 for Service because I requested all purple and white and he had put a lot of red & pink... The overall effect was still purple but it just wasn't want I had envisioned. That being said, I am the only person who knew that and the flowers looked amazing. I really appreciated James's creativity and vision. We didn't end up with "wedding flowers" which is what I definitely didn't want. He was also extremely calm and reassuring. Very easy to work with!
I recently had my wedding at the United Nations in Manhattan. James was one of the first vendors we spoke to and he immediately made us feel at ease planning our large wedding. One of my favorite things about him is that, unlike other vendors, he is willing to work with your projected budget and offer suggestions of what he thinks would work best with your venue and wedding party. He also listens very closely to what you envision your space to looks like and really makes it come to life. I told James that I wanted a very lush feel with tropical flowers for my bouquet, ceremony, and reception. He executed exactly the way I wanted and everyone thought the ceremony and centerpieces were stunning! He even listened to what color dresses my bridesmaids would be wearing and suggested what color flowers would look good in the photos- and they really did! I am so glad that we worked with James and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding!
James at Francois-Pijuan was amazing! The flowers were absolutely beautiful it made my day! They listened to exactly what I wanted but then took my vision and made it more incredible than I could ever have imagined. I would recommend them to any bride looking for good service, pleasant vendors and beautiful arrangements!!
All I can say is I LOVE JAMES!!! I wanted a bouquet that James had explained to me is a celebrity bouquet and I would need at least 2 more made for it to last through out the day for pictures. He made some suggestions but still wasn't 100% sold on them. When he arrived on my wedding day I was in love with my bouquet it was more beautiful than the one I dreamed of. I actually have it in a vase right now it held up today and it is now day two. I didn't have a bridal party but he did also arrange to have 50 white roses delivered and 3 boutineers. Another plus I feel his prices were extremely fair for Manhattan. Again, I love James, we had never met but he had this contagious laugh over the phone brought a certain confidence of relief. I highly recommend James. If you would like to see my bouquet I can email you pics conwaysdoll@gmail.com
I am fairly delayed in writing this review as I struggled with finding the words to describe how phenomenal Francois-Pijuan Floral Design is and finally I realized, there are no words to describe how truly amazing they are!
After months of getting nowhere with a different florist, I started my hunt for someone else. With only 3 months left until the big day and trying to plan my New York wedding from Canada, I was worried that I wouldn’t find anyone who could work with me on such short notice while still achieving our overall vision. I came across Francois-Pijuan Floral Design and quickly sent off an e-mail inquiring as to if they were booked for the date of my wedding. The next day, James himself called me to advise that he wasn’t booked and he’d love to provide me with a proposal. We spent no more than 15 minutes discussing my vision on the phone and within a few weeks of our initial conversation, we had finalized the proposal and I had paid my deposit.
The week of my wedding, I met with James for the first time. I was so unsure as to what to expect but was so amazed with the mock table arrangement he had done up for me - it was simply beautiful. After that brief face to face meeting, I truly felt he understood us and our vision.
The day of the wedding was hectic! Our pictures preceded our ceremony and reception and because we were running late, I didn’t get to see the ceremony set-up prior to walking down the aisle. I walked out the door to go down the aisle and was left completely breathless by what James had done. The space was beyond stunning! I had asked James to create cherry-blossom like alter arrangements as I love cherry blossom trees but they were out of season at the time. What he created exceeded everyone’s expectations, especially mine. The candles and petals sprinkled along the aisle were beautiful and James went above and beyond to give the space the romantic feel we wanted.
After the ceremony, the space had to be re-set for the reception and James stuck around to give a hand with this (Seriously…who does that!?!). I was left just as breathless by the reception décor as I was by the ceremony. The centerpieces were just as stunning as the rest of the décor as were all of the bouquets/boutonnières.
James worked with me to keep everything within my budget and the end result was more perfect than I dreamed of. I can honestly say that I am James’ biggest fan. If I ever have the chance to use him again, I will definitely do so.
James is an artist. He has so much talent and amazing ideas. My wedding flowers were breath-taking. And the additional decor had everyone gushing. I wish I could have stopped time just to admire the ceremony and reception decoration.
I wanted a lush look and James carefully let me know what different blooms would add to the look and to the cost. From what I've seen of his work he can interpret lots of visions and he did a wonderful job doing that for me. I didn't tell him at the time, but I actually upped my budget a bit once I saw what he could do.
I would say if you have a specific picture in your head: set aside time to go over it with him as you are not going to get a cookie-cutter or traditional result. He will hear you if you say "no" to something.
While he works with some (really) big deal events in Manhattan he still is willing to work with brides on a budget. I don't know how he does it now that I've seen how much work goes into these creations but he does his work with a real passion. His enjoyment in his work in infectious!
A date opened up at a beautiful harbor venue in June and I booked it leaving only 3 months to plan an elegant wedding, luncheon and honeymoon. Since my wedding project was accelerated, I relied on Francois-Pujuan Virtually to help me pull it off!
I knew Francois-Pijuan's work from several gala events at the Plaza Hotel and The Pierre whereby his artistic and organic floral creations complimented the space, so I called him to do the same for my second wedding...VIRTUALLY!
We never met! I consulted with him and hired him virtually. I sent jpegs of the men's suits, my dress, and my venue space issues. We reviewed and discussed what my concerns and options were using a computer and phone!
My husband and I are in our 50's, both busy producers, both second marriages, our grown sons were the 'best man' and 'man of honor'. Midnight Blue suits for the boys and couture midnight blue evening gown for me. Beautiful harbor venue with magnificent sunsets.
When I arrived at the venue, I was thrilled to find that Francois-Pijuan had helped make my wedding day gorgeous!
He addressed my concerns and suggestions and delivered a most elegant and beautiful bouquet filled with exotic flowers in complimentary colors. The boys had an unusual blend of orchids and blueberry stalks for their lapels and venue issues were solved with floral vine-wrapped drapes.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Francois-Pijuan for any event that you may want to produce. He is smart, extremely talented, reliable and affordable!
I got married on September 25, 2010 at the Fountainhead in New Rochelle, NY. James Francois- Pijuan was my decorator; he did an absolutely amazing job. I did not want the traditional flower centerpieces and he had so many different alternatives that did not include flowers. His ideas are very original. I told him that I wanted simple elegance and he met my expectations and then some. I could not have asked for more beautiful arrangements and centerpieces. My bouquets were gorgeous, everything that I ever wanted for my wedding. What I really loved was that he would really listened to my ideas and really thought out everything he put together for me. He never tried to push his ideas. I would definitely use his services again and highly recommend him for your event.
James was an amazing Florist! He was on time for everything! He met with all necessary vendors, and went way above the call of his duty! The flowers were out of this world! Every guest complimented on the amazing table displays and the beautiful arch he made for us! His prices were very reasonable! He will bend over backwards for any of his customers to make sure they are 100% satisfied! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY (did I mention HIGHLY?) RECOMMENDED!!!
James was an absolute great florist!!! He was professional, friendly and had great communication!!! He always made himself avaliable whenever I asked, and I received so many compliments on all of the flowers he provided! I especially loved the escort table arrangement - it was so large and regal... beautiful creations!!
James is truly a master of living art! My wedding was absolutely beautiful. When I started researching arrangements & florists I wanted something cutting edge Daniel Ost style. Well Honey- James blew him out the box. My arrangements and bouquets were adorned with blue, purple and green orchids, peacock & ostrich feathers. The shapes of my bouquets were all abstract shaped intentionally. My arrangements were these big huge domes high full of flowers so beautiful. Everyone at my wedding raved about the flowers; my vision definitely came to forwishen. I booked James a year early within that year we spoke via email numerous times. He always was very responsive, engaged and passionate about my event. Now if that wasn’t enough---What really impressed me about James is that I changed all my flowers 2 weeks before the wedding. DON’T TRY THIS by the way LOL. The outcome not even the creator of Alice & Wonderland could imagine. It was Alexander McQueen meets Fendi meets ChuchuLyn!!! Purely Fabulous!!
There's really no way to accurately capture what Francois-Pijuan did for our wedding. Our space was very industrial and very no frills: old freight elevator, lots of brick, poor lighting, and broken windows. The space was pretty much a blank canvas. My wife and I were a bit overwhelmed with wedding planning, so we simply had James show up to meet us at the space and told him, "do whatever you think is right." He walked around the space barely making eye contact with us and just absorbing the space. The result: everything was phenomenal. He sprinkled votives of candles throughout the space primarily underneath the windows, which subtly highlighted the unpolished look of the place, which is exactly what we wanted to do despite never really vocalizing that. The tables had gorgeous yellow and orange centerpieces in a box, with leave-less branches jutting out from within, which again captured the unpretentious look we were going for. Finally, the table for my wife and I was decorated to look like something out of a fairy tale, with flower petals strewn about, half-melted candles spilling onto the surface, and huge chalices for us to to drink from. Aside from the look being precisely what we wanted with only minimum direction, everything was done early and without any hassle to either myself or my bride. I really do not know what else to say other than it was perhaps one of the most perfect parts of an otherwise perfect evening.
From the amazing chuppa to the stunning orchids and lotus votives, James Francois-Pijuan and his team transformed the Tribeca loft where we were married into a magical, beautiful space filled with love and joy. Our theme was "Lotuses in Love" and our colors were orange and silver. We thought of it as a modern, clean take on spirituality, but we still wanted lots of warmth. From the very first moment I met with James and showed him our save the dates and invites, the sari for the chuppa, and shared our vision, he just "got it". A close friend had suggested James because she said, "He has an innate ability to translate and expand on people's visions and he's incredibly creative and well-priced." Well, let me tell you, not only did James translate our vision, but he captured the essence of who we are as a couple. He somehow seemed to sprinkle "us" in every corner of the room, on every table, throughout our space, just like fairy dust. The whole space was filled with us ad our love, based on all of the aesthetic choices he put together. Aside from being such a pleasure to work with, open, kind, reasonable and honest, the man is a creative genius! If you're looking for a dynamic, creative and kind florist and event designer all in one, or even separately, call James right away.
James was great to work with, he listed to what I wanted and was able to come up with amazing creations. The flowers turned out beautifully!
We got a ton of compliments on the end product. He did exactly what we asked.;He tends to be very creative so you have to reign him in if you have specific ideas in mind.
