Herring Photography, based out of Plaistow, NH, tailors elegant wedding images for couples across New England. Known for his photojournalist style, owner Dave Herring has been documenting milestone moments since 2017. He will work diligently to provide you with a set of souvenirs that features the emotional highlights of your once-in-a-lifetime event.
Dave takes delight in every stage of the photography process, from taking pictures to perfecting the final edits. He decided to turn his hobby into a professional pursuit after using his first camera to record a trip to the UK. Paying attention to color and composition, he spends time crafting images that seamlessly convey his clients’ natural emotions. All he requires from you is to be yourselves as he captures every lighthearted and meaningful scene.
Herring Photography offers several packages intended to suit a range of requirements. The premium Package 4 bundle boasts eight hours of coverage, a second photographer, a photo album. You can personalize your package by selecting one or more of the add-ons, including additional hours, an engagement session, and a slideshow video. In addition, videography and portrait photography sessions are available.

Dave was committed from the beginning. After reaching out to him about the wedding he called me and we spoke like old friends. He got to know us as a couple, individuals and what we wanted in our wedding photographer. Dave inspires true LOL moments, and proved himself as willing to take the extra mile. After the shoot he enthusiastically agreed to meet us down the street at a local pond to get the perfect sunset picture. We are so happy with that gallery! Fast forward to the wedding and Dave fit in like a member of the family but didn’t skip a beat with capturing all the important moments. I even had a couple guests ask if he was a family friend and by the end of the night he surely was. The only thing to complain about is that there are too many amazing pictures to choose from; we are ecstatic with the way they turned out! His style is super classic without leaving out all those fun lighthearted moments, which in the end are the most important. HIRE HIM, HIRE HIM, HIRE HIM. You will not regret it!

Dave was absolutely amazing! He completely understood the vision and what was really important to us. He made us feel so comfortable and we had a blast taking our photos with him. And of course he is incredibly talented so the preview shots that we got to look at were STUNNING! We love Dave!!

Dave is a special human being, more than a photographer for us, he became part of the family, easily talking to anyone nearby and making everyone feel at ease and ready to smile for the camera. We would highly recommend Dave to anyone looking for a photographer!

DO NOT HIRE. I am not one for writing scathing reviews, this one took me over a year and a half but i do not want any other couples to forever want to cry when thinking of their wedding photos.
I have attached photos that were taken on an iPhone and the photos Dave presented me with.
Dave had a top of line camera, but unfortunately, no skills to use it. We were taking photos in front of large windows, which I know is hard composition to get. I repeatedly kept asking “is this okay? are we good in front of the windows?” because I would have happily moved locations for the sake of great photos, and even still, isn’t it the photographers job to be on top of that? Well, he always replied “yes, perfect, so good!” so you can imagine my UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT when I received his OVERBLOWN, OVEREXPOSED photos. Even the ones he took outside during sunset weren’t any better so you can’t blame it on lighting for inside countering outside backdrop light as they sunset ones are still overexposed.
Dave did try to improve and re-upload the photos, and provided me the RAW images but because of how he shot the photos, the over exposed light could not be recovered.
The worst part is this could have easily been avoided and I did my best to make sure it was but Dave was clearly not adjusting his settings and worse, not even looking at the images in real time to see how overexposed they were.
If I could go back in time, I would not hire Dave and my advice is to hire someone better equipped for your most important day.

I am heartsick knowing that you are so sad to look back at the those portraits by the lake. You told me you that you were happy with the re-edits that you requested, but clearly you are not now. As I told you last year, I am willing t...
o do anything to have them edited the way you want. I have some additional editing tools this year that can make background adjustment or replacement much easier. I would be more than happy to discuss what that looks like over the phone. You can reach me on my cell phone anytime.

I can't say enough good things about Dave!!! From the prep calls leading up to the wedding, to the day itself, Dave was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is friendly, funny, and genuine, and he really put me and my husband at ease during our photos before the ceremony. And our friends and family LOVED him-- so many guests told me afterwards how awesome and fun our photographer was! Dave's joy for what he does really comes through in the photos, too -- he captured so many amazing moments during the reception and we felt like we were re-living the whole celebration as we went through the album. We couldn't have been happier with the photos, but just as importantly the experience of working with Dave was one of the best decisions I made in the planning process!!

Dave was wonderful to work with! He made us feel so at ease all day and captured so many beautiful moments. I particularly loved how our calmer more intimate moments didn’t feel awkward at all. Dave helped us feel relaxed and we all had so much fun. Highly recommend especially if you love documentary style candids that truly capture the joy and excitement of your day.

My husband and I can't recommend Dave enough, he was such a pleasure to work with!! From the very beginning he showed how much he was invested in capturing our special day. He came to the rehearsal dinner making sure to capture every special moment. He showed up early on our wedding day and stayed till the very end. We had asked Dave to work with our photographer so they wouldn't bump into each other and he actually ended up going out of his way to work with the event coordinator, dj and more so he could capture every moment!
When we got our wedding videos back I can't describe the joy it gave us! We watch them every anniversary and other days when we need a pick me up. He truly outdid himself in recording our special day so that we could relive it forever.

We had the privledge of having David as our wedding photographer and he was incredible! He was available to meet with me to discuss plans and had some great recommendations. Throughout the day, he was found everywhere, even in the street stopping traffic to get just the right photo. I really appreciate his talent of capturing the moment and passion for what he does. We felt akward getting our photos taken at first when we had our engagement session and he was great at reassuring us and making it feel natural. I definitley will recommend him to others.

Dave was amazing! He was so helpful and easy going. He made taking photos feel natural; during the ceremony and reception, you wouldn't even know he was there. Our photos came out better than we could have imagined. If we ever need any future photography, we would 100% hire Herring Photography again. Highly recommended!

Dave was the absolute best wedding photographer we could have asked for. He scheduled a time months prior to interview myself and my husband to find out exactly what we were looking for but also just to get to know us as people and as a couple. He is funny, relatable, and remembered every single detail we requested. On the day of the wedding he was at the venue before we were. He made everyone laugh and captured the most amazing photographs of the entire day. Both perfectly arranged photos of both sides of the family, as well as countless gorgeous candids that we will cherish forever. The final album had over 1000 photos and the album comprised of our favorite 100 was wonderful and just perfectly captured the best day of our lives just as we want to remember it. Would highly recommend Dave as a #1 choice to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Back in June of last year, Dave Herring of Herring Photography, was the photographer for our wedding. He was exceptionally easy to work with, and he did an excellent job capturing the special moments of our wedding! We originally chose him because he was very affordable compared to other photographers and he did not try to sell us all types of bells and whistles and add ons, like some other photographers we looked at. He made us feel like he actually cared about our experience, and not just the money, which in todays wedding industry really matters. His wedding album was a 6th of the cost to buy than what other photographers albums had offered us and he made it out of good material that will last a lifetime. In fact, it has a special spot in our living room book case so all can see it when visiting :)
You can also tell the quality of his pictures because they’re clear and crisp, and not not uber filtered like I noticed other professionals will do to hide their lower quality photos.
If my husband and I could go back in time, we definitely would have Dave take our wedding photos again and we’d highly recommend him for you too! He does photos for more than just weddings, but family photos too and the like.
