Due to the World Wide Pandemic, COVID-19, we had to cancel our engagement party planned with the Signature Grand. We have requested our money back that my mother-in-law put down to hold the party's date, based on the act of god clause.
The liquidated damages that they are claiming is BS because we have the right to cancel under the act of god provision. They tried to claim that we knew the risk of COVID when we signed the agreement in early February is a bad faith argument and disingenuous.
We canceled a 300+ person wedding and received money back from every single vendor without any issues. Those vendors will receive our business again and our positive reviews.
My mother-in-law has used the Signature Grand multiple times and now will never be back.
We have declined the "options" that DeAnne gave us as she is just trying to avoid giving us our money back, which we have a contractual right to.
We even planned a phone call with her, which she never went through with.
Maybe now we can get an actual response or even talk to DeAnna's boss, which we have tried to do multiple times as well.
Sadly, this venue does not care enough about their clients, even in a horrible pandemic.

We have communicated and spoke with the contract holder, Myrline Marshall numerous times culminating in a phone conference with th...
e Corporate Office on September 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. and a letter reiterating our conversation and options.
Ms. Marshall was advised, many times, that there is no assessment of liquidated damages relative to her agreement during our phone conference and subsequent letter.
Moreover, the provision that you speak of does not state that a refund of Ms. Marshall’s deposit is refundable in the event she cancels her agreement. We regret that Ms. Marshall declined the many options provided in writing pursuant to the agreement. We provided more options in her interest, than the agreement provides.
Finally, we have no comment or knowledge of agreements you purport to have, as a contract holder, with your wedding vendors. However, we congratulate you on your recent wedding and wish you the best.
If Ms. Marshall requires another phone conference regarding her cancellation and relevant provision, we are willing and able to comply.

appeared as though once the received their money they no longer cared about us nor our requirements. Examples of blunders included,
Lost all our favors, sweets and Thant you cards for several hour
Tables were not decorated with out personal items delivered a day before
Wedding ceremony was late because they lost our sand ceremony vases and sand for several hours
The bridal party were starving for several hours only pop and a few crackers/ cheese provided in bridal sweet- no snack: food/no wine no bubbles no ordrves provide for approximately 20 guests who went to take photographs offsite in limousine as I requested.
I couldn’t get my hair styled on my day because the sockets were either lose or did not work
The staff were running around in frantic panic, unhelpful, overwhelmed with several ceremonies happening at the same time. My phone call were not returned and instead I was told management was busy with another client I call three times on my wedding day.
(The recommended photography complete media were the worst photographer and videos. They made last minute changes and did not have staff available to shoot our wedding and only told us the week of the wedding. Their communication was garbage and deceitful. We waited 7 month before receiving our album which only have 10 pages, most photos/ video taken were missing or in very poor quality , we paid 4K.)
A Signature manager came at reception to only offer an additional hour for inconvenience iI was a big insult. I was so mad I stayed quiet to avert further crisis ... we spent tens of thousands and it was not worth it. The worst wedding host in Florida ...

once-a-lifetime event for each of them. We also appreciate our clients/guests’ feedback to help us continue to bring that level of service to future clients and guests.
So, when we receive a review like this one, we definitely take the time to research and sort out the facts to respond factually. On your special day, you asserted “that there were several ceremonies going on at the same time as your ceremony.” But in fact, there were no other wedding ceremonies going on at the same time as your wedding ceremony. There is also the fact that our building does not have the capability of doing more than two ceremonies at one time since we only have two wedding chapels.
The crackers you refer to in your dressing suite were a complimentary welcome amenity from the General Manager, as indicated on the card. The cheese and cracker platter along with the chilled champagne was never intended to feed your bridal party of 20 guests. It was a gift for you, the Bride.
A well-documented manager’s report indicated that you and your bridal party vacated the building without notifying the staff assigned to your event. Our staff looked for you and your bridal party for over an hour; and by the time you returned, your guests were seated in the ballroom and the dinner had begun. Because you left the mansion without notifying your wedding planner, banquet managers or captains, you, the groom and your bridal party missed the entire cocktail reception and then some. If you would have stayed on property, you and your bridal party would have been able to enjoy the hors d’eouvres buffet and beverages that were stationed outside of your ceremony room in your private bridal hallway / seating area.
In accordance with the schedule presented and signed by you, your exit of the mansion was not indicated or communicated by you to any staff member. This is your day and you may do whatever pleases you. As you can see from the following schedule of events, there was no indication of you and your bridal party vacating the mansion or delaying the reception / dinner service.

Although you seemed upset about the reception, which was not on schedule, due to your leaving the property without notice, our General Manager kindly approved an extra hour of overtime with an open bar and he did not charge you. He placed your best interest first.
We are wedding professionals. We are never frantic, panicked or overwhelmed, as you suggested. Again, our file notes indicate that you were greeted by your Signature Grand Wedding Planner upon your early arrival to your dressing suite. Records indicate that your wedding planner called you the day of your wedding; but you were unable to be reached.
It is our position that you received every single item you contracted and paid for and then some from Signature Grand.
And to make sure we were thorough in our research, we contacted, Complete Media, the vendor you mentioned. We spoke with the owner of the company, who was in complete shock to find out that you were not happy with the services his company provided, since this was the first-time hearing of any concerns that you had (8 months after the wedding).
He was even more shocked in finding out that you said that his company’s communication was “deceitful and garbage.” When in fact, there were no changes made to the contract you signed and you were provided with a full staff to perform the services you contracted for. Also, he was not aware you were not happy with respect to the photos / video his company provided; since you received every single photo and the full edited video that you contracted for. He did confirm that the package that you purchased included:
• DJ and lights for ceremony, cocktail and reception
• Photography and video for 7 hours with USB of pictures, copyright release and designer album that included 30 photos (Plus an additional 25 photos were provided to you at no charge)
• Photo Booth with props and unlimited prints
• Custom monogram with delivery, set-up and breakdown ----- $4,315 a great
value
As for the time frame of the getting the album completed, it really came down to not being able to get a hold of you over an extensive period of time as discovered in the following timeline:
On August 31, 2018 – Client was provided an online link to view photos from their wedding which was held on August 18, 2018.
On November 15, 2018, Groom notified Complete Media of the 55 pictures they wanted.
On December 10, 2018, Client was provided an online link to pick out their album design. However, two additional notifications were sent to client because they did not respond to the initial request.
On March 6, 2019 Client called Complete Media to request the link again. Complete Media sent the link to client and they picked out the album design. Complete Media then sent the order to lab to get produced.
On March 19, 2019, Complete Media received the album and mailed it out to client who was now living out of state.
Again, we do not take your concerns lightly and want to make sure we addressed each issue accordingly.
So with that said, we want to also reiterate our sentiments as we did on the day of your wedding, we still wish you and your groom a happy life together and we were honored to be able to do your wedding.

Their staff and coordinators were always on point, our event producer always replied back to me when I had questions or concerns, they were all very professional and helpful. The venue itself is beautiful and luckily enough there was no other event going on the night of our wedding which was nice to have the place to ourselves. Everyone can’t stop saying how great everything was from the venue, food, and staff. Thank you soo much for making the whole process soo easy for us. We can’t thank all of you enough for making our wedding soo great and memorable. Big thank you to Steve Bumpus which made the process soo easy and not stressful. nd my coordinator, Steve, it seemed he only said yes to everything I asked for a SALE and to make his money. Apparently he never really paid attention to anything my mom and I had to say. I was offered a service you I DIDN’T get.
Steve told us from day one that I would get 2 bars and we only got one (when he showed us the venue TWICE, he pointed out how we would had two bars and never said it was extra $$ nor it was mentioned or written on the contract they gave me and still have the copy of). Plus not to mention the horrible attitude the bartender had, even thought he was constantly being tipped. I had a floor plan sent to them twice and it wasn’t followed. It’s like they never looked at it!
Don’t listen to everything they offer. They paint a pretty picture for my fiancé, mother, sister and I when showing the venue and at meetings and we didn’t get any of that. Nothing that I asked for was done. The transparency when talking to me 9a client) was not there. When I addressed my complaint, I just got nonsense and everything that we talked about many times was completely denied. Also Steve told us he will be there the day of my event and he was nowhere to be found that day!

imely manner. Most times she would only reply to my follow up emails where I was asking if she got my previous emails. Finally, my mom and I decided that It would just be easier to just call her so we wouldn’t have to wait for her responses. Every time we talked to her I got off the phone feeling stupid. As a coordinator your job is to make a bride feel like her vision is possible, not like an idiot for asking standard questions. I knew booking with the Signature Grand would mean that there would be other events happening the day of the wedding. As we got closer, I asked Linda if our wedding date was very booked up because I wanted to be prepared to make sure we had enough time to do pictures if there was more than one event. She looked and told me “well actually its not the busy that day” and told me we would be fine. I arrived at the venue the day of the wedding and there was TWO homecomings right next to us. We had high school wedding crashers walking in and out all night. They also don’t allow you to bring in outside anything so we had to go through them to get the hot pretzels for our favors which they over charged us for incredibly. The pretzels came out and had no salt. Honestly, more than anything it was just unorganized. Truthfully, the venue is gorgeous and my wedding was wonderful but I would still advise against using this venue.

e I was talking to the right decorators. The preferred vendor list was perfect for me! I did use the florist, DJ, and draping/uplighting decorator off of that list.
On the day of my wedding, my party and I were greeted at the front door. The staff were all very helpful escorting us to the bridal suite and offering to carry all of our things there. The wedding director got us all settled in and then went to go get us some drinks right away!
The ceremony went smoothly and the reception was a blast! Signature Grand catered our reception dinner. We had mashed potatoes, sweet rolls, green beans, salad, chicken, and filet mignon. Everyone was raving about how amazing all the food tasted! The chicken was very good, but it was definitely outshined by the filet mignon! It was cooked so perfectly and the sauce on it was delicious.
Signature Grand recently hosted my wedding and I would advise future brides and grooms to steer clear of Signature Grand. I am sure Signature Grand is good for other events. However, let me explain both the pros and cons of my experience:

Cons:
-BUSY! During my wedding on a Saturday evening, there had to be 15-20 other events going on at the Signature Grand. SO CHAOTIC.
-No supervision of shared spaces between parties: By this statement I mean to say that 1. I had items stolen from my wedding. 2. Taking photos was chaotic - a quinceanera party hogged the grand staircase for way too long, which pushed back my first look with my husband. 3. Leaving the venue was extremely chaotic and unorganized.
-My wedding coordinator was changed due to turnover, who I feel did not understand the vision I had for my wedding (while the previous coordinator did).
-Folks who set-up the wedding screwed up my bubble tunnel exit by not following explicit instructions I gave to arrange our custom bubble wands (which, weren't cheap) in a basket (all of which I provided) by the exit for our bubble exit. By this time, a majority of our guests had departed. Luckily my photographer is super talented and got a few nice shots and made the exit look fuller than it was. The fact that we had a bubble exit at all is all thanks to my amazing photographer.
-Day-of bridal attendant did not speak English and therefore could not assist me with requests. I am lucky to have had a wonderful bridal party to help me.
All in all I had a great wedding due to my photographer, DJ and the great food provided by Signature Grand. I would encourage those thinking of hosting their wedding at Signature Grand look elsewhere.

Yes a year worth of advise, counseling and securing spot with the right vendors were given to me through Ms. Deanna. Even with the changes I have experienced with the producers at SG, but you managed to secure me under the wing of Steve. Steve thank you again for taking me as your client. Please note, I had chosen the buffet style in regards to the serving of meals.....well it was a big hit with the guest. Variety of choices. Please understand, Signature Grand provide the venue, catered meals, but you have to do your research to pick the right vendors (DJ, Photography, Florist and etc) to create that IDEAL Event. eassuring, professional and informative. We met with several venues and we chose Signature Grand because of Maria's positive energy and the feeling that she genuinely cared. At Signature Grand you are greeted with a warm smile, freshly made warm cookies, coffee, cappuccinos or cafe con leche.
Maria Cavanaugh was attentive to detail and answered our questions in a timely manner. The week of the weeding she was instrumental in calming all all of our worries. The day of the wedding Maria and the staff's attention to detail was impeccable. The layout of the room was more impressive and beautiful than I expected. The bride, groom and guests were all impressed and amazed at the attention to detail and the professionalism of the staff and the service they received. We opted for the buffet, the food was delicious and i have received many compliments from the guests. The owners of Miami lakes Don Shula's Hotel were present at the wedding; they stated that they were impressed with the service, venue and food. after signing the dotted line we find out that Eric no longer worked with signature grand and we would be assigned to an entirely different coordinator. We were upset for several reasons. 1) We mainly signed with signature grand because of a recommendation to work with Eric; 2) no one informed us that Eric left. We had to inquire ourselves; and 3) they had no idea who are new coordinator would be when asked. We had to wait a week to find that information out. When we did find out we were set up to meet with our new coordinator named lily. Very nice woman but also very opinionated. Which was fine because I got the idea that she wasn't one to steer you wrong. She had many years and experience with the company under her belt. At times it was difficult to get timely responses from her because she is a senior coordinator and very busy. But the week of the wedding she was great in helping me tie up any loose ends when it came to my vision for the day and she even went as far as to fix my favors so that they would look presentable for the day. The day of all staff was very helpful. My bridal suite was fully stocked with snacks and drinks. Everyone kept me in the loop and helped everything go very smoothly. They made sure my day was the most memorable day ever! For that I would recommend signature grand. The day of is the most important and they are experts at making your fairytale come true!

Which caused major problems with my guests trying to park and the wedding. Me and my bridal party arrived at noon to start getting ready for the 4 pm ceremony. My wedding coordinator did not come until I asked another employee to send her over to the suite. I had a candy station and other things that I needed to set up for the wedding and most of it had been put in her office. She finally showed up in the suite around 1pm and went to get everything I requested which took at least another 40 mins. After that I did not see my coordinator unless I asked for her! I was under the impression that the day of the wedding she would come in periodically to check up and inform me of what was going on. That never happened! The ENTIRE night I saw Christi a total of 3 times! Anyway, while getting ready in the suite my PHOTOGRAPHER told me my wedding was taking place on the entire opposite side of the building. If you've been to this venue then you know that you have to pass by the front door. Which all of my guests would be coming into! Not to mention a long walk especially for my mother in law that has a lot of BREATHING problems! I was VERY VERY unhappy with my "coordinator"! The only saving grace for Signature Grand was the service! The service staff was impeccable!! My captain Ramona was amazing!! Such a sweet lady! And the food was very good :) But, that day I looked past the bumps because all that matters is that I got to marry the love of my life!
Superior service, wonderful customer service, came through on every promise. Food and Staff were great. Amazing place for any occasion.

experience overall but here are a few things I had problems with:
1- on the day of the wedding I got confused with another bride and taken to the wrong bridal suite
2- all my vendors were late due to the never ending construction near the venue
3- my parents and bridal party did not receive any appetizers (while we took pictures)
Over all, I was well treated, the venue is gorgeous, and my guest had a great time.

EVERY WEEK WE HAD A WEEKLY UPDATE EVEN IF IT REQUIRED HIM TO ANSWER TONS OF QUESTIONS THAT PROBABLY WAS ANSWERED THE WEEK BEFORE, HE DID IT AND HE DID IT PROMPTLY.
THE WAITING STAFF, THE BATHROOM ATTENDANTS, THE EVENT PRODUCERS, SET UP DIRECTOR WERE AMAZING.

walked in until the moment we left at the end of our event, the service and care at this venue was superb. The food was awesome as was the cake and the sundar bar was a big hit. Everthing was taken care for us. Our event coordinator, captain on the day of the event and the staff that took care of us did so with much professonalism and care making sure that all our needs and the needs of our guests were met. The happiness on our daughter's face cannot be placed into words on how everything turned out. Our guests were very impressed and loved the food and service provided. The staff worked together with the vendors to make sure everything went smoothly, checking with me as well as with respect to the timeline which made every thing go smoothly, giving time to all the ceremonies, dancing, cake cutting, etc. and made my night so much easier. s! The Director of Catering, Philip Colp, then took it upon himself to be our wedding coordinator, to make sure everything would turn out to be perfect. All the staff at SG is friendly and efficient and overall the service was just great, and despite some mishaps, they REALLY stepped up to the plate to make things work out wonderfully - better than we expected!
They really try to do their best to save you money and work with your budget! The bridal suite is great, with a safe, keys, mirrors (regular and full length) lights, private bathroom, and food and drink service. The Maitre'D was awesome, feeding my groom and I appetizers right where we were standing, which otherwise we would never had tasted, and amazing service on her part!
Overall, great price deals, amazing service, and if anything were to go wrong...take it from me (my flower vendor completely dropped the ball with the centerpieces and SG still made my reception BEAUTIFUL by putting the amazing mediterranean candle trees at all the tables - never even missed the centerpieces!) ou work with an event producer who oversees the entire planning of the venue. Ours was a professional from the tour of the place until the last guest left after the wedding. We pass this location often in our travels in S. Florida and always smile fondly. A better place to have a wedding in South Florida does not exist. The Signature Grand is just as its name implies!!!
