In a word, Steve is amazing. We were planning on getting married in Iceland and looking for somebody who could capture not only the "memorable moments" but be able to weave that into the beautiful landscape around. We were initially drawn to his portfolio and consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found him. There are many different types of wedding photographers and Steve really stands out as someone who is not just exceptional technically but really excels at conveying the actions and emotions of the day. He is professional and fantastic to work with and is able to engage everybody in an easy and natural way. Nothing about his photographs seems run-of-the-mill and each shot is unique and powerful. Lastly, his turnaround time was much faster than anticipated and he's very communicative and responsive. You will not regret hiring him!

We are so thrilled with our wedding photos. We absolutely love the slideshow that Steve put together of the day’s highlights and we’re so grateful to have had him there to capture it all. He captured everything that was important - every detail that we had mentioned - we especially love the picture of our puppy, Miley, "playing" the piano! His eye for wonderful opportunities at Willowwood Arboretum was beautiful - the lighting was terrific and the pictures feel like he caught the vibe of the whole wedding. We can’t believe that he got so many great pictures and we never felt like we spent the day posing - he always seemed to be in exactly the right spot at the right time. We chose Stephen based on the incredible photos on his website and hoped that ours would be similar, but his work exceeded our greatest expectation.

There are a lot of mediocre photographers out there. People who just like "taking pictures". Stephen Govel does NOT fall into that category. His photos are daring, charming, fun, adventurous, and touching all at the same time. He catches all things big and small and really captures the tone of the day. With his great personality, he even helps set the tone of the day. His energy and passion are contagious. You won't get bored looking through his photo book. He blends styles so well and so seamlessly and tells the multifaceted journey that is your wedding day. I will never get tired of looking at my wedding day pictures. Everyone loved Stephen even the guests. He worked his butt off but still managed to be very personable, charming, and friendly to all. Everyone felt extremely comfortable in his presence and that's probably why he was able to get such candid shots. He's super reliable. We had a day wedding and so our start time to get ready was at 6AM. He was there with a big smile and ready to work. He got our slideshow to us less than a week after our wedding and it was AMAZING. Looking at his photos you can see the quality and attention that went into each and every shot. You would be sad, sorry and remiss to not select him as your photographer.
