Erin and team also did an amazing job decorating the room, giving our reception a classy, personal touch. We received several compliments on the food and drinks, and indeed, the food was amazing! As a nice touch, we received goodie bags with our appetizers, entrees, and extra slices of cake. y fell in love with. Affordable, elegant, and incredibly accommodating, The Makoy made every step of our planning journey smooth and memorable. Their team was amazing to work with—special thanks to Matt, Adrian Clay, and Erin! You all truly rock. They listened carefully to our vision and helped bring it to life in a way that exceeded expectations. We chose to have both our ceremony and reception in the Emerald Room and highly recommend the “flip” setup—it was seamless and stunning. The weather called for rain on our big day, but The Makoy had it all covered. They transformed the space into something even more magical than we imagined. I trusted them with the ceremony decor and our sweetheart table, and they absolutely nailed it. It was breathtaking. Let’s talk about the food, delicious from start to finish! From the appetizers to the dinner, every bite was a hit. We had several tastings leading up to the big day, and they were so flexible and helpful in crafting a menu we loved. To this day, our guests can’t stop talking about how magical and beautiful everything was. The Makoy’s touch made our wedding day unforgettable, and we are so grateful. Highly recommend!

They were also a tremendous asset in making our personalized vision for the event reality. On top of all of that, the food is superb. We ended up with a bunch of leftover dessert not because we over ordered, but because everyone filled up on the fantastic dinner buffet and had no room left! If you are debating whether or not to give this place a look, just do it. We didn’t regret it, and neither will you.

budget. We never felt pressured to choose options we didn't want. The open house was excellent for helping us visualize the space and narrow down our food choices. The booking schedule worked out so that we could set up the room the day before, which made the day of much less stressful. Our reception went very smoothly, and everyone enjoyed the food. The way everything came together looked absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations by far. The decor was done so beautifully and we were very impressed. The food was amazing, the bartender was great and super friendly and every single guest made comments to me about how wonderful the event was and how nice the venue was. We could not be any happier with our decision to get married at the Makoy. It was absolutely perfect!!!

Matt, everyone made us feel like family and it was clear that their only goal was to do everything they could to make our wedding day exactly what we envisioned. This included a decor planning meeting with Erin and an open house/menu tasting event. The fact that they were one of, if not the most affordable all-inclusive venues in the Columbus area made it all the better. From our tour onward, Matt was our primary contact and made sure all of the administrative things were taken care of. He was always quick to respond to whatever we needed and patient while answering my many questions. He even made sure to check in on us at the reception, even though he didn’t have to be there. He was very easy going and truly great to work with! Erin was extremely helpful at our decor meeting where we got to look at all of the linen colors, centerpiece options, etc. and make a sample table setup so we could see exactly how it would look on our wedding day. This was one of the most helpful things they offered. The Makoy also does all of their catering in-house, which took the stress of finding a caterer off our plate, and all of the food is DELICIOUS. We got to sample the food and drinks beforehand at one of the open house and tasting events which was super helpful and a lot of fun! Adrian was our day-of coordinator and she was amazing! Once we dropped everything off for the reception, she did all of the set-up and tear-down. Everything was set up exactly how we asked and it looked beautiful! Adrian did a great job making sure everything ran smoothly and our reception was stress free. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day-of the wedding. I could go on for many more paragraphs praising everyone and everything at The Makoy, but I will wrap this up by saying the entire staff at The Makoy, especially Matt, Erin, and Adrian were amazing, kind, and worked incredibly hard to make our wedding day exactly what we envisioned. Most importantly, they made our wedding day STRESS FREE. Having our reception at The Makoy was easily one of the best decisions we made and I would spend our money on them 100x over. Cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for an affordable all-inclusive in the Columbus/Hilliard area.

The food was great, our decorations were lovely, the staff were attentive to all our needs! The only thing was our day of coordinator. She was great but wished she lead more during our ceremony rehearsal and during the wedding. We needed a few things from her during the wedding and was hard to find her at times. Other than that, we loved our experience!

e value you get at the Makoy center is incredible. We wanted to pay for our wedding ourselves and they made that possible. We had about 150 guests. They all loved how spacious the room was and they had room to move around. We cannot speak highly enough about the food too. Every. Single. Guest told us they felt extremely full and very content. From the hors d'oeuvres to the meal, it was all perfect. We had some guests literally stalking the wait staff to get more. And again, it was reasonably priced. The whole process of planning and working with the planning team at the makoy center was made super easy with Matt and Erin. They answered all our questions and seem to be there all the time. There was not a single thing that they could have done better.

And they always ask what they can do to make the day better for you including bringing us specialized dinner plates right to our table so that we didn’t have to get in line for our food. Everything is also very reasonable priced for all those couples out there who have a budget plan (as most do). What’s so great about our experience is that we did not sacrifice any quality for the price! Our guests enjoyed a wonderful night with wonderful staff that catered to everyone!

You have the ability to have a outdoor or indoor wedding if needed, there was what I called a “mock reception” where you come and taste test the food they offer which was ALL AMAZING! Matt is always available for questions and meets with you again close to the wedding to make sure everything is in place. They are SO ORGAINZED that there is no way you could forget a thing! The day of the wedding Clay met us at the door with carts to help unload everything you brought to add to the occasion. With his checklist in hand he goes over what you have and listens to what you want to do with it with suggestions himself that may I add is the way to go because he made the room look absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Now that it’s all over I am kind of sad that I won’t need to communicate anymore with them, ha, ha Everyone at the Makoy Center was extremely professional, helpful and friendly and gave my daughter a night to remember!

People are still talking about how beautiful everything was. I'm so appreciative of the Mckoy staff - they made our experience so comfortable, easy and seamless. I am especially grateful to Matt and Adrian who took the lead on everything and gave us a one-of-a-kind experience. The Mckoy Center is an excellent choice for any event!

ether I had a question that could be answered over the phone or the personalized attention I got from our in person meetings. They could not have made things easier for me. The venue was was very nice and was the perfect spot for my morning wedding and brunch. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles. We paired the day with a mimosa bar that was a huge hit with our wedding guests. The event coordinator who worked with us on the actual day of the wedding was great - she had everything moving along smoothly all day. I cannot say enough good things about the Makoy Center and their wonderful staff. I am absolutely impressed with them.

very MINOR complaint was that we confirmed that we could pick up our decorations the day after our wedding (since they take care of tear down), however after my husband and I left my maid of honor was told she needed to take everything because they had a wedding next day. Not a huge deal, she was happy to do it and it got done with staff's help as well! I just wish it had been communicated better so she could've had more help from the rest of our bridal party. I still wouldn't change anything about our choice of venue- Matt was always helpful even when I emailed him at 11pm panicking about something I read on Reddit! I would recommend this venue for anyone planning a wedding :)

he serving staff could be better because they sometimes disappeared during the night and we would have to go looking for them. The food/ catering could also be better! They need to include more cultural foods as the demographics of Hilliard/ Dublin are changing. The food menu mostly only consisted of "traditional American Foods" and it was not the best food as expected but it was decent. we were not allowed to bring outside catering but Makoy Center should consider that moving forward or provide different cultural cuisines as an option. The pricing of the event was also decent and not too expensive and remained within out budget. Overall, Makoy center did a great job and we would definitely consider holding another event here!
