Hello, it's us. If you're wondering whether or not Adele is engaged, we have great news: the signs point to yes! On August 9, the British singer appeared to confirm her engagement to sports agent Rick Paul during a concert in Germany. When a fan held up a sign asking for her hand in marriage, she said, "I can't marry you, I'm already getting married," while waving her left hand in the air.

The cheeky choice of words is the latest Easter egg the singer dropped in regards to her romance with Paul. Last fall, rumors picked up again when she allegedly spoke about her wedding plans. Two showgoers shared the news with celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi, which posted their blind item submissions on November 21. "I was at Alan Carr's comedy show in LA tonight and Adele was in the audience," wrote one fan. "Alan asked the crowd if anyone got married recently and Adele shouted 'I did.'"

Another fan wrote, "When he asked if anyone got married recently she yelled 'I did.' Super cute all around and was super sweet but dipped right before it ended." The anonymous tipster continued, "Adele was sitting right behind me with a friend having the best time. Her security only came in to bring her snacks. She didn't care if people knew she was there. She was heckling him — they're best friends."

It's not the first time Adele and Rich Paul sparked marriage rumors. The singer, who currently has a residency in Las Vegas, often refers to her beau as her "husband" during shows. "You can't marry me. I'm straight, my love, and my husband's here tonight," she told a female audience member at a show in September 2023. The fan asked, "Can you try?" to which Adele jokingly responded, "No, I don't want to try. I'm with Rich. You're crazy, leave me alone."

Confirmation of a wedding has been a long time coming for fans of the couple. Rumblings of an Adele and Rich Paul engagement took the internet by storm at the BRIT Awards on February 8, 2022. The Grammy-winning singer stepped onto the red carpet in a luxe black dress with sheer detailing, but the true star of the show was a glistening diamond ring on that finger.

After the arrival of her latest album 30 in 2021, much interest has been generated around Adele's boyfriend, Rich Paul, and her marriage to ex-husband Simon Konecki, with whom she shares one child, Angelo.

Adele publicly debuted her romance with Rich Paul, a sports agent, on Instagram in September 2021. At the time, the hitmaker revealed a black-and-white photo with Paul taken inside a soft-lighting photo booth. In the sports world, Paul is equally impressive with his professional accomplishments, as his most notable client is LeBron James.

Originally, the couple formed a friendship after meeting at a party. "He was always there, I just didn't see him," Adele told Vogue in her November 2021 cover story. "I was a bit drunk. I said, 'Do you want to sign me? I'm an athlete now.' He's just so fucking funny. He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away."

In time, Adele felt a safe space with Paul. "I don't feel anxious or nervous or frazzled. It's quite the opposite. It's wild," she noted in the same interview. "I'm a 33-year-old divorced mother of a son, who's actually in charge. The last thing I need is someone who doesn't know where they're at, or what they want. I know what I want. And I really know what I don't want."

During a conversation with Elle in 2022, she said, "I've never been in love like this. I'm obsessed with him."

Inside Adele & Ex-Husband Simon Konecki's Marriage

Adele and her ex-husband Simon Konecki began dating in 2011. After a long-term relationship and welcoming their son, Angelo, together, the singer and charity exec quietly married. "The timeline the press have of my relationship, my marriage, is actually completely wrong," she said in the same interview. "We got married when I was 30… and then I left." (For context, Adele turned 30 in 2018.)

"I was just going through the motions and I wasn't happy," she added. "Neither of us did anything wrong. Neither of us hurt each other or anything like that. It was just: I want my son to see me really love, and be loved. It's really important to me."

The separation had occurred prior to the pair informing their loved ones about their decision. "Obviously Simon and I never fought over him [Angelo] or anything like that. Angelo's just like, 'I don't get it,'" she told British Vogue in her joint release cover story. "I don't really get it either. There are rules that are made up in society of what happens and doesn't happen in marriage and after marriage, but I'm a very complex person. I've always let him know how I'm feeling from a very young age because I felt quite frazzled as an adult."

The timeline, though still entirely unclear, still included some highlights in 2018. In time for their five-year anniversary, Konceki planned a surprise at select concerts during her global tour. Konecki had the brilliant and totally romantic idea to replace the original white confetti with personalized pink confetti, scribbled with, not her song lyrics, but his sweet love notes, like, "You are an angel", "I love you", "Happy Anniversary!!", and "Love you long time."

What We Learned About Adele's Love Life From 30

Prior to the release of Adele's album 30 in 2021, the superstar teased its contents. "If the new album is a divorce album, it's a different kind of divorce album. It was more me divorcing myself," she told Vogue. "Just being like, B—ch, f—kin' hot mess, get your f—kin' shit together!"

"I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption," she added to British Vogue. "But I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time."
