Congratulations to Courtney Roker and her new husband. Al Roker's daughter married Wesley Laga at the Ashford Estate in New Jersey on Friday, June 4.

"Last night was beyond anything I could ever imagine," the bride declared in first photos from the ceremony. "I celebrated my love for my husband, and felt the love from everyone. My heart is filled with happiness and filled with joy. And I gotta say my husbands dance moves aint to shabby. Now on to the honeymoon."

Weekday weddings are starting to become the new norm for to-be-weds and guests after half of all wedding receptions in 2020 were postponed. Many couples ended up securing Friday dates, in particular, to preserve their preferred wedding venues and vendors, leaving the Lagas right on trend for 2021 nuptials.

Courtney Roker's Engagement

The couple announced their engagement via Instagram while quarantining in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. "Life sometimes takes you in a different direction for a reason," Courtney, a recipe developer, wrote on Instagram. "We should have been in Paris, but with how the world is at the moment, it was placed on hold. Instead, Wes brought Paris to me with the music, lights and live cam shot of the Eiffel Tower on our TV."

She added, "I said yes to my best friend last night and I am over the moon! Thank you Wes for making me your partner in crime for life. I love you."

Proud dad Al subsequently shared the news via social media. "I was waiting to get the ok, but now that it's on her insta, we are so thrilled," he wrote. Naturally his Today show co-hosts reacted to the engagement with comments of support and enthusiasm, which filtered over to the morning program itself on Monday, April 13.

"He's a terrific young man. He makes my daughter very happy," Al remarked. "We could not be more pleased."

One question to avoid, for now, is asking Courtney and Wes about their future wedding plans, as that remains a question mark for the couple. "No plan for the wedding yet, because we don't know when we're all going to be together," Al added. "But we're looking forward to Wes and his family joining our family in the not-so-distant future."

Days before the engagement announcement, Courtney expressed how much she wanted to be with her loved ones. "This has definitely been difficult," the future bride wrote in a post. "I haven't seen my family in a while and miss them dearly. But I am missing all 4 of my families as well. One day, life will be somewhat back to normal."

Courtney Roker is Al's daughter from his first marriage to Alice Bell. The NBC correspondent also shares two children, Leila and Nick, with his wife, Deborah Roberts. He's been consistently transparent about fatherhood and his marriage to Roberts. "When Courtney's mother and I first separated I tried to be Disney Dad, showering her with gifts, trips," he once told Dad Mag. "Then I snapped out of it. You don't have to try to impress your kids. If they're not getting what they need from you, they will let you know."
