Exclusive: Influencer Ashley Zarlin Is Engaged! See The First Photos and Details
The secret's officially out: Ashley Zarlin is headed to the altar. The content creator is engaged to Adam Huebner, The Knot exclusively reveals. Zarlin, the daughter of The Real Housewives of Orange County original cast member Lauri Peterson, got engaged to Huebner last summer on July 19, 2025. "We're excited to start the next chapter of building our own family and starting this new life together," Zarlin says.
The engagement had a special nod to Zarlin's family, as Huebner popped the question in her parents' rose garden—the very one where Peterson wed Zarlin's stepfather, George Peterson, in 2007. (Not only did cameras document the nuptials for season three of RHOC, it was the first Real Housewives wedding to air on Bravo.) "[The proposal] was very intimate; exactly how I wanted it," Zarlin says.
Read on for all the details from Ashley Zarlin's engagement, along with a few teasers for her "old-world romance" wedding set for later this year.

Ashley Zarlin's Engagement Details
Like many modern couples, Zarlin knew an engagement was imminent after she and Huebner discussed her ring preferences. But she wasn't prepared for the journey that led to the engagement. The saga began when Zarlin was out to breakfast with a friend on a summer morning. "At the end of the meal, the waitress brought me a card. I thought they gave it to the wrong person," she recalls. "I opened it and it said, 'Today's the day.' I immediately knew and started crying.'"
From there, Zarlin embarked on a journey to find her soon-to-be-fiancé. A car arrived at the restaurant to shuttle her to the next stop, and it wasn't until after the fact that she learned it was being driven by a friend wearing a fake mustache. Her disguised chauffeur took her to a nail salon, which Huebner rented out ahead of time, where her mother and sister were waiting.
Next, she was taken to the mall to find a new outfit before getting her hair and makeup professionally done as well. "Before I knew it, I ended up in my parents' rose garden," she says. Huebner presented her with her dream engagement ring: an oval-shaped diamond on a gold band with a hidden halo. "I knew what I wanted for the longest time," she explains. "It's special that he wanted me to be part of the design process. I look down at it every day and can't believe I get to wear it."
Considering she had an entire day to mentally prepare for the bended-knee moment, Zarlin says her feelings of anxiousness dissipated the moment she finally came face-to-face with Huebner. "When I saw him in my parents' rose garden—especially knowing that we already had their blessing, which meant everything to me—I wasn't nervous," she says. "I felt calm and excited about the fact that [this chapter] was beginning."
Inside Ashley Zarlin's Love Story
That chapter was two-and-a-half years in the making. Zarlin and Huebner matched on Hinge and shared their first date at a local Italian restaurant on Halloween. "People always ask if we dressed up," she says. "I like to say I dressed up as myself, and he dressed up as my future husband."
Zarlin says they took their time getting to know each other. Since they're both 40, that intentionality paved the way for their compatibility as a couple. "We both have a solid foundation of who we are, and I think that that's what makes us so steady," she said. "If we had met 15 or 20 years ago, we'd be totally different people."
Interestingly enough, Huebner got Peterson's stamp of approval merely a week-and-a-half into their relationship after he unwittingly ran into her while she was picking something up from Zarlin's house. "I'll never forget it," Zarlin remembers. "She texted me after and said, 'You guys look perfect together.'"
Thanks to Peterson's lifelong dating advice, Zarlin knew Huebner was the one. "My mom would say, 'When you know, you know.' But I thought, 'How do you know?'" That question was answered the moment she met her future husband. "My first impression of him was that he was so calm and masculine and very kind," she continues. "He had this quiet confidence about him that stood out to me immediately. It was a breath of fresh air. I was never anxious or unsure around him. I didn't have to prove myself or wonder where I stood."
Although the couple's close friends and family knew about their relationship, there's a reason Zarlin waited six months to publicly hard-launch their romance. "Growing up in the public eye, there's already so much out there, and you learn that letting certain things grow quietly is nicer," she says. "From the start, I wanted to build roots with him before I shared it with everybody."
Ashley Zarlin's Wedding Vision
Now, the to-be-weds are hard at work planning their "old-world romance" wedding, which is set to take place this summer. "I've been very 'type B' when it comes to planning," she says. "I really wanted to enjoy being engaged." She credits hiring a planner as being one of the most helpful wedding planning steps so far: "It's nice having someone take the reins for me."
While Zarlin originally envisioned her wedding to be in Lake Como, Italy, she and Huebner ultimately decided on a venue in the greater Santa Ynez region of California. "I wanted it to feel old-world, romantic and timeless," she says of their wedding inspiration. "I want to be able to look at our photos in 30 years and feel like we could have gotten married in the future or 100 years ago."
Aesthetics aside, Zarlin says the moment she's most looking forward to is celebrating her marriage with her loved ones. "When in your life can you be in a room with everybody that loves you, walking you into the next chapter of your life? I can't wait to freeze some of those moments," she says. "And I'm glad that we have a videographer, because watching that back is going to be so special. We both waited our entire lives for this, so that makes it even better."
